@Mahati Rankings in the metagame are objective as well, no Pokémon is Top 10 because it looks cool. But I get your argument, it was HIS approach to rank those.
@@Teamo_505 yes, but not many people incorporate a knock off Pokemon into their team and a decent amount of the time the Pokemon in question still has impressive bulk to where it's still viable
I actually used an Eviolite Tangela in my play through of Pokémon Sword. I forgot what nature it was, but having it use Giga Drain, Sludge Bomb, Growth and Amnesia, and she did a very good job!

Blissey has the benefit of getting leftovers and being overall less vunerable to item loss, so while not as good in the current metagame she's certainely fine, and a slight shift in the meta or a slight stat buff to Blissey would put her back on top. Due to their ridiculous bulk, sometimes passive damages are more effective at dealing with them, and having access to an item that negate the ever present passive damage from entry hazard is certainly appreciated
Honestly I wish that porygon-2 and porygon-Z were a split evolution. Their base stat totals aren't that far different at all, and one is a sweeper, and the other one is a tank. However, that would mean that porygon-2 would no longer get access to the eviolite, so what do I know.
Personally, even though it’s base stat total is 410, galarian corsola is an amazing Pokémon to use which is not fully evolved as with an eviolite it is so bulky and can stall out opponents really well, that’s just from my experience using one though
@@yellownotmellow Mikey was going strictly by base stat total, but the reality is that NFE pokemon's viability is determined heavily by their base defense and HP. This is why you had Dusclops ranked behind Galarian Mr. Mime, despite Dusclops being SIGNIFICANTLY better in battle, due to it's vastly superior defenses and slightly better HP.
Also Fun Fact Excluding Pokemon that were fully evolved at their time of introduction, Doublade has the highest base stat (defense in it's case) of all pre-evolutions at 150. If you count ones that were once fully evolved, then Chansey (HP) beats it out by 100 points
This would probably make Aegislash worse, because it decreases attack somehow and increases defense in Shield Forme, and in Blade Form it's in reverse. (-Def +Atk)
@@latiiyoutube6468 yeah, that's what i thought for a long time because i never really payed attention to it due to a "Hit first" mindset i used to have for all pokemon, but aegislash is slow enough that if you use king's shield every other turn it'll typically be slow enough to hit after it's opponent, then switch back into shield form the next turn before it gets hit because of priority.
My intuition for Sligoo having a slightly higher BST is that it also has the stipulation of only evolving if it’s raining. Game Freak may have considered that some new players using Sligoo might go a while without knowing this piece of info, making it evolve later than intended. As such, they’d make it a tiny bit better to compensate.
The only unevolved Pokémon I use in competitive is Galarian Corsola, it's an insanely good set up Pokémon, it gets access to strength sap, which is a great healing move because it drains the opponents attack. It also has will-o-wisp and stealth rock, so it can get really annoying to face. It has high defenses so having a evolite can make it last long enough to set up stealth rocks and a will-o-wisp, then it can steal the attack of the opposing Pokémon before switching to an attacker. Galarian Corsola is really good, and it's fun to use, I really like Galarian Corsola
The huge problem with G-corsola is that it is TERRIBLY passive and knock off and toxic ruins its day. It cannot do anything vs special attackers bc strength sap wont heal much and will o wisp will be useless. If it loses its eviolite, it's bulk becomes trash. I love the Magnemite line, ever since they got the magnet pull ability they've been competitive staples in their respective tiers. Removing steel types was always their main purpose ever since gen 3 and they're really good at it, it just goes to show that you don't have to be a jack of all trades to be successful, just being world class at one thing is often good enough!

@@idosomethingiguess3680 While true, Klingklang/Klang are like that because of eviolite, while Porygon2 and Porygon-Z would be like that even if eviolite didn't exist (Porygon2's defenses are literally just better no matter what it holds).
Porygon Z with Z-conversion gets 1.5 multipliers on all stats + changes it's typing to whatever you want so if you pick ghost type you become immune to fighting. This allows porygon Z to be the ultimate troll

