Oh man, I hate to hear about these kind of troubles while on the road far from home. One of the things I love about your content is you just report the news as it unfolds, good or bad. It keeps it real for those of us that have similar issues while on the road. Eric
Thanks, Eric, I appreciate your comment. Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
You had me at first when you mentioned purchasing a new bike…my thought was anything but another GoldWing would be like going backwards. Lol. Been great watching you two. Pretty close to similar route my wife and I had done! Stay safe all!
If they had put a proper 6th overdrive on the FJR1300, it would be a nice option. But Yamaha had to recall their FJR 6 speed bikes, and replace the entire gearset. If you get one that has been professionally repaired through the recall, it might be a good option. But I am a bit nervous about getting a bike that received a whole new gearset, because it requires removing the entire engine. People say that driving an FJR1300 is one of the more thrilling experiences they've ever had, because the engine is so good.
Before I read through the comments my first thoughts were my Pop saying “Did you check the fuse?” Great channel! Love your adventures and your outlook!
Amazing and wonderful life-style you have. I’m envious! “A direction but no particular destination…! I LOVE IT!! When i do it i say that i’m giving the “horse” it’s head. Stay safe..have fun. Thank you for the video!
Omigosh- unbelievable! So sorry that happened- why couldn’t it hold out until the coming anniversary edition… that would be amazing for you! We alway love watching you guys!
Oh, and I loved the comment about how the other brand would be a Honda Goldwing 2024 Hahaha, that was a good one. Oh and Kakes' Trick or Treat put a smile on my face, too. Well done to you both.
My life-long dream bike has always been a Goldwing, When I was finally ready to go for it, and I almost bought the same one Craig has... I got bitten ( & smitten ) by a Spyder 😁🤣🤣 (true story !!!). I've had my Zumo XT for almost 2 years, absolutely love it, super bright screen, even in sunlight, waterproof, made for motorcycles, and so far mine has been bullet proof. Hope all is well Rich & Kake 👊😎👍
Hey, Wayne...Yeah, I bought the Zumo XT and also love it. I found out that I missed a fuse on my original inspection. Now I got my Navi back. We are going to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
@@BootsandJeansRiders One of the first things I did when I got my 07 Wing was replace all the standard fuses with GloBlo fuses that light up when they blow to make roadside troubleshooting easier. But never blew a fuse to find out.
Hey AB USA, It is all sorted out, but only after I shelled out $$$ for the Garmin lol. Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
I hardly ever use the navigation of my goldwing, it is only good for driving from point a to b. I use a TomTom rider, I am very satisfied with it, I can experience beautiful routes, it is specially designed for motorcyclists, beautiful winding roads and you get to places you would otherwise never come. Wishing you many more safe kilometers or miles for you. ✌
Yeah, Motorvrienden De Pallieters your videos are evidence of the TOM TOM rider. You ride some really great twisted roads. Fortunately for us, the problem has been resolved it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. I only found out after buying the Zumo lol. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
You mean the WING broke down twice now ??? MAN!! Glad you got it fixed!! I bought myself one of those fancy Garmin Zumo XT rigs for Christmas...Can't find it now...Disappeared...I was going to put it on my bike....Hmmmmm Wonder where it might be now ???
That's not a breakdown, its a can't see where our next turn is to get to our campsite. And now we don't have your Zumo. did you look under the couch. Thanks for watching
Hello Rich, I’m so sorry to hear about the issue you are having with your Wing! It can be so frustrating when something like that happens. I can relate to how you must be feeling😮 Last October I finally got a replacement for my electrically sick 2018 DCT Tour. I ended up with a 2023 DCT Tour. I hope you get it resolved soon, and without too much expense. I recommend the 2023 DCT Tour😂 God Bless, Loyal.
Hey, Loyaltj, My next bike will definitely be a new wing. Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike. Thanks for watching.
@@BootsandJeansRiders: Good Morning Rich! I’m so glad it was nothing more than a fuse that was causing your problem! I hope your trip was smooth sailing from then on, God bless and happy trails from now on. Loyal.
I was really hoping you had it fixed before the video ended! I have an older Garmin, with basecamp, it can be a pain, but it seems to do a decent job. I also use Google maps on my phone, that seems to work quite well also. Good luck on getting this all sorted out!
