I was really surprised by the bike. I'm normally a weight weenie and try to get bikes that are as light as possible but this bike doesn't feel anywhere near the stated weight. I fell in love with it and got one and it handles and brakes very well.
For those that are wondering. As soon as the HP4 hits the powerband, the electric will be smoked, simply because that's how physics work. Horsepower is a measure of work, more horsepower means more work done in the same time frame. The BMW has higher horsepower which means it can make more work in the same amount of time. The electric has instant torque, which means that it will have higher horsepower up to its peak of 150HP at around 4.7k rpm. The stock hp4 breaks even at 10k rpm which means that after that it will just furiously pull away. Assuming that rider knew what he was doing and it was a full on 1/4 mile run, by the time he shifted from 1st to 2nd gear, he should fall above that break even mark and the e-bike would have its ass handed to it. Why would that happen you might ask? Because it only revs up to 4.7k rpm, that's why. It makes so much fucking torque only to rev so low... it's a waste. Not to mention it's 81kg HEAVIER than a stock trim HP4. This means that it should start catching up before it even reaches 10k rpm. See the problem here? I do support the notion of electric bike, but it needs to be done right. Staging race that are less than 100m long just to prove a point isn't gonna make people like electrics, people aren't as stupid as you'd like them to be. EDIT: Disregard what i said about break even point... The electric makes 136HP, i thought it made 150, i got confused... this is even worse for it then...

EV bikes are not even close to being a viable thing even in 2022. you can't make a bike weigh as much as you want. there are limits to weight and size meaning you can't make the range good. these bikes weigh a fuck ton already so there ain't really much more room for more battery and the battery technology is progressing slowly and is not gonna progress that much more. electric vehicles already run pretty efficiently so there also ain't much more efficiency to get out of the electric motors.

When this company or Zero is bought out or when it receives a large investment from a scared petrol powered motorcycle company that hasn't been doing it's battery class homework, they'll hopefully become true liter bike competitors on track too!
nah EV bikes have a major problem which is weight and size. you can't fit more batteries in it because there ain't no more space and there ain't no more margin for weight. the more you weigh the worse it will corner. the range on a EV bike is not good and will not be good for a extremly long time. + EV bikes have no soul

I have a 2014 Tesla P85 and a Zero SRF 15.6. Looks like the P85 was the nearest to the Energica not bad for an old bird . In my experience its the 0-30 thats so good in the classic RWD P85 my Zero is as quick if not quicker than the P85 so probably quicker that the Energica here. Probably the latest Energicas quicker again as EVs rapidly getting better. My Tesla was updated over the air 4.2 0-60 to 4.0 0-60 feels even quicker but neat trick
electricity powered vehicles are the future, only hurdles to overcome would be charging for long time use and EMP pulse's which will totally disable the electric vehicle
Any EMP that cripples an electric vehicle would also cripple any ICE vehicle with fuel injection or any other controllers onboard. Agreed on the charging though, but it's getting better with every new generation!

nah EV can't power airplanes and can't power cargo ships and can't power motorcycles. they weight to much and offer to little range in return. also we don't have endless amount or resources for EV's . they will be here for a while and will be mixed in with ICE but the ICE engine is not going anywhere. fossil fuels will disappear but there are other fuels out there. our towns entire garbage truck fleet run on diesel made from the old food we throw out. we got these little green baggy that we are suppose to use as food trash bags and they then get sorted out att the recycling plants and then turned in to diesel. EV works for cars and city driving semi trucks because they can afford the extra weight and already have room for the battery. a bike don't have the room and can't afford the extra weight. a cargo ship can't afford the extra weight and size because by the time it has enough range it can't actually load anything. same with airplanes. to much weight to lift off (smaller hobby aircrafts can but they are extremely light and can't really take much extra cargo)
