I have done personal training with Jake and Y! Very supportive. Tailor made to the event I was training for. Very careful to make sure I learned movements properly, work around injuries and pushed me hard to reach maximum potential. Thanks 4 the episode Upflip.

This business could be run for far lower start up cost if necessary in my opinion. Once you pay the $250/month facility rent, all you really need are a few Olympic weight sets that you can buy used for much less on Facebook marketplace etc. The best exercises are the simple compound movement like bench press, deadlift, squat, etc. and can be used repeatedly for excellent results. No need for $400 + barbells that do nothing better than a regular barbell from any high school gymnasium. Raw effort, motivation, determination, and physical effort are what make you successful in the gym, not expensive equipment. Good technique is also helpful and can be learned from experienced lifters and fitness enthusiasts. To be honest you only really need a bench, a barbell, some weights and a positive attitude to have a raging successful fitness business. Everything else just helps keep you motivated and make you look like you know what you're doing.

Great vid. I like the part where they talk about scaling... You dont want to scale too quick because you lose focus and you dont have consistency. Thanks for sharing!

In fact, be prepared to develop customer sources, and then import fitness equipment from international markets such as China, because the prices are low. Finally, you can get money and profits. I wish you all have a good business future.

I would be terrified to start a business with just a credit card. That guy has balls! haha Where do you find these people to interview at? Are you in the big city or something? Scaling is an even scarier part of the business as well seeing as how you could have started a successful business but if you try to grow to quickly then you can demolish your entire success.

Only thing easier than opening a gym is watching it go under. There is simply too much cheap fitness equipment available for people to spend time and money at gym.

This is misleading - few will succeed like he did - I'd say there is a 12% success rate in this industry. Everyone else is now bankrupt, and their main meal is the soup kitchen at 4th & Broadway. The drug addict is just looking for his next fix

I try to never be negative online, because that's shitty and everyone does it. The host looks like those chickens with too many feathers on their head...and you're like wtf is that? And like a chicken he's always looking somewhere else. Asks a question then looks off like he heard a spooky noise. Perhaps it's the meth.?.!