Thanks, Patrick. Me too lol, really didn't want to spend the money on a new Garmin. Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
Correct if I’m wrong but it sounds like you’re SOGW (Stuck on Gold Wing).😅 You’re not alone, I’m SOGW too! 😂🤩 Great video! Thanks for sharing. Ride Safely!
I've owned three 'Wings with factory Nav. It's not worth a crap when it's working perfectly. Right choice on the Garmin. I've had one for years. Sad thing is the Nav on the '06 thru '17 is made by Garmin. It should have been a fine unit. Happy Trails!
Yeah, Clay, it truly is sad that they put the worst Garmin on the gold wings. We/I am really happy I got the Zuno XT. Too bad my bike had to have a problem first.
I've had the same problem with the sat-nav on my Goldwing , I also went through the same sequences as you to try and resurrect it..nada. Turns out there is a problem with the PCB which is behind the screen. Unfortunately Honda have a replacement part but it would be cheaper (and probably more reliable) to buy a new bike ! Keep safe.
Hey, Phillpacameron, Yeah I would love a new bike. Fortunately, my problem was a fuse that I miss on my first inspection. Yeah the XT is a great unit...loving it so far.
My 2005 GW didnt have Nav. but would sometimes freeze and the disconnect battery proceedure worked. no time limit I just waited aminute and reconnected it an it worked again. For this I would have taken the dash cover off and checked the wiring plugs for wear and corrosion. those wiring pins turn green with age and need dielectric grease and a good cleaning occasionally . worst case is the display grenaded and Garmin is the solution till you find a new one.........................JB..
Never had any problems with my Navi system until now. Nothing seemed to work so I purchased the Garmin. Even though I like the Garmin, I wasn't happy that the bike Navi was down, so I rechecked the fused and found out that I missed it during the first inspection.
Sorry about the issues that you guys are having. Funny thing was that I was headed to Biloxi this morning to catch up with frienfs that moved from the S.F.Bay Area but it got cancelled 2 hours ago. Back home in Vacherie right now for a couple of weeks.
Y'all was close to me (Birmingham) with the last couple vids. Aggravatin' when having any problem on an adventure. 7 Gold Wings and the only problem I had was on my '88, when the alternator brushes stuck open. Battery died and it was weekend. So, rode 100 miles and swap batteries with my riding companion, ride another 100 miles and repeat to complete the trip. Guessing you didn't get it working by yourself? Yeah, I'm not good with cliff hangers.....🤣
Yeah, it was very aggravating. Got it working after we got back home. Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
The other thing I didn't see here is to make sure you reseat any connections between the GPS in the trunk and the display. There may be one under the seat as that seems to be the place the wiring harnesses split between front and back. Also, in a darker area or garage shine a flashlight on the display when you turn the key on. There is a backlight on the display. If that is off you probably won't see anything unless you shine a flashlight directly on it. Good luck.
If you have had work done on your Wing a while ago, it might be the connection under your dash that might be the problem. I have a 2012 Goldwing and have had navigation problems since day 1 with it and got a Garmin Zumo that is doing wonders when I travel. What I don't like with the Goldwing GPS is that the radio stops when the GPS talks.. I don't think you should change your Wing since the new Goldwings, (since 2018) are automatic and lost the Goldwing looks. The best thing, bring your bike to a good place where they can look why and fix the problem. I also wonder if you speedometer or odometer work, mine quit once and it was because a switch behind my dashboard was not connected correctly. Good luck and safe travels.
Hey Pascal...It was a fuse that I missed on my first inspection. It's fixed now. I have no plans to get a new bike yet. I still have many more miles to ride with BIG EASY.
@@BootsandJeansRiders I sold my first Wing with 186 000km on it and my 2012 is only at 145 000 and am not about to sell it but now, have a NC750X to go off road at the same time and hard to choose. But then again, I am doing Iron Butt rides and the Wing is the best.
