- ANC Deputy President Paul Mashatile is at a Workers' Day commemoration event held at Elka Stadium in Rockville, Soweto. Workers were reportedly chanting and shouting behind the barricade that police are manning. This as they lamented the continuous retrenchments in the mining sector.
