Helene here. They were still in high school when they started. This was filmed in their garage. Now they are in their twenties and have matured into their own sound. Their lyrics have matured ALLOT….their concert at Red Rocks on RUclips is excellent. The first time I heard this I was driving and about went off the road….I’m a Zep fan….my favorite band…and I thought for a second there, with that glorious howl, that there must be a Zeppelin song I had missed! I haven’t investigated them allot, but a am just so pleased that some young folk are willing to “Carry Fire”…. To quote Robert Plant. BTW, there is a short clip on RUclips of Plant commenting on Josh’s voice. Pretty funny….GVF got so trash3d by many older rockers for what? DARING to imitate Zeppelin? I think that’s great! Although they say that they are more influenced by The Stones, Aerosmith and others, it’s pretty obvious that Zep has had a big influence on them Josh doesn’t have the charisma of Plant…no doubt in large part because that kind of raw, testosterone fueled masculinity is no longer OK to most young people. I am hoping his voice lowers a bit with age, but it might stay in Getty Lee territory for life….who knows? But I sure as hell wish them all the luck in the world!
Also, they are all in their younger 20's. They are still kids in music. Their newest album won a few Grammy Awards for them. The new stuff sounds much less Led Zeppelin - ish. Look at the band's LIVE performance "Flower Power" from Brazil.
Let me point out that they were in their teens so that’s why they sound and wrote like teens. This was their first record and done in their garage. Check out their newer songs. They have matured and got some coaching from Elton John on stage presence and s clothing.
their older stuff is heavily influenced but mostly because of their age! i think you'd enjoy their new stuff, specifically LIVE performances, like broken bells (candlelight session), heat above, sacred the thread, age of man (all live)!!!
They started off so young - I do not think they ever tried imitating anyone, as those haters who bang on about this being LZ rip off. - This is the song that everyone "critiques". Despite their growing body of work. I would highly encourage you to listen to the full live performance at Red Rock. They are fantastic. They are awesome!!! YOu want to go into lyrics? Check them out - there is nothing juvenile about them -and Josh has a very magnetic presence. Look beyond. I would be interested to know how and why you checked out this song given there are so many of their songs on RUclips. Although they still have Highway Tune in their set list it is usually in their encore. Fans love the evolution of this wonderful band of brothers - and yes, technically Danny is not a family member - except he definitely has a great foster family. " Your mind is a stream of colours extending beyond our sky" - quite beauttiful - I do not know you but I am insisting you take yourself into their world. Red Rock Ampitheatre is an awesome live show. Might suggest the candlelight sessions also. One more thing - ZZ Top? Lyrics that come to mind are "She got legs. She knows how to use them" Good grief.
You nailed it! Look at some of the crap the great bands did put on their albums to fill the LP IMO. As for the comment, Josh looks too Juvenile!!!! Dude, they were teenagers there! Lol I'm 66 YO and I was there in the 70s and saw more Bands than I can remember. These guys Rock and they are improving all aspects of their music. They are Legit!
Have you heard The Warning? Their 2014 'Enter Sandman' cover went viral (23 million views) and their current cover with Alessia Cara is the first track on Metallica's Blacklist album, is on Marvel's Midnight Suns game, and is being played on Fox Sports. But try some of their 3 albums and 1 EP of original stuff, like 'Evolve' or 'Choke'.
I love your videos! I started watching when you started with Grace Van derwhaell! I love all the stuff you do!😁❤️I Love Grace and now I’m in Love with this band! GVF
He was a teenager! Written when the twins were 15-16 years old. Danny and Sam on bass 13 years old!!!! I sure hope you have listened to something newer!? This is exactly why I don’t like people to hear this as their first GVF song. They are phenomenal and in person; even better. Yes this was their first video
Glad you found them but this is one of their first and oldest songs. They have grown exponentially since this. Check out their latest album, The Battle at Garden's Gate. It is incredible and shows great growth. On that album, listen to Built by Nations, Broken Bells and the last song which is epic. I think they were all teenagers when they did this video. Oh, they won a Grammy in 2018 or 2019 for Best Rock Album.
As far as I see it GVF are inspired and infected by the whole classic rock era of the seventies not just Zep. To have young creative men be inspired by a sound that was, more than likely, 40 years old when they first heard it as boys and went, "YA THAT THAT'S WHAT I WANT TO DO." They could have easily been another emo band, or modern metal band, or any number of things. But they are ROCKING and I am both amazed and grateful to have them in the world.
He is 19 I believe here, the drummer and bass are 16. Now at 25, he gets crap for using his higher register too much. Poor guy can't win. 4 years later lyrics are phenomenal.
Kiszka, in Polish literally means a gut, intestine, even bowel. The other expression, is kaszanka, (kiszka) which is delicious kind od Polish kiełbasa.(blood sausage) Whenever you have chance, try it. The best way is to heat it in a skillet, with some onion, but cold one, goes as easy, as it’s gets. Btw. it’s not Kosher, and Jehowah Witnesses, are staying away, from it, because it contains blood. They don’t know, what they miss.
Are you nuts or what.. You said they are not at the level of the stones or led zeppelin?? This level is almost not attainnable by any Band...this guys are young and did you not see they played their own instruments (wow).. And yes his voice is very similar to Robert plant which i find incredible because i love led zeppelin..and iam glad my kids are going to experience this incredible sound....
If you want to be blown away, listen to The Weight of Dreams by Greta Van Fleet. Really anything from their new album is amazing. Their cover of Down by The River is pretty great too
You need to be listening to the new album the battle at Garden gate. But the one you mentioned? The EP? Yeah. That won. A Grammy for the best new rock album. And that was three or four years ago
I In No Way Taking Anything From Them,, But Long Before Greta Van Fleet,, These Groups Were/Are Putting Out Great Rock Music,, "Wolfmother",, "Rival Sons",, Etc. To Name Just A Few.
If someone wants to lose me in a talk, these words will do it for me, I never use them. They Don't Make whatever Like they Used To. I've told you before, I think, that I got so damn tired of hearing my aunts and uncles about today's music, remember I'm talking about the 50's and 60's rock etc. music.
Why haven’t you reacted to another Greta? What you’re looking for is their new album. Maybe you’ve viewed it already and don’t care for it. When Robert Plant says that they are the equivalent of Led Zeppelin I , kinda says something. They also opened twice for Elton Johns farewell tour. They deserve another shot from you. Your first was legit, just asking for another. Peace sir!
Kind of an unfair assessment when the song was literally 8 years old and they were teenagers filming in their parents basement. They’ve matured a lot and have found their own sound. Please do a reaction video to their newer stuff. Anything off of The Battle at Garden’s Gate is great but I HIGHLY recommend Heat Above. It’s lyrically and instrumentally beautiful.