Electronics can be a real pain. Not only to diagnose, but to fix. Sometimes we get lucky and it is a simple, and inexpensive, fix. Other times...might as well buy a new ride. I'm all for buying the new ride. Hahahaha. I trust that by now you have it all sorted out though. Y'all be safe
Yeah TennRides, I'm all for the new ride too lol. Yes, I found the problem but only after buying the Zumo. Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
@@BootsandJeansRiders I have had fuses that looked OK, I spent hours taking apart wires, splicing wires, etc to get the problem fixed. Only to find out later that the problem was the fuse, I finally started checking them with a meter, instead of just looking, and found one blown. I can relate to your frustration, sir. Glad y'all got it fixed. On a positive note, Kake is probably happy. Hahaha
Well that sucks. With everything you tried, I'd have to guess that you have a bad screen. 160,000 miles is incredible! I just bought a Zumo XT also. Good unit. Safe travels guys.
Yeah brother, I never had a problem with paper maps lol. Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
@@BootsandJeansRiders Do you remember which fuse you replaced? It will make it easier for us when we start looking at fuses. Always great content from you both. Thanks for sharing!
Sorry about that, I ride a 97 Goldwing Aspencade Gl1500, Ive upgraded everything on it. For navigation I use Ways on my Samsung phone. Phone is mounted on handle-bars , sound and music play right through the speakers, no problems.
Happy to see your both back on the road. 👍 Unfortunately I have not experienced your issue, so I have no "this will fix" it advice. I use my Garmin on my 2016. Hardly ever use the Honda unit. Now as far as the choice of a New bike... I suggest finding a low mileage Gen-5. Such as a 2016 -17. That's what I did in 2018 instead of a 2018+. I saved a couple thousand$$+ swapping my accessories from my old 2005 to the zero mile new 2016. And finally, I added the Henry Final Drive. This made any desire for a Gen-6 standard trans go away! I have no interest in the DCT. Tony 2Wheel4Fun test rode my 2016. Stay safe. Look 4ward to you continued adventure. Corventure Dave
Yes, she did lol. Fortunately for us, the problem has been resolved it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. I only found out after buying the Zumo lol. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
So sorry , your having trouble , but im thinking the connection inside where you put those chips in , sometimes any dust can cause it not to register, try blowing some air in there , it's a long shot , it's that stupid ...also that wire on the neg terminal , does that wire go to where the nav systems is in the truck, wire maybe pinched ...keep us posted how you make out ....god bless , ride safe
Edwardo, Thanks for the suggestions I really appreciate that. I found the problem, but not until later after buying a Zumo. It was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
Good day ! Ugg… hate that when bike acts up. NAV is a big inconvenience, that (NAV) happened to me on the Pan America quite a bit. Are you both back in the road again ?
He, Craig, we heard of the Navi being a problem on the wing but didn't believe it until this happened. We are not back on the road yet, Kake's bike is getting repaired from the rear-ended accident. Hopefully, we will be back out soon after it's fixed. This and future videos are from our last trip.
I highly recommend the 2022 Goldwing because the only difference between the 2022 and the 2023 is the price, same bike just cost more. I traded my 2005 in for the 2018 then I traded the 2018 in for the 2022 and I must admit I made the best decision I could have made. It's time for you to upgrade to the new technology that Goldwing offers. So far I have had no problems and I have driven it from Dallas to El Paso Texas and from El Paso Texas across the state twice to Louisiana twice once to the wingding and second to the round up in Gonzales L.A. It rides like a dream and the fun part is putting all the latest accessories on your bike. Good Luck!
Hi Mr International95, Thanks for watching, but there will be NO new Wing for Rich, the problem is solved. His 2015 is looking ahead for many more cross country miles. We were at Round Up in Gonzales, and had a blast riding in the rain.
Would love a new wing... I'm not in the market for a new bike yet. But when I am, Its a wing again for sure. Fortunately for us, I missed a fuse on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike
Yeah, Derrick...I was seriously looking the Victory prior to getting my Wing. The problem has been resolved it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. I only found out after buying the Zumo lol. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
On my 2007 I used a garmin on the handle bar. The 2018 has CarPlay so it has back ups to the internal. On the Pan Am I use Garmin xt. BMW phone only. Not having the display is not a good thing. Me I would start with smacking the display 😂. Go with the 2021 and up, it has the larger trunk.
Hey man. Judging from what I saw, you need to do a full discharge. Try fully disconnecting the battery. Meaning both cables needs to be disconnected. While they are disconnected cycle the ignition 3 times. After that reconnect and try. Let me know if this work.
