I like that the developers team and director can play their own games. By this I mean they are not disconnected from their game. They have spent time probably to play their own game to verify it works how they intend it to. Sure they have play testers, but they enjoy their own games enough to see it works well AND they are not afraid to play their own game in front of fans and new players. Massive respect for Capcom
you need to take into account some people working on games spend a lot of time playing some less... for example 3D artists will not have hundreds of hours in game because their work pipeline, while encounter designer will have tons of hours in...

I’m a dude. I’ve always picked male, and am very happy about it, but I have always looked at all the sets in both genders and couldn’t help feeling how a certain set of greaves or vambraces from a female set would look great with the pieces I put together sometimes. This is an excellent step to take and I’m even more hyped for this game now.
I love the hunting game play, but there was just so much charm and fun in Ryozo exploring the other aspects of the game. That, and it was just hilarious when you finally noticed what he was doing. It felt like watching a group of friends just having fun in Monster Hunter, and there is nothing disappointing about that.
This is 100% what playing with the gang would’ve been like, 1 is off fishing and bird watching, the other cooking a 5 star meal ( *cooked lettuce with mushrooms and honey lmao* ) while we’re fighting for our lives. The one guy blowing himself up with a barrel bomb ( _YOU CAN ROLL THEM NOW!?_ ) and just altogether just chilling. 12/10 livestream, 100% I’m going to preorder and wishlist, *-where do I sell my kidney at?-*
From what I’m seeing this is gonna be one of the best games to chill with the boys on. The seamless camp transitions and allowing for the quests to be on the same map was genius
1:20:42 Layered armor/transmog being available in the base game again (and not forcing players to wait for an dlc expansion like iceborne and sunbreak for all available armor to become layered armor) is greatly appreciated. Doing new MH games right by making layer armor/transmog a base game feature and not locked behind a dlc expansion. Edit: I guess I was wrong about Sunbreak locking most of the layered armor like iceborne did and base game Rise had both lr and hr armor for layer armor. Context: my Rise experience was after some title updates of Sunbreak so I started Rise, finished all main and side quests without doing rampages (outside of story), made all the decos I wanted and finally started Sunbreak where I found all of the layered armors.
Layered armors were available in Rise, Sunbreak just added more, but you had to finish the story and get the vouchers from the rampage game mode. There's definitely room for more improvement, I just wanna be able to get the layered by hunting like normal, getting parts, crafting them without having to wait to reach the endgame Unlocking the layered after craft the normal armor would be great (If they talk about it in the video, sorry I'm only halfway through. I'll be excited though)
Rise did it right? You had to beat Narwa to unlock it and then it was unlocked period. Iceborne did it terribly by locking it to endgame and much rarer drops.
If you look at the quest rewards after the 2nd Doshaguma hunt, there's a ticket item. After some frame-by-framing when it gets scrolled over, it says "Doshaguma certificate 5" I'm wondering if these are what are used for layered armor.

Dosha has probably high rank stats so the hunt lasts longer with base weapons. I hope the game is not too undertuned and that hunts actually last a bit
Thank goodness, I was worried that doshaguma would be early game. It'd have been harder for it to be a big scary bear monster if it was easy to kill, and it thankfully seems like that's not the case
There's no need for a separate area now, so the "gathering hub", if you want to call it that, is just each region's towns/guild bases. An incredible change if you ask me.
God this game has come so far. Its so cool seeing the games over time becoming more ambitious. I thought peak was reached in World but Capcom slapped me and said look at this.
@@timeytk they really did just took world and made everything better, I loved world but my biggest gripe was the lack of variety, and wilds has already hit us with five new monsters that are all unique classes! Tenderization is finally replaced, the overall hunting experience is so damn seamless, it’s gets harder and harder to wait with each passing day!
Man the live chat on this stream was terrible. Some really offensive stuff that clearly drove people away. Think I watched the stream lost about half its viewership in under 30 minutes despite interesting stuff happening. Really need to get some moderation on that. Edit: I later learned there was, in fact, moderation during the stream, though many users were bypassing it. I'm 100% on the side that, realistically, live chat on stuff like this has absolutely nothing to offer, mostly because it really doesn't add anything to the experience. Since, even if they removed all the offensive messages and spam, it wouldn't be possible to have any meaningful conversation about the game and I don't believe it was ever interacted with by the devs. Really hope the team in charge of this Monster Hunter social media sees how giving an open platform for detractors can muddy the waters of what looks like an absolutely stunning game and a great stream. Nobody deserves to be turned away from a live stream about a game they're excited for due to some guy spamming slurs in a chat. We're all unfathomably hyped for this game, and I'd much rather the devs spend their time hearing the majority masses than having to silence the minority of senseless detractors that want none more than to ruin the experience for others.

