I had the reaction done to the Official Video! That should have been released before this live version reaction. I got the comment/ suggestion on the 4th Oct 2020 on my Led Zep reaction. At some point in time, I will drop the official video reaction once and only IF the appeal wins. Thank you for your support. Be that wind.
I am truly grateful to have seen Scorpions live in 1984.. I also am grateful to have witnessed the tearing down of the Berlin Wall, on tv from America. I could only imagine the joy for the people in Germany. My maternal great great grandfather came to America from Berlin, so this song has very much meaning to me. No more division of east and west Berlin.
Ahh, another wonderful song of a fantastic German group and a very meaningful message at that time👍. And the crowd participation-WOW, just something else👊😊. Yes, somehow you would never expect such a kind of sentimental side of hard rock musicians. But that only goes to show you, that at the end they are all human beings and pretty much aware of what is going on in the world 🌍🤩. if your time permits, there're lot of more songs of this group that are worth to discover, like „Still Loving You“, „Rock You Like A Hurricane“ and „Send Me An Angel“ to name but a few😊🎶. Thank you HAP for this reaction and by the way, your whistling was great. Who does not try😉🙋🏻♀️
The Scorpions are my favourite band of all time. My favourite song of theirs is Lonely Nights. I’d would love to see your reaction if you ever find time 😘
Hi Hap, so glad I was able to see you react to this one (was unable to see the official video reaction). Another great and insightful reaction! You are absolutely right in that the songs sentiments are of peace and of hope. Many people link this song to the end of the Cold War and the tearing down of The Berlin Wall, mainly due the footage seen on the official video, it is not. Actually, it was written prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall (which came down a few months later), the lead singer Klaus Meine wrote it after their performance in the Moscow Peace Festival in Russia. Without going into to much history Scorpions being a band from Germany and Germany's history with Russia. They were inspired by the sight of thousands of Russians cheering them on despite them being a German band. Klause Meine, "their parents and grandparents once came with weapons and they came with guitars," and gutarist Rudolf Schenker called this song, "A kind of message soundtrack to the world's most peaceful revolution on earth." It's such a beautiful song, with a message that change is possible. We definitely need a Wind of change in these most challenging of times. If you are so inclined to explore a little more of the Scorpions music and if time permits, please listen to Send Me Angel and Still Loving You. Links Below live versions. Thank you for the listen. Stay well and stay safe. 😊✌ Watch "Scorpions - Send Me An Angel - Moscow, Russia 2001 (With Orchestra), on RUclips ruclips.net/video/NQ241yQpMn8/видео.html Live Version Still Loving You,with The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra ruclips.net/video/fPBRrl6eSw0/видео.html
Wow thanks for this comment! I’m surprised with Hap’s interpretation again after reading this. I also hope Hap to bring more of Scorpions songs to the channel 🎧🎵💙
the song is inspired by many things that were going on at that time... perestroika, glasnost and gorbatschow's politics and the fall of the iron curtain being a big part of it... allowing them to be able to perform in russia to begin with.. they did not choose those pictures just randomly.... it later became the un-official anthem for the fall of the berlin wall which happened 3 month after writing the song
Thank you for introducing a new group to the channel! I loved the song a lot. Thanks to A n R Miranda for suggesting such a group to Hap to react, too👍
Dang, another new band! Love the song. Hope, peace& inspiration definitely. Beautiful song, I wish I had listened to more of the music from that era when it was happening! Love your reaction Hap! Love from across the pond.
Another great German band, always loved them! “Always somewhere” is my favourite song! They stole the melody for the beginning but nevertheless I love it!
After almost 55 years the scorpions keep making music and touring because they love doing it, they've said that they have nothing left to prove and just want to bring joy to the world through music and they couldn't be prouder that this song will be their ultimate legacy to the world.
I last heard this a long time ago. I have always liked the song. And you are right that there aren’t many songs with whistling. I know I have one on the tip of my tongue but just can’t remember!! Great reaction!!🌻🌻
your content is so good i dont get why you havent blown up yet btw you really should listen to Nena - 99 Luftballons with a lyric translation because its a great song from that exact time period

This is one of the best singalong anthem-style ballads of all time. The crowd would sing the whole thing if they wanted it 😂