Hi Rich I have a friend that was have problems with his Nav on his 2012 same as your I believe. Have you tried resetting the nav unit in the trunk? There is a reset button maybe in the Nav book that comes with the wing… best of luck pray all is well on your end.. Joe
Thanks, Joe...I didn't try that but Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
@@BootsandJeansRiders Could you please let the rest of us know which fuse you changed as there are many fuses? Also has that cheese blown again or is your navigation just like new again? Thanks just wondering.
Subbing. I have been a Ryder for a long time. My 1st bike was a Cushman Scooter. LOL, it was bigger than me! We lived on n a dead end street so traffic wasn’t a worry. My 1st street bike was a 1983 LTD Kawasaki, I still have it in my garage. Would need new tires/battery before becoming road worthy again. My current bike is a 2021 F-3S Spyder by Can Am. 1330cc 3 cyc. I was worried that the power wouldn’t satisfy me. But I was wrong. It’s 115hp and 96 Ft. Lbs. of torch. It’s got plenty of power. My last street bike was a 1997 Valkyrie std. loved that bike. The wife and I could ride all day into the night with NO saddle sore. Miss that bike!😢 I had a major stroke about 7 years ago that took my balance away! 😡 I thought my biking days were over, then I saw the F-3 Spyder and thought, there’s my answer. Just completed my 1st season on the F-3 and love it. Back in the wind baby!!! Glad you found your simple fuse trouble. Pretty easy fix.
Man DJ, You have some serious experience. Thanks for subbing we appreciate it. Glad you loving your Spyder Can-Am. We had a chance to test ride one when they were on their US tour several years ago, they came to San Jose Ca.
@@BootsandJeansRiders your welcome on the sub. Keep your head on a swivel. I’ve had many times I could have been hit/killed but I watch out for the other guy! 😉
Old tech but it still works. And no battery or signal strength to worry about! A GPS will lie to you! It's not rare for me to use 3x5 cards with my turns written on it. And I have a Garmin and factory GPS.
Nothing more that would throw a wrench into things. But, to have the most important part of your bike is the NAVIGATION SYSTEM. I hope all works out for you brother. I own a 2018 Harley Davidson Road King. I LOVE IT
So very true David. Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike. Thanks for watching.
Yup, I heard about it, and now I can say it happened to me. Fortunately for us, the problem has been resolved it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. I only found out after buying the Zumo lol. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
Is older better, less electronics and not everything tied to radio?? Really wanted a 15 anniversary in the red/black , but my mechanic friend pushes oldie 1500?
Hey Thomas, we were heading eastbound in this video. We live in California and were touring the country. We are originally from New Orleans and have been to Pensacola several times.
Thanks for responding! I have been through three motorcycles in the past 6 months. After having an 15 FJR 1300, I did a trade for an 07 Goldwing in January. I ride that bike to Washington DC in April and I decided that I want to do a trip to Los Angeles next year and I sold the 07 and bought an 18 two weeks ago (there was nothing wrong with the 07, it only had 24,000 miles when I sold it, just a bit heavier but rode very well, it’s different from the 18). Keep me posted on any trips you have this way! Blessings and be safe out there!
Vmax...I don't think you will have any problems with the 2023 Wing, they had 4 years to work out the minor bugs. Fortunately, it was a blown fuse that I missed on the first inspection. The GPS is all good now.
Beside the GPS , the screen show any other input? . Can be that your screen die .My radio/dvd did the same thing but radio / dvd / gps / and cameras got not show so the screen was bad.
It was the GPS and it controlled everything. Fortunately for us, I missed a fuse on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kake's bike. Thanks for watching.
Hey, Lee...You are absolutely correct. Fortunately for us, the problem has been resolved it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. I only found out after buying the Zumo lol. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
She would be a lot of help with her mask if you two robbed a back wouldn’t she😂. I don’t have that problem cause I don’t have a fairing. My phone and my Sena are my navigation. Though I have broke a couple phones and they are not cheap either. Hope you get it all fixed and hopefully you two are back up in our area June 3rd for GPMM. Ride safe Pham!
Hey Phamily, Yeah the bank was going to be our next stop but my GPS couldn't find one lol. The problem has been resolved it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. I only found out after buying the Zumo lol. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike. We would love to come to the GPMM, but we will be in New Orleans for our high school 40th class reunion.