Not sure why people are looking too deep into the genderlock armor thing. It could be as simple as “hey the male version of the belt looks better, wish my female hunter could wear it” “Wow I like the helmet on the female armor, I want it for my male hunter” Like it’s been years where people saying some version of the armor looks better, and now we got more options to choose from, no idea what people are complaining about
The live chat was terrible, as soon as they said the armors are now unisex both sides started fighting. The way I see it, as long as it's for the sake of more fashion then everything's fine.
alpha is when a game is in the early stages of development, for MHWilds that was years ago. right now they're at the end of Beta and in a polish, fine tuning, final balance and performance optimization phase to prepare for release in q1 2025
the game is an alpha, but what you see is an extremely polished vertical slice, not the current state of the game, at best the current state of the part of the game we are allowed to see.
@@FractalPrism. Preproduction can take years, especially if core features and direction just isn't fun. Production starts, when all vertical slices and test versions are fun enough and allow a glimpse of what the game could be in a big scheme. That's when the initial features are more shaped out and other planned features are coming into existance. Alpha here just means, all mandatory features are complete (which means it's hacked and taped together) as well as fully progressable. Beta is when primarily bugs need to be fixed I doubt that this game is in Alpha for years, I think it entered Alpha somewhere in the last 1-2 years
Seeing how they hunt giant cows in a group make me feels like this is what Final Fantasy XV should have for Comrade multiplayer, and seeing how we can now seamlessly pick quest anywhere at any point without getting sent to the base in every mission feels like Metal Gear Solid V. Damn Monster Hunter Wilds is gonna be The dream game!

Hopefully the live chat from this stream makes Capcom realize they need to moderate it a little better lol. I think some people seem to think unisex armor is stripping male characters of “manly” clothing and women of more skimpy outfits that show more skin. As if they literally didn’t show yesterday that you can still wear those armors if you want, but the people who want to wear mankinis or certain armors from female sets (such as the cowboy hat from one of the armors they showed) in vice versa now have more freedom to do so. I’m not gonna lie, i’m a dude and I don’t wanna dress my hunter in a bikini, but if a female set has a cool piece (such as that cowboy hat) then i’m gonna put it on my hunter. I’m not going to sit here and pretend there aren’t people who wanna dress their male hunters in skimpy “girly” clothes but who cares? That’s the players decision, let them play the game how they want lol.
I would make a normal Male Hunter wear pink outfits to be like Magical Girl for shits and giggles. I see nothing wrong with it. What CAPCOM means by getting both sets of armor and have the characters wear armor regardless of Male or Female is just what FromSoft has been doing. We know this in their game. We can just wear all armor, and the models adjusts to it.

Yeah, people complaining about this feature clearly don't have anything better to do than be offended by anything "woke" (anything that could possibly be considered a kindness to someone that isn't like them, regardless of other benefits). MH gender variations for armors are like, 2/3 or more just two different cosmetic options that are both gender-neutral in form. I do hope that there are still two or more variants for each piece to pick from, though, rather than just making 90% of the armor only get one variant.
People just seem to find anything to complain about instead of just enjoying the game. Like we hunt monster and now we are getting more lore/story focus story which is great.
Most people don't know what they want. If you actually gave them only monsters to fight and 0% down time, they would finish the content and complain it was too short.

