Check out the original by Davey Arthur and the Fureys. Davey wrote the reel, it is not (contrary to popular belief) a trad irish tune. The version on the album emigrant is insane.
Hi Shane, I have just discovered your channel. Fantastic banjo playing, love your version of tunes. Is it GDAE tuning?. what gauge strings do you use. keep them coming!
Thanks. Is that a Dave Boyle you are playing. It sounds great. Is there any particular reason you are playing with a capo on?. I find it easier to play with one on a 19 fret. Thanks for reply.
It's dis heartening watching this when trying to excel on the banjo. But my god truelly one of the best players I've seen that's including cathel hayden Gerry Oconner I think it a cut above to be fair to every other great banjo player
I found this a month ago but come back to it every day
Two month update and still going strong
Of the few reels I can [barely] play on the mandolin, Tam Lin gives me the most trouble. Kudos to you for being so accomplished that it looks so easy!
Mighty.like a call to arms
Amazing, definitely one of my favorite versions of this tune!
Cheers Dan
I didn’t know it was possible to play banjo that fast! Love it! Thanks!

Malcolm Brown yes. It's a Dave Boyle. I'm using the capo because 1 fret has started to buzz. So I need have to get a refret.

Great playing man! Do you learn from sheet music or by ear?
Thanks. I learn from Ear.