Thanks Stephen. Fortunately for us, I missed a fuse on my original inspection. I replaced it and the Navi is back working. We decided to put the Zumo on Kake's bike
Oh wow. I thought you had a real problem like a blown head gasket or a bad stator. Just get you a Ram mount, strap your smartphone to it and keep rolling! 😂
It could still be a software problem. Try someone elses SD card. I replaced mine with a newer version recently, the Bypass is finally on it!! Doesnt show me riding off road anymore!! My Nav system is the only aggravating thing on the bike. Not being able to turn it on while I'm underway infuriates me! Basically means I won't have nav for the next 150-200 miles!!!
Hey Rick, How's it going? Fortunately for us, I missed a fuse on my original inspection. Yeah, I need to update it too. I purchased the Zumo and decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
Goldwing, any year is better than any touring bike out there now, except maybe the Yamaha touring model, I would go with the Goldwing but the Yamaha is the only other touring model I would consider
Yeah Robert I have heard really great things about the Yamaha Venture and the Super Tenere. I haven't ridden any of them but would love to get in the saddle.
I would have disconnected the positive lead to the battery and then put it to ground to reboot the whole system and get out the bugs. Hope you fixed it by now. 🙂 my goldwing is a 1994 works fine for me. Ah, I saw at the end you disconnect the ground, that doesn't always work. I have done it with my toyota sienna for many year. Put the positive to ground once disconnected. Guaranteed to remove all the corruption. Good luck.
Hey Glen how's it going? Yeah, it was a blown fuse that I missed on the first inspection. An easy fix this time, but I heard that it could have been something far worse.
I did NOT see you disconnect the main NEG cable , only 2 side connection. I work on these systems on 18 wheelers, radar , abs , side radars , auto trans . I can tell you the factory tells us techs , when all else fails , disconnect ALL ground cables going to the batteries WAIT 10 MINUTES to allow ALL capacitors to drain out. reinstall after 10 minutes , clear all codes and try to see where you are. I see it's been 8 months , so by now you already fixed it ?
Yeah Richard you can't go wrong with the phone...They are always up to date. I just don't like my phone on my bike because it's my primary form of communication. If I go down and separate from the bike/phone, then I can't call for help. So I keep it in my upper jacket pocket. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it.
By the way, I'm from Lafayette but move to Beaumont Tx in 1968. Was inspired to ride motorcycles at 5yr old . Been rolling since I was 14. I now ride a 2014 Valkyrie with 32k miles and love it. Never wanted a Harley that inspired me🤣
Try unhooking both battery terminals and putting an .010 ohms register clamped between both terminals .let this like this for a day. This should do a complete drain on the computer. Hook terminals to battery. This drain should put it back to factory setting.
Could it be a fuse I know I Bluetooth my phone through my 2015 Honda F6B and use my navigation from that maybe it's a fuse I'm not sure just trying to help
For what a person pays for these types of motorcycles, you shouldn’t have to pay for a new sd card. Good luck on trying to solve your problem with the navigation system
Understand David. What something costs has absolutely nothing do with technical or mechanical problems. From time to time an issue comes about. Then there are others that experience zero issues in the life of ownership. Peace
Hey Workingdogcentre. We were on our Bikecation when it occurred and was just trying to settle down for the night. To answer your question, I rather figure out the problem on my own if possible. The good news is, the problem was a blown fuse that I missed on my first inspection. If I couldn't figure it out, then yes to the dealer I would go.
Sorry you are problems with your bike ; have a 2012 Honda gold wing ; whenever I shift from 1 st to 2 nd she jumps back to neutral; what's your take on that ?
Hey, Stephen...That has happened to me many times. I am a quick shifter and sometimes in my haste to shift fast, I up tap too lightly. Then the bike falls back into neutral. just make sure you push up harder on the shifter. If it continues I would get it to a mechanic.
What kind problem solving is that 🤔🤔, 160K he just breaking it in, many more miles to go, when the mileage goes back to 000000000 then its time for a new. MAYBE!
@@karenwilliams3141 yep... I know that you can get 400k out of a Wing if the proper maintenance gets done... I've got a couple of friends that have over 300k and they are still riding them!!
Yeah, Patrick, the phones are excellent for GPs, they are always up to date. And the problem was a fuse that I missed on the initial inspection. We did get the Zumo, and we are going t put it on Kake's bike. Thanks for checking in.
