I was debating getting one of these platter mats. Wanted to hear more hands on reviews. Decided to go with the orangelit. Found your video after I ordered it and was pumped to see somebody do a review with the same turntable! Gotta love the black and bronze. The yellow peaking out under the record looks great. Looking forward to hearing a difference in my audio

just the looks alone justify 20 bucks I think, but when I actually heard a difference in audio I was quite surprised. It's not a massive difference but I really didn't think I'd hear a difference at all lol
Let me know how it went for you!

Interesting video, I have seen other videos where they put the acrylic mat directly onto the platter, taking off the felt/rubber mat, but when I tried this it sounded quite thin, so put the felt mat back on first, then the acrylic mat on top, works fine that way, not heard much of a difference though, but then I've only played one LP so far, I've also heard by some commenters say that if you play it with both mats on you should alter something on the arm because it changes the way the needle tracks in the groove ! personally I can't see how 2.8mm of extra hight would effect the way the needle plays the music ! But hey ho, I'm no audiophile !

Thank you for this video! I ordered the clear version of this platter mat. No clue if it will help sound but I hope it helps with static!
I have the LP120XBT-USB but not in that cool color scheme! Yours looks awesome!
What’s the deal with the tone arm lowering lever? Mine is very abrupt and you said your model doesn’t do that? Mine is kind of UP or DOWN no in between. Drops very fast.

Hey thanks very much I appreciate it! You may hear a slight difference in sound, I noticed the bass sounding tighter and the mids sounding more clear, but it may just be all in my head. For the tone arm lever, from my understanding it is supposed to drop gradually as the previous model had a tendency to drop really quick. From what I'm reading online it seems like silicone oil is a good fix. People are saying to put it in a small syringe or the tip of a screw driver and apply it to the piston. I have never done it before so I can't speak on the process but it seems like everyone is recommending it. I hope you fix everything soon and all goes smooth!

I just got this same acrylic platter. Am I supposed to put the rough side of the center label facing down so the record is on the side that’s all smooth?

I don't remember there being a rough side of the platter but if there is I would probably put it face down so that it does not make contact with the record

    The highs were obviously crisper.

Very nice, how much is the thickness of the acrylic platter.
Thsnk you for your response .

Thanks! I believe on amazon it says the thickness of the acrylic platter is 3mm. Google says that the Audio technica LP60 and LP120 slipmat is 1/8" (3.175 mm) thick - which is basically exactly the same, so it will definitely fit perfectly.

@@joshs3905 Thank you very much again, this is the most crucial thing as more tge thickness the returning tonearm if slightly lower may create acscratch pn the record, in extreme case not routine one .
