- Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro provided an update on the investigation into Saturday's assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Shapiro said the shooting at the rally was "absolutely unacceptable and tragic." Maurice DuBois anchored a CBS News Special Report.

That is heartbreaking! To hear an innocent man was killed just because of who he supported for President!! What a great dad and husband who saved his girl’s! I’m pretty sure President Trump will be there to support this family through the year’s! Praying for the other’s that have been shot! Praying for the USA!🙏🏼 praying that the hate will stop!!💔🙏🏼

This was an attack on our democracy but united we will stand. My heart goes out to the families of all victims in this senseless act of cowardness. Whether you vote red or blue, it doesn't matter. Both those colors come together to make our American flag. The political party we choose to stand with doesn't define the men and women we are first and foremost. Mothers,fathers,sisters,brothers,aunts,uncles. We are all human and deserve to feel safe in our country ❤
