He was parroting truisms and “philosophical” platitudes he’s heard in movies and soaps and stored away. He has no real comprehension of them, or how inappropriate they are in this specific context. And literal lines from old B-movies. “He was young, too young..”
Listen at his old boss the politician and you see where he gets these “solemn” pompous mannerisms. But that guy was doing it as a self-consciously “old-fashioned” schtick. Thayne doesn’t realise this.
Do you remember Russell “I’m gonna release my bipolar!” The lady who knew him (her son was also autistic) and had taken him under her wing after she found him wandering about in a wifebeater vest in subzero temps, hungry - she said most of his conversation was made up of script lines like these.

IMO, I’ve heard inmates say they’d rather be dead, than having to live the rest of their lives in solitary confinement. Some people think, this is torture, but I look at it like the misery they will have to endure, will give the victim/victims much more justice. This consequence seems more fitting than knowing, this will eventually end. Instead they will never know how many years they will be required to live before this ends.

Is saying "my partner" a thing now because somebody claims to be offended by being referred to as someone's husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, my man/my woman or something. No offense intended, I'm genuinely curious cuz I'm old now and I get confused trying to keep up with all the games that get played with language these days... Used to be pretty easy back when "partner" was pretty much reserved for occasional use like if your uncle, the 40+ never married "confirmed bachelor" finally gotten into a relationship with a "significant other" that nobody talks about in front of grandpa...

Not saying anything untoward went on, but Thane is exactly the kind of young person predators can sniff out a mile away. I find it strange and creepy that he was taken in on TWO occasions by much older men under the guise of ‘helping’ him.

It's definitely concerning when vulnerable young people are targeted by predators who manipulate their trust under the guise of offering help. It's crucial for communities to be vigilant and supportive of individuals like Thane, providing them with the protection and guidance they need to stay safe. My heart goes out to anyone who has experienced such exploitation, and I hope for justice and healing for all involved.

I'm sure the detectives antennae immediately perked up, early in the interrogation, when he answered the question of what kind of person would do this, with, " Someone with no love for things that grow". A very odd answer under the circumstances, and way to refer to the taking of human life. I've never heard the act of murder, referenced this way.

Even if he went only to kill Jeffrey he could’ve waited once he realised he had company and 1 being a 10 year old boy so I don’t feel bad for him, i feeel sorry for the life he had leading up to this but I do believe bob was pulling the strings here.

This is a sad case. I recommend everyone checking out the entire interrogation though. It’s incredible! The investigators really did an amazing job getting the confession from him. It’s very satisfying. Sometimes, detectives can really drop the ball, but I feel like this one, they did everything right that it should be shown in training videos 😂
