I actually really like Tidal Wave’s face, with his possibly unintentional mustache and “beard” strongly resembling the facial hair of a seasoned naval commander [as for the landing craft, I ended up purchasing some 5mm rods, cutting two smaller pegs, and inserting them into the back two screw holes to help it hold together]
@@PerspectiveEnd Do you think Hasbro is EVIL enough to pack just a purple torso with the inevitable green version so you have to get both versions to get a scale accurate purple Tidalwave

Holy moly that green version of him looked fantastic! I might have to double dip on this figure if that does come to fruition one day. Still like this version since I'm all about toon accuracy, but the green one as a kid always was eye candy to me and gosh, I might want him in that color too.
My favorite feature of this Tidal Wave is that he floats pretty well in the water (yes, I took my titan Tidal Wave to a public pool.) Both the normal and mini dark fleets float and the Space-battlecarrier floats.
Great figure. Speaking of gaps, I don’t get why there couldn’t have been a flap to cover the back, which clearly has a smaller version of himself stored inside.
Tidal Wave, the ultimate Battleship boardgame player and warship piece on the board. I never played the Transformers Armada videogame, but I have seen gameplay of the huge Tidal Wave boss fight. I mainly remember the big guy from the Armada show, and I remembered how excited I was as a kid when he appeared. First in space in his giant space battleship mode, then fought the Autobots on the ocean shore, and then he transformed into the huge Decepticon and floated in the air, firing blast after blast from his blast turrets chest. But I wasn't really a fan of him doing the weaponizer gimmick with Megatron/Galvatron, as he was just too big compared to the avenge size Transformers. Yes I heard of mass shifting, but I still just didn't like the weaponizing idea. Same with this new base mode. I never had the original Armada toy, so I glad that I was able to get this Legacy United version. -Looking forward to Tidal Waves repaints in his toy/game colors, and in the Energon show colors. If Hasbro reuses his toy.
Great review PerspectiveEnd!!! I agree that the legs not pegging together to form the landing craft is one of the worst aspects of this figure. I wonder if we will get a Generations Selects Energon Tidal Wave? Also, TIDAL WAVE, TIDAL WAVE!!! Keep on being amazing.
Decided I needed the Legacy Cybertron Starscream. Compared to the original 3 Cybertron Starscreams I have... It sucks. The 3 Cybertron Starscreams transform like fine wine. The Legacy Cybertron Starscream transforms like expired milk.
Yeah, people actually got mad at me for that Review because I was being unfair, but I was like "My guys, have you handled this thing. It's just not made right."
I don't believe them when they say that. This is Smaller than the Nemesis, it's less complicated than the nemesis, it poses worse than the Nemesis. If it's Budget, then why did the budget clearly drop between the two of them.
I can't WAIT to get this figure. I loved Tidal Wave and I'm so glad they made the CORRECT choice in making him a titan, as Primus intended. His game boss fight was glorious and as a transformer that transforms into a giant aircraft carrier he SHOULD be big enough for the cons to use like a battleship. Imagine the size difference between this guys alt mode and an Earth aircraft carrier or battleship. Those are human size, Tidal Wave would be big enough to have hundreds of cons running around inside of him and a bunch of equipment, he'd be GIGANTIC. I just wish Hasbro would stop forcing a base mode on things. He never transformed into a base. That would be dumb. He isn't G1 Metroplex, stop going out of your way to make a stupid base mode an official mode, especially if it compromises other things.