Monster hunter is one of the few games where I feel like it's safe to pre order. Just cause of streams like this. Unafraid to show their game off so much. And yet there's still more to hide. Rey Dau isn't even the flagship monster. If the game is this complete I'm guessing early 2025 is the release date right? Can't wait.
i agree, you wanna upgrade your weapon and armor before the hunt but your friend runs off and starts hunting, by the time you get there you slap it a couple times and its dead. thats an exaggeration but the social culture of the game is gone unless every hunter is on the same page
it clearly had some LoD and physics issues yesterday, and I'll bet they have a couple hundred other bugs in their pipeline lol. good enough to put out a limited build that prevents some of those issues, but not good enough to ship in the next 3 months.

A little visual bug/issue I noticed there when they were fighting Ray Dau was that for 3 of them, he was in his strandard form, but for the fourth he was in his fulgurised blue mode!
Did they explain why the person on the bottom right had different colors on the Rey Dau than everybody else? Like his screen showed the monster glowing blue in spots. Did I miss an explanation of that?
Not having gender locked armor? finally you can wear a helmet with visor down as a female, truly outstanding next gen feature. Im glad because it can fix some wierd inconsistency between sets
@1:36:30 they say that ammo needs to be crafter still, but in the day 1 video they were using bow and said that coatings are now a gauge rather than an item. so does LBG and HBG have the monotony of crafting still while bow gets massive QoL in being a gauge? It's gonna affect balance too as crafting can spam more than gauge, but gauge will be less hassle.

I love the fishing. I found the game Fishing Planet randomly and ended up loving it. I knew nothing about fishing but the mechanics got me really into it.
The way I see it, the moment anyone uses the word "woke" as a criticism, it immediately invalidates their argument. This is a game series where it has always been entirely possible for any character, regardless of gender, to get through the entire game wearing nothing but a G-string and some shin pads (Bone armor legs, for those wondering) if they so choose. Throwing a tantrum in chat over "gender neutral" outfits is just pathetic.
I went from not paying much attention to Wilds to be very excited to play it! All of the quality of life changes and new features are dope! The butthole sneak attacks are funny. I can’t believe they gave them holes lmao. I really hope they give us a demo! They’re usually pretty cool about that so I feel like we will get one.
The more I think about the mounted combat in this game allowing you to use the weapon, I'm wondering if a good combo would be spamming sleep attack with a LBG status ailment config, and then swapping into HBG to cluster + barrel bomb combo the slept target. Assuming you can use any and all ammo while on the mount with a bowgun, you may have to unmount to fire clusters? Another combo could be to use a sleep melee weapon to save ammo and space to then swap to HBG for the same cluster + barrel bomb strategy? I'm just trying to think of reasons why I'd ever swap weapons at all, and use mounted combat, as opposed to just using my main preferred weapon choice exclusively throughout.
If you don't intend to use the 2nd wep slot try to carry whatever your weapon can't do I guess, like if u use dual blades you can bring a great sword just for waking up sleeping mons, or hammer for KOs, or maybe hunting horn (if the buffs persist)
I think the replies are pretty on point. Monster has two weaknesses? When it starts to be too resistant to one, swap to the other. Monster has one weakness? Use your main weapon and secondary is a Hunting Horn buff stick.

Everything looks amazing in this game, even some of the bugs from day 1 are gone in the demo! I would like to request an "advanced radial menu" that brings back the 8 options per d-pad direction, totaling at 32 quick use items, like World had. I get that the 4 items per d-pad direction in Wilds is to make it more beginner friendly but only having 16 items on the radial menu is very limiting, I always used at least 3 full radial directions worth of items for each of my loadouts in World but with how it is in Wilds that is no longer possible.

