You not alone on this Danielle. My husband is 82, in his youth and beyond at his home no kid was allowed in the kitchen Period!! So they were never taught the fundamentals of cleaning up in, the kitchen. The wife ran the house while the hubbies went to work or spoilt. Some women would rather clean the Mess up themselves knowing it was done properly. We have a daughter 56 and her husband works but she does No cooking. Good afternoon, Danielle, and besides the fact that, as you have chronicled many many times before, Hurricane Dan makes his way through the kitchen in the middle of the night and can’t be bothered to clean up his messes, but as we have talked about before, he has to stop eating and snacking like this for his health, and I could speak to that because of all the newer medical tests and situations I am going through in the last month or so with a couple of more tests and consultations next week 🤔
You just never know from morning to morning what you are going to find in the kitchen on the counter, floor, rug, refrigerator, droppings, Spilling , fruit peelings, an avocado with bite marks! Dan meandering around sleep walking always in the same direction! lol… Does Dan even remember or enjoy his antics? I would be more surprised if everything is in its place. Ambien causes most to gain weight from night eating. I hope you are not on Ambien because you are not suppose to drink alcohol with those category of RXs. Glad you are getting your home painted and updated! It’s just makes a person feel all fresh and cleaned up!🌸

Do what my mother used to do, we would be knocked out sleeping and she would wake us up just to wipe the counter, mop the floor, flush the toilet, etc. Or charge him $10 for every single thing you get up for him even if it's a corn pop. I’ve been going through this around the entire house for 30+ years. My other half while he was alive was a slob and a hoarder. Yes I bitched and moaned, but it did no good. I still have my 31 year old son at home, he will be moving out in November, who is also been a slob all his life. So I get this x2. It’s been very difficult for me all these years since I have a touch of OCD so it drives me crazy. I get tired of cleaning up after other people. We also have two cats that belong to my son. Guess who shops for their food, feed them every day, pooper scoops their litter box every day, cleans the boxes once a week? That would be me. I almost forgot. I have to go to the vets office once a month to get the revolution for the cats and have to put it on them. Come November I’m free. I will miss my son and I will miss the cats, but I certainly won’t miss all the time I have to dedicate, cleaning up after them.
Now see, I would be livid. I don’t mean to make it worse but I’m just being honest. I would not put up with it. You are not the maid and he’s treating you like you are expected to pick up after him. I didn’t allow my kids to do crap like that and I wouldn’t allow a grown man who’s supposed to love me to act like that either. But then, maybe I’m just over intolerant if that’s a thing.
