My mum lives in a Tory stronghold constituency (even pre-Brexit). At the local elections she went to vote and the pill clerk commented to her that she was quick. My mum asked what she meant and it transpired that most voters were spending several minutes deciding who to vote for. The council went from completely Tory to No overall control. Many life long Tories had changed their vote. Obviously local elections aren't the same as national ones, but given their MP has had a lot of front page scandal there's an increased likelihood that voters will either switch party support or not vote at all.

It's people like this caller... You know... Nice... But dim! Which is why this country is going to the dogs in the first place!
Generally speaking, the electorate is WEAK! Misinformed, uneducated, bigoted, short sighted, ignorant... All the while as they are DEEPLY distracted trying to survive and make ends meet! A perfect storm to ensure that the elites remain in COMPLETE control!
This won't last of course... It's only a matter of time until things start blowing up! But yeah, the reason why Democracy is failing, is because of it's weakest link: The voters themselves who vote the sort of people in, who wish to suppress and erode our Democracy.

To be fair to the caller, Sunak's major plus is indeed that he is not Johnson or Truss. And he actually did accomplish some things. He was in charge of the furlough scheme, putting money in the pockets of people when they needed it the most. Also he brokered the Windsor Framework, showing that he acknowledges the fact that the EU is never ever going to allow a back door in to their market. He had a fairly succfull visit with Macron, restoring a bit of the souring relations between the UK and France. And slowly but surely he is dealing with the UKIP elements in his party, slowly removing them one by one. So I do think he is for now the right man for the job. Not the job of PM because I dont stand for Tory policies, but the job of steering the party to its former "centre-right" position.

Antisemitism is a very old form of racism. Its been around for centuries. But the only time ive ever heard the Tories talk about it is when it was clearly a problem in rhe Labour Party. Its the most cynical point scoring ive ever seen by one party against another.
The guy criticises Starmer for it, when Starmer has made it clear that any hint of Antisemitism (or any other racism) wont be tolerated in Labour. Hence why he got rid of people like Dianne Abbott and Rebecca Long-Bailey.