Minor detail at 1:45:46 look at the top of the health bar where the water blight icon shows up. After a short bit (after they get hit a second time might be a trigger, don't know yet), the blight shows its remaining duration (20 seconds). So either blights start the countdown at 20 seconds remaining (total duration 25 seconds?), or they start it after being hit a second time. Gonna make a theory here; The countdown started after they got hit by the same attack that inflicted waterblight, so maybe this is "severe" waterblight. Can't confirm anything since they immediately got on the seikrat, but hey that's just a theory.... A GAME THEORY!

@@timeytk they really did just took world and made everything better, I loved world but my biggest gripe was the lack of variety, and wilds has already hit us with five new monsters that are all unique classes! Tenderization is finally replaced, the overall hunting experience is so damn seamless, it’s gets harder and harder to wait with each passing day!

Man the live chat on this stream was terrible. Some really offensive stuff that clearly drove people away. Think I watched the stream lost about half its viewership in under 30 minutes despite interesting stuff happening. Really need to get some moderation on that.
Edit: I later learned there was, in fact, moderation during the stream, though many users were bypassing it. I'm 100% on the side that, realistically, live chat on stuff like this has absolutely nothing to offer, mostly because it really doesn't add anything to the experience. Since, even if they removed all the offensive messages and spam, it wouldn't be possible to have any meaningful conversation about the game and I don't believe it was ever interacted with by the devs. Really hope the team in charge of this Monster Hunter social media sees how giving an open platform for detractors can muddy the waters of what looks like an absolutely stunning game and a great stream. Nobody deserves to be turned away from a live stream about a game they're excited for due to some guy spamming slurs in a chat.
We're all unfathomably hyped for this game, and I'd much rather the devs spend their time hearing the majority masses than having to silence the minority of senseless detractors that want none more than to ruin the experience for others.

right now they're at the end of Beta and in a polish, fine tuning, final balance and performance optimization phase to prepare for release in q1 2025
the game is an alpha, but what you see is an extremely polished vertical slice, not the current state of the game, at best the current state of the part of the game we are allowed to see.

Production starts, when all vertical slices and test versions are fun enough and allow a glimpse of what the game could be in a big scheme. That's when the initial features are more shaped out and other planned features are coming into existance.
Alpha here just means, all mandatory features are complete (which means it's hacked and taped together) as well as fully progressable. Beta is when primarily bugs need to be fixed
I doubt that this game is in Alpha for years, I think it entered Alpha somewhere in the last 1-2 years

Seeing how they hunt giant cows in a group make me feels like this is what Final Fantasy XV should have for Comrade multiplayer, and seeing how we can now seamlessly pick quest anywhere at any point without getting sent to the base in every mission feels like Metal Gear Solid V.

I think some people seem to think unisex armor is stripping male characters of “manly” clothing and women of more skimpy outfits that show more skin. As if they literally didn’t show yesterday that you can still wear those armors if you want, but the people who want to wear mankinis or certain armors from female sets (such as the cowboy hat from one of the armors they showed) in vice versa now have more freedom to do so.
I’m not gonna lie, i’m a dude and I don’t wanna dress my hunter in a bikini, but if a female set has a cool piece (such as that cowboy hat) then i’m gonna put it on my hunter. I’m not going to sit here and pretend there aren’t people who wanna dress their male hunters in skimpy “girly” clothes but who cares? That’s the players decision, let them play the game how they want lol.
I would make a normal Male Hunter wear pink outfits to be like Magical Girl for shits and giggles. I see nothing wrong with it. What CAPCOM means by getting both sets of armor and have the characters wear armor regardless of Male or Female is just what FromSoft has been doing. We know this in their game. We can just wear all armor, and the models adjusts to it.