The words “GoldWing” & “Problems” are not supposed to be used in the same sentence 🤔. Mo over at Mo’s Motorcycle Journey has a video on easily resetting the GoldWing’s ECU which may fix a myriad of electronic issues if your other solutions don’t work. ruclips.net/video/1hMHro6ALiU/видео.html Be safe you two!
I couldn't agree more (The words “GoldWing” & “Problems” are not supposed to be used in the same sentence) I just watched the video thanks. It was simple... Ah geeeez! Wow, man...160K?? Definitely think you should go with a new hmmmm, uh......GW! I got lucky when I found my 2018 sitting in SLC ignored and forgotten...look at you diagnosing the problem--I would just use your phone, no??
Kake and I were talking about the 2018s that are still sitting. I would definitely look at a leftover new wing for sure. Nah...Phones on the bike are one of my pet peeves. If I'm alone on a back road and should have an unscheduled dismount, separating me from the bike, then the phone is useless when I need help. I keep it in my upper right jacket (That's just me).

I didn't make it to the end of the comments, so if you found the solution, all good. I had this on my 2017 - I took the SD card and erased everything on it - worked like magic. THE SD - NOT THE NAV!
Hey Dennis Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike. Thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated.
I believe it’s unnecessary to have all that electronic devices on a bike your cell phone has all that☮️that way they can build a cheaper bike up front.
Yeah. if I could get a wing at a cheaper price, it's on. i/we don't keep our phone attached to the bike because it's useless if I go down and the phone and I are separated.
@@davem5333 WOW this is my first time hearing about GloBlo. Time to get it. Thanks Dave
awe man! sorry for your issues man! here's to getting it all sorted out!
Hey AB USA, It is all sorted out, but only after I shelled out $$$ for the Garmin lol. Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
Good deal glad to see it was just a fuse even a Goldwing can blow a fuse occasionally 👍🏿💯
That's really cool and interesting knowing those bad side of that motorcycle my friend. Keep it up and more vidz to come.
Thanks, RodKris, will do!
I have a 2018 Goldwing dct....Awesome! Good luck man! Do the right thing!
Yeah as soon as I'm in the market, I'm getting a 6 generation for sure.
😂 Excellent set of options for the next bike!
LOL, I think so too William. 😀

Hello Rich,
I’m so sorry to hear about the issue you are having with your Wing! It can be so frustrating when something like that happens. I can relate to how you must be feeling😮 Last October I finally got a replacement for my electrically sick 2018 DCT Tour. I ended up with a 2023 DCT Tour. I hope you get it resolved soon, and without too much expense. I recommend the 2023 DCT Tour😂

Yup, I'm SOGW lol. Once you ride the best, nothing else will do. Thanks for watching.
Need to invest in a Rand McNally atlas. Good old paper map has saved me many times. GPS is always giving squirrelly directions
Yeah, Squatch, can never go wrong with good old reliable paper maps. Thanks for watching.
Awe Man...Will you get another chance to go see your friends?
Good luck.
Thanks for the info Mike, I appreciate it. Fortunately for us, I missed a fuse on my original inspection.
Unfortunately I have not experienced your issue, so I have no "this will fix" it advice.

Thank you so much, Karen. Yeah, it was a simple fix.
Good Luck!

Hello... My 2010 GW also have freeze screen. Before that it was blink and stop in the position navigation display start. Can it be the fuse also
Did you ever find the cause? I was thinking bad unit (screen).
Man, that's great advice coming from a tech. Yeah, fortunately, it was a blown fuse I missed on my initial inspection. Thanks for the advice.
Couldn't tell when this happened, but in this case I'd use my phone both for navigation and speed. Some app have both
Yeah Richard you can't go wrong with the phone...They are always up to date.

Man the Valkyrie is a fast monster. A Gold Wing without all the extra plastic. I love them.
Low mileage as new as you can afford. Be safe, have fun.
Yeah brother soon real soon.
Try unhooking both battery terminals and putting an .010 ohms register clamped between both terminals .let this like this for a day. This should do a complete drain on the computer. Hook terminals to battery. This drain should put it back to factory setting.
Thanks this is really good advice. Fortunately it was a fuse. It hasn’t blown out again .

Just buy the new Wing Rich.... 160k your ready for it💯👊🏼😎
Hey Dan, Man I would love to get a new wing but I want to get at least get 200k on Big Easy first Then it is on.
