Also, a creative fundraiser for your business. Don’t focus too much on selling your products, strategize to engage with the public. Giveaways are also effective. It’s been a great way to cut down on waste while reducing packaging costs. Once your current packaging runs out, you might consider inviting returning customers to join a similar program. Not only does it help lower expenses, but it also fosters a sense of community and keeps customers coming back!

Love this video. I’ve just started thinking about opening up a bakery and learned that a lot of people start from home so that’s what I’ve been focusing on lately. You’re videos are so inspiring and realistic. This video gave me a lot of think about, thank you. I love how happy you were about all the people in the ER loving your baked goods, so cute! I know it can be discouraging sometimes, but it’s so great that you’re out there trying your best to do something you love. I know that although my bakery idea might not be as successful as I want it to, I would be happy that I at least tried and that in itself would give me a lot of peace. Have you considered your electricity or gas as well? Have you calculated your hourly rate to be realistic if you are really earning or having a loss each month.

I love your small business videos please keep it up! also i thought maybe for your coconut ganache? is that was it was called? anyhow maybe you can add some cornstarch or some sort of thickening agent, that way you can measure it out instead of playing the guessing game with the whipping of it.

Aww thanks Nati! I actually applied to a farmers market earlier in the year, but I think it was a pretty competitive one, so I didn't get in. I'll probably apply to more next year, but that's a good idea! I'll definitely share the process in another video :)

I applied for a Cottage Food Permit before I started selling, but I think it just depends on the level of risk you want to take. The license requirements seem to differ per market. I've heard of some that don't require any license but others that require a Temporary Food Vendor License which you can usually get once you have a Cottage Food Permit. Hope that helps!