They wrote this when they were 14.....check out the newest album Battle at Gardens gate..epic album
definitely recommend their new stuff like their song "heat above" or "built by nations"
Also, they are all in their younger 20's. They are still kids in music. Their newest album won a few Grammy Awards for them. The new stuff sounds much less Led Zeppelin - ish. Look at the band's LIVE performance "Flower Power" from Brazil.
Keep checking these guys out! This song is honestly one of their more basic songs, definitely check out their new music!
Let me point out that they were in their teens so that’s why they sound and wrote like teens. This was their first record and done in their garage. Check out their newer songs. They have matured and got some coaching from Elton John on stage presence and s clothing.
Heat Above by them IS A MUST!
their older stuff is heavily influenced but mostly because of their age! i think you'd enjoy their new stuff, specifically LIVE performances, like broken bells (candlelight session), heat above, sacred the thread, age of man (all live)!!!
These kids are born again rockers

Yess. The Warning!! Great band.
I love your videos! I started watching when you started with Grace Van derwhaell! I love all the stuff you do!😁❤️I Love Grace and now I’m in Love with this band! GVF
this was their first song they had ever written I think in 2011,12! crazy.
You're The One!!! Simply beautiful
Thx, Terri. I will circle around to their newer stuff. Thanks again
@@daxmusix So was Polish band, called Decapitated. At the age of 15-17, they went wold wide.
Totally agree!
I recomend you to listen to their newest albums.
They have really evolved into something special! It's worth to keep an eye on them
Have you done a reaction of their newer stuff yet, I.. Heat Above, or Light My Love??
Glad you found them but this is one of their first and oldest songs. They have grown exponentially since this. Check out their latest album, The Battle at Garden's Gate. I Personally Just Truly Thank The Music Gods For ANY Groups That Are Putting Out/Keeping Alive REAL Rock Music. 🙏
Just wondering if you compare bands with other bands in all of your music reaction videos?
Not very often, though I do sometimes compare individual aspects of a band to an aspect of another band, such as a sound or a voice.
As far as I see it GVF are inspired and infected by the whole classic rock era of the seventies not just Zep. They’re kids and already have a Grammy (2019)
He is 19 I believe here, the drummer and bass are 16. Now at 25, he gets crap for using his higher register too much. Poor guy can't win. 4 years later lyrics are phenomenal.
gotta react to more would love to see it.

Stardust chords on their newest album!!
In this video he is only 18 so he is a teenager

React to the new album The Battle at Gardens Gate, you won't be disappointed.

They were all teenagers in high school when they made this. Hence, the silly lyrics. Their new stuff is much more mature.
he is a teenager
They sound fine to me. Rolling Stones. I'm more lay back most of the time, I've always have been, nothing to do with age.
🥰🥰GVF🥰🥰
I am a die hard Led fan, but believe me this band has come far away from there "Highway tune" song. Cheak out "Weight of dreams" from 2020 album.
Hi could u please react to Bob Dylan's 'Murder Most Foul' which was released in 2020!!!!
Please listen to something more recent. Tears of Rain candlelight session is a great one.

I plan to do another one soon. Thanks for the reminder
@@daxmusix here’s another reminder haha
Only great band out there!