@@BootsandJeansRiders I don't blame you brother... Get all the life out of Big Easy first👊🏼😎
What kind problem solving is that 🤔🤔, 160K he just breaking it in, many more miles to go, when the mileage goes back to 000000000 then its time for a new. MAYBE!
@@karenwilliams3141 yep... I know that you can get 400k out of a Wing if the proper maintenance gets done... I've got a couple of friends that have over 300k and they are still riding them!!
Guys, what about the GPS (google maps or whatever) on your phone? That should cover you until you get to the repair shop.
Yeah, Patrick, the phones are excellent for GPs, they are always up to date. And the problem was a fuse that I missed on the initial inspection. We did get the Zumo, and we are going t put it on Kake's bike. Thanks for checking in.
Have to go back to the old school way and buy a road atlas 😎👍
You Know I will LOL.
The problem has been resolved it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. I only found out after buying the Zumo lol. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
@@BootsandJeansRiders …. Nice! I have the Zumo 595LM that I’ve had for a few years and am still learning g how to use the features. Be safe guy!
Rand McNally makes a pocket size map book. More people get lost when using a nav system anyhow....
Yeah, I definitely need to get one.
It's just a fuse, mine has blown twice. #26 5 amp?
Mine was # 22 the battery fuse.
Zumo XT, Mounted with a EZ GPS MOUNT. Awesome combo for navigation, Honda NAV sucks.
Yeah mine is back working but I got the Zumo and love it. Thanks Scott.
Solution - Street Glide….
LOL...I'll pass.
Sorry about your luck Rich. I know a foolproof way to fix it, trade it in for a Harley 😂 I hope you find the solution brother.
LOL Sorry Joe, can't do Harley, love them but I love my Gold Wing waaaay too much. lol, The problem has been resolved it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. I only found out after buying the Zumo lol. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
@@BootsandJeansRiders awesome. Glad to hear you fixed the problem. You'll come around one day 😉
I didn't make it to the end of the comments, so if you found the solution, all good. I had this on my 2017 - I took the SD card and erased everything on it - worked like magic. THE SD - NOT THE NAV!
Wow, great advice. It was the fuse that had blown.
can't go wrong with Garmin if you get it mounted it were you can change from bike to bike or car i used cigarette plug
Yeah, I love it so far...My problem was a fuse. It's fixed now, but I still love this Garmin.
That's why we won't use the bike navigation for trips we use our phone
Yeah, the phones are excellent for GPs, they are always up to date.
It could be just the screen itself
Hey Dennis Fortunately for us, it was a fuse that I missed on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike. Thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated.
Sooo... did you ever find out what was the cause of the dead GPS?
Get the 2023 that will fix the problem 😂
OH YES!!!
OOps, just found your response to motoramblings... never mind...
Phones are excellent for GPS...They are always updated. Fortunately for us, I missed a fuse on my original inspection. We decided to put the Zumo on Kakes' bike.
New wing sounds nice
You might need 2 happy wife happy life ?
Yup, Happy wife happy life and "New Wing, Good Thing" lol
I am a very HAPPY wife, It was an easy fix the $2.00 fuse was change and TaDAAAA! its working. hmmmmmmm I'm wondering if it was really an oversight or did Rich wanted to buy ME a GPS hmmmmm. Thank you BABY I appreciate it.😘😘
Any who NO NEW BIKE for RICH, to all of you🤨🤨🤨 that was trying to ENTICE him to get a new one, with the get the "2021, 2022, 2023 wing," let me just say I would have taken BIG EASY completely apart from ruter to the tutter inside out no screw left unturned to find the problem 🤣🤣🤣🤣 BIG EASY have a lot of miles to GO!
Thanks for watching, side note: I'm glad Children watches our channel, he wasn't this CALM! he even blew a FUSED! not just BIG EASY!🤣🤣🤣
LOL, You are welcome, sweetheart. OH! You got jokes...(I'm glad Children watches our channel, he wasn't this CALM! he even blew a FUSED! not just BIG EASY!🤣🤣🤣)
Electronic gremlins are never fun!!!
LOL...Never fun.
2012to2017best
Yeah, We love ours and not getting a new no time soon.
Maybe a software update?
Yup, it does need an upgrade.