scyther is actually pretty OP on eviolite. lvl 30 scyther can have 60-75+ def&sp.def on max ev, and with eviolite that becomes 80-90. STAB technician boosted dual wingbeat, bug bite, roost, knock off, etc.
Yeah but unlike Scizor, which is part steel type, bug:flying is a horrid defensive typing. Your boosted stats don't matter when you take 2x damage from several common sources. Scizor has one weakness. Scyther has 5.
Sadly nowadays Chansey is in UU and Blissey is OU again all because Blissey is great when she wears boots. The meta nowadays is bizarre, a drumming primate is better than Tapu Bulu and fricking Swampert is OU while Blaziken is getting a suspect test in UU of all things. XD
It is worth noting that in 2013 Misdreavus made it to the Masters US Nationals finals, while Magmar made Worlds Top 8, and Rhydon made Top 4 that same year. Each were kinda cool in their teams, and worth looking at
Hey @MandJTV, I have an idea for a future video that I think would be interesting: Pokemon that should forget moves upon evolution, but don't (i.e. Primeape still knowing iron tail after evolving from Mankey...)
Mikey: “Bug-Steel is a better type than bug-flying” Basically any fire type: “Haha” Edit: guys pls it’s a joke. I’m just saying if scizor goes against a fire type it’s basically going to lose. I’m not saying that scyther is better than scizor.
Scyther is pretty good though this gen, with Technician boosted Dual-Wingbeat, giving it a basically 120 base power 90% accuracy flying type move that also ignores focus sash.
So with the introductions of Annihilape and Kinggambit, I guess we can add Primeape(base stat total: 455) and Bisharp(base stat total: 490), which means both Gligar and Mistrovis have been knocked off the list. The only question is how do both of them fair with an Eviolite? Now I know very little about the competitive side of Pokemon so take what I say with a lot of grains of salt. Primeape joins Golbat and Dusclops in tied for 11th place now. While Primeape is defently not better than Dusclops so Duclops retains 9th place, I wonder how well it fairs compared to Golbat. In terms of defensive stats and HP, Golbat has better stats in that category so it can take more advantage of the Eviolite, as Primeape's HP and Defense is 60 and it's Special Defense is 70, but Primeape has one less weakness, however, one of its weaknesses is to the best type Fairy, although Primeape has good physical attack and speed(105 and 95), both higher then Golbat and it gets access to a lot of TM moves which gives it coverage for its weakness and the plus side most of those coverage moves are physical attacks for it's best stat, so with the Eviolite helping it out a little it could survive for a bit and get off some decent damage on Pokemon it's weak too, but Golbat might still be better. Regardless though Annihilape is still better because it's stronger and while it now has 4 weaknesses instead of 3, it also has 2 immunities. As for Bisharp, it's tied with Electabuzz in 6th place, but I think it's better than Electabuzz, so it would take 5th place. While it has more weaknesses than Electabuzz, including a 4x Fighting weakness, it's got more defense build, while its HP is the same as Electabuzz and it's got 10 less in Special Defense, its regular Defense is much better at 100. Thus, with the Eviolite it can be better defensively built even with the 4x weakness, which at least in the current competition with Terrastalization you can make it pure Steel which turns its 4x weakness just into a 2x one, plus Steel type is one of the best types and one of only two that can deal with the best type the Fairy Type. It also gets access to some decent physical moves to cover its weakness, as well as some decent status moves like Sandstorm and Stealth Rocks. As well as Rest to help it recover HP, plus Sleep Talk if you want to go for a more offensive approach because of its good physical attack stat. It might be better than it's evolved from Kingambit, again I know very little of the competitive side of things, but thanks to the Eviolite it has better Defenses in both stats compared to Kingambit, and while Kingambit has better HP at 100, Bisharp as some other advantages over it's evolved form like being faster at 70 compared to Kingambit's 50, and even it's weaker physical Attack isn't that much weaker then Kingambit's, being only 10 points lower. So I think it has a good chance to be decent in competitive and maybe even better than its evolved form, but again, I know very little about competitive and the like, so I may be wrong. But I'm at least confident it's better than Electabuzz.
Oh wait a minute, I forgot about Girafarig thanks to Farigiraf Girafarig is also in the 455 base stat total camp, which means Tanglia is also knocked off the list, and while there's n way it could be better than Dusclops, it might be decent and probably at least better than Farigiraf. After all both, of its defense states are only 5 points lower than Farigiraf, so with the Eviolite even with its HP being 50 points lower than its evolved form it could still be better, especially because its other stats aren't too bad compared to Farigiraf, it's two attack stats aren't that much lower then Farigiraf and it's still got higher speed. Plus, it only has two weaknesses and one immunity so maybe it could be alright with an Eviolite.
Hail yeah. But, speaking of ice, the Mr. Mime graph shown is actually for regular Mr. Mime, not the Galarian form. Eh, same bst, does it matter? Not really, but I thought it was worth mentioning to someone. Have a happy holidays, and enjoy future Grunty bois!
Eviolite Doublade is actually scary. It has a higher base defense than Aegislash in gen 8, actually, and the special defense becomes not horrible (though still not good). And combined with the fact it doesn’t have to become super frail when it attacks like Aegislash does, and it actually has a completely different niche from Aegislash.
0:39 so your telling me.... that Ash’s Pikachu swallowed a eviolite?- but it makes sense because we never see Pikachu holding it, and it is stronger than other Raichus-
duskclops is a personal fav of mine cause it has a monstrous 130 base stat in both physical and special defense so it doesn’t even need eveolite to be bulky so you could give it a chesto berry, lum berry or left overs.
I was waiting for my favorite Pokemon Scyther to be on this list but the later the video got, the less hope I had, until I found out it was actually high up on the list, I know Scizor is better, and when I'm legitimately competitive, I'll use a scizor instead, but otherwise I'll always choose scyther.
Vigoroth was banned because it has good HP, gets good recovery to stay around forever in slack off, stat boosting moves like bulk up, counter, decent stab attacks, only one weakness and good coverage

The interactions between grunty boi and Mikey are legitimately hilarious
This is the first time I rewind to watch a sponsor. It's so lit
Dude this guy does the best job at making you want to buy the thing that’s sponsoring him. He sneaks in things that make it sound better casually. 👍
Mikey is the only RUclipsr I know about that makes sponsorships fun
I want to roll my eyes at the Grunty Boi bits so bad, but he's so endlessly charming. What a guy.
Oh wait a minute, I forgot about Girafarig thanks to Farigiraf
Girafarig is also in the 455 base stat total camp, which means Tanglia is also knocked off the list, and while there's n way it could be better than Dusclops, it might be decent and probably at least better than Farigiraf.

Eviolite Doublade is actually scary. It has a higher base defense than Aegislash in gen 8, actually, and the special defense becomes not horrible (though still not good). And combined with the fact it doesn’t have to become super frail when it attacks like Aegislash does, and it actually has a completely different niche from Aegislash.

duskclops is a personal fav of mine cause it has a monstrous 130 base stat in both physical and special defense so it doesn’t even need eveolite to be bulky so you could give it a chesto berry, lum berry or left overs.