Yeah, too expensive and takes too much space for me to even consider. I'm glad you found another winner, though, and if they'd released this guy back when Armada was the current line I would probably have been as all over him as I was the original toy.
It's unfortunate that my only interest in this figure is going to exclusively be in the green repaint (that they apparently want to put in the GAMER EDITION line). Also, I feel like this figure is, with the leg joints for base mode, some slight redesigning away from doing the robot to mega ship transformation that this thing feels incomplete without.
Same, but that's normal. The Green Version from the Game is WAAAAAAY more famous than the Purple one from the actual show. And yeah the basemode is just in the way of the figure being better, it could have so easily just not had partsforming in the transformation.
@@PerspectiveEnd Honestly, I think they'd easily be able to make a full transformation work if they made a version that dropped the kibble-bound megatron gimmick, that whole combination never looked good. Just give us a green boat man with good looking hands, no mini version of himself, and that turns into a big ship directly from robot, as well as the 3 smaller boats.
Tidalwave accessories can combine with the Armada Megatron. My e-mail if you have an issue with Tidalwave, Gears, and Cliffjumper. I have some more room for archiving these pieces of history.
Just remembered that mine is in the BBTS loot pile. Had the OG when I was Kid, Minicon gimmicks was such fun. Wish the lander kept the gimmick because it'd go good with the siege mini bots and core class figures. Also, I gots a bath tub and a Worlds smallest OP that transforms, so que the Vs. My copy of the landing barge part of tidal wave is able to stay together. Thare is an upgrade kit where the green version is also compatible with legacy armada megatron.
I think the base mode is supposed to be some kind of Power Rangers Water base The legs look like docks for both large and smaller ships, while the rest is a lookout tower and takeoff zones for planes
"What if Easter Island stood up and also was a muppet" 😂 What did you dislike about Earthrise Scorponok? I remember you saying you weren't gonna pick it up ages ago. I got it when it was restocked during Kingdom, and I really love it. It's also surprisingly clean looking due to the way the stinger folds up into a small (relative to his size) backpack. Good articulation, holds its poses well. It's a massive beast for sure, but then so is Omega Supreme. To me he was one of the bright spots in an otherwise pretty bad toyline.
I still really want this figure as my first titan class figure, especially since I have a lot of character affinity for him. And since I love naval history, and I always wanted a transformers figure that transformers into a warship

Tidal wave and cybertron metroplex are peak titan class to me
Found him at GameStop last week. Solid man👌
Glad you are enjoying it.
0:42 tidal wave jumpscare
It is intimidating.
Tidal Wave theme (When I probably click to ship in a week or so)
You mean micromasters?
Minibots are small Deluxes now.
Thanks. I couldn't remember what they were callsed/classified as off of the top of my head. It was micromasters and battlemasters.
I think this might sink in the bathtub.
Rubber Ducky beats the Dark Fleet. Truly a weapon to surpass Metal Gear.
TIDAL WAVE TIDAL WAVE TIDAL WAVE
I remember him ONLY being able to say that, but I guess that's a Mandela Effect.
My copy of the landing barge part of tidal wave is able to stay together. Thare is an upgrade kit where the green version is also compatible with legacy armada megatron.
IM GETTING HIM THIS WEDNEADAY!!
An Ontario that caught almost $400 plus
That's insane.
TIDAL WAVE WIDAL WAVE TIDAL WAVE
I think the base mode is supposed to be some kind of Power Rangers Water base The legs look like docks for both large and smaller ships, while the rest is a lookout tower and takeoff zones for planes
Why is it a Specifically Water Base?
Where are the Take Off Zones for Planes?
"What if Easter Island stood up and also was a muppet" 😂
What did you dislike about Earthrise Scorponok?
I think you will enjoy it a lot. As much hate as I have for the base mode the Robot mode and combined ship mode is great.
@@PerspectiveEnd eh, a bad base mode doesn’t ruin anything, it’s just extra.
But yeah, I will be tracking this figure down
It baffles me how this man is able to EAT for the week with how much he spends on plastic robots
Believe me, I want to spend less. It's painful to spend so much.
I mostly know Tidal Wave cuz of the Armada PS2 game that I never played but god damn how they used him was fucking sick
scale that son of a bitch for an entire stage only to end up with a boss fight where he's gunning towards you
Yeah the game version is the way more famous one. He was so cool in that.
The Yamato would whoop Tidalwaves Three part segmented ASS!
Probably, but I was more referring the actual real life ship.
I've always been kind of indifferent to the Armada designs... but Tidal Wave is Tidel Wave, gotta have one!
Tidal Wave is just a ton of fun. I wish I had one as a Kid, I always wanted one.
I feel bad for passing this one up, but I'm sure my wallet won't.
You've made a wise but unfun decision.
