- The Subaru Impreza S14 WRC was the last car launched by the Subaru World Rally Team (SWRT) in 2008. The car was driven for the first time by Petter Solberg and Chris Atkinson during a 4 days test in Sardinia at the beginning of May 2008. The official WRC debut was during the 2008 Acropolis Rally of Greece, beginning on the 29th of May.
The car was moved by a 1994cc turbocharged flat four engine with a limited power of 300bhp @ 5500rpm and a torque of 650 Nm @ 3000rpm.
The driver of this car is the italian Pierfranco Uzzeni
A little curiosity about the name of the Subaru's rally cars:
The different way to call the same model of an Impreza WRC derives from the different nomenclature existing between Subaru and Prodrive: for Subaru WR Team, for the car produced from 1997 to 1999, the car was referred to as the WRC97, WRC98 etc., and for years 2000 they were refferred to as WRC2003, WRC2005, etc
Instead Prodrive referred to the car by using an "S" followed by a growing number, starting from the S5 (the equivalent of the WRC97-99).
So the car of the video is known both as the Subaru Impreza WRC2008 and Subaru Impreza WRC S14.

It's a shame that Subaru didn't had much succes with this car in the WRC, this was the last WRC car from Subaru, still missing them. I hope they comeback. Great video as always.

Yeah, I really miss Subaru in WRC too. I love the Impreza, but weirdly, Subaru has taken such a strange route during the last years. The newest Imprezas simply don't feel like 'real' Imprezas anymore. It's just a personal feeling though, long live Subaru!

Yes you're right. I find even the current Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 10 better than the current Impreza. Subaru vs Mitsubishi, Lancer vs.Impreza, that were real WRC cars not like this Kitcars nowadays.
Shame that this car became the last one Subaru had ever used for 2008 season before the Subaru team pulled out of the wrc along with fellow Japanese car the Suzuki

This car was driving from the Rally Greece until Rally Great Britain in the WRC 2008. In that time the car had only one podium finish. If the car would have been more developed, than it would had a chance to be really successfull. And i never said that Subaru pulled out of the WRC because they weren't competitive anymore, I only said that this car had not so much success in that time.

What? The hatch model showed more success than the outdated-sedan. Subaru pulled out of WRC due to economic reasons, not because of their ability to compete. But of course, even I wish for Subaru to re-enter into the main WRC. They're doing fine in Group N and the IRC (Intercontinental Rally Challenge) though.
Not true : A Evo owner just gave a Thumbs UP! because this is one of the last true rally cars and not those new dinky toys :( ;)

WTF! drift is now prohibited on WRC? it seems that today's drivers are being inspired to show that they have the money to drive a subaru rather than perform their best on WRC. i miss Makinen, McRae, Noriyuki Koseki and all the legends of WRC.
You're thinking about an older generation of WRC drivers. As shown by Sébastien Loeb, clean driving results in faster stage times. It's not about putting on a show, it's about being the fastest.