Yeah, people complaining about this feature clearly don't have anything better to do than be offended by anything "woke" (anything that could possibly be considered a kindness to someone that isn't like them, regardless of other benefits). MH gender variations for armors are like, 2/3 or more just two different cosmetic options that are both gender-neutral in form. I do hope that there are still two or more variants for each piece to pick from, though, rather than just making 90% of the armor only get one variant.
I just love it so me and my friends can show up in even goofier outfit combos to hunt down beasts. Fashion is important when styling on the wyverns

Probably online syncing issue, there was a lot of sliding around as well from the monsters.
Monster hunter is one of the few games where I feel like it's safe to pre order. Just cause of streams like this. Unafraid to show their game off so much. And yet there's still more to hide. Rey Dau isn't even the flagship monster. If the game is this complete I'm guessing early 2025 is the release date right? Can't wait.

i agree, you wanna upgrade your weapon and armor before the hunt but your friend runs off and starts hunting, by the time you get there you slap it a couple times and its dead. thats an exaggeration but the social culture of the game is gone unless every hunter is on the same page

@1:36:30 they say that ammo needs to be crafter still, but in the day 1 video they were using bow and said that coatings are now a gauge rather than an item. so does LBG and HBG have the monotony of crafting still while bow gets massive QoL in being a gauge?
It's gonna affect balance too as crafting can spam more than gauge, but gauge will be less hassle.

The way I see it, the moment anyone uses the word "woke" as a criticism, it immediately invalidates their argument. This is a game series where it has always been entirely possible for any character, regardless of gender, to get through the entire game wearing nothing but a G-string and some shin pads (Bone armor legs, for those wondering) if they so choose. Throwing a tantrum in chat over "gender neutral" outfits is just pathetic.
I went from not paying much attention to Wilds to be very excited to play it! All of the quality of life changes and new features are dope! The butthole sneak attacks are funny. I can’t believe they gave them holes lmao. I really hope they give us a demo! They’re usually pretty cool about that so I feel like we will get one.

The more I think about the mounted combat in this game allowing you to use the weapon, I'm wondering if a good combo would be spamming sleep attack with a LBG status ailment config, and then swapping into HBG to cluster + barrel bomb combo the slept target. Assuming you can use any and all ammo while on the mount with a bowgun, you may have to unmount to fire clusters?
Another combo could be to use a sleep melee weapon to save ammo and space to then swap to HBG for the same cluster + barrel bomb strategy? I'm just trying to think of reasons why I'd ever swap weapons at all, and use mounted combat, as opposed to just using my main preferred weapon choice exclusively throughout.
If you don't intend to use the 2nd wep slot try to carry whatever your weapon can't do I guess, like if u use dual blades you can bring a great sword just for waking up sleeping mons, or hammer for KOs, or maybe hunting horn (if the buffs persist)
Or you could just bring two of the same weapon, one with sleep or paralysis on it.

Monster has two weaknesses? When it starts to be too resistant to one, swap to the other.
Monster has one weakness? Use your main weapon and secondary is a Hunting Horn buff stick.

Everything looks amazing in this game, even some of the bugs from day 1 are gone in the demo! I would like to request an "advanced radial menu" that brings back the 8 options per d-pad direction, totaling at 32 quick use items, like World had. I get that the 4 items per d-pad direction in Wilds is to make it more beginner friendly but only having 16 items on the radial menu is very limiting, I always used at least 3 full radial directions worth of items for each of my loadouts in World but with how it is in Wilds that is no longer possible.

Me not yelling "just f*ing lance charge" at my screen when the lance player, casually sheathes, and strolls behind the fleeing Doshaguma.
Minor detail at 1:45:46 look at the top of the health bar where the water blight icon shows up. After a short bit (after they get hit a second time might be a trigger, don't know yet), the blight shows its remaining duration (20 seconds).
So either blights start the countdown at 20 seconds remaining (total duration 25 seconds?), or they start it after being hit a second time.
Gonna make a theory here; The countdown started after they got hit by the same attack that inflicted waterblight, so maybe this is "severe" waterblight. Can't confirm anything since they immediately got on the seikrat, but hey that's just a theory.... A GAME THEORY!
