What a beautiful effect these little ones have on the sea. What a treat to see this! The music also adds to the peacful bliss. What is the music please? 🎵
You made my little girl cry of Joy , beauty and amazement . She never saw it before 🤩🌈 She was and still is to young to stay up that late 😁😉 Now you made both of ower day , thanks alot for this priceless moment!☆☆☆☆☆ Grtzz from the Netherlands
Stunning isn't it. I had the enormous pleasure of experiencing this sailing in the deep Western Pacific too, with the added intensity of dolphins darting around us leaving their incredible phosphorescent wakes behind them like vapor trails crisscrossing. Plus add their squeaks of chatter, sublime. That experience will never leave me. Thanks for sharing, John.
This happens everywhere at the coast, here in Belgium and the Netherlands we have this a few months per year, absolutely fabulous to see this, truly magical
@@siegfriednoet Been all round Europe in my camper and never seen this before! Will be checking out this phenomenon in future.... right place, right time👍
@@borntraveller007 problem is that most of the time the bioluminescent plankton is best visible after midnight and only during summer months and especially after a hot day. I made some great photo's last year when I was at nighthunt for comet Neowise Good luck, it's truly magical 👍
Very rare i write a second comment to a YT vid but this one deserves it! This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life, and i never even knew it was only a couple hours drive away from where i live!?? Speechless...Wes, Liverpool, Uk.
I saw this in Porthmadog last year. We went swimming in it, my friends and me. Swimming about in it in the dark made us look like we were living in the title sequence of a James Bond film, except we were hairy blokes and not hot women.
Astonishing, I’m grateful that you persevered. All the wonder of the natural world, the stars, the universe and the magnificence of life on this planet and most of it is blissfully unaware of us. Thanks for posting this.
another awesome video Alyn just beautiful im off to Anglesey next month maybe ill try getting some shots although after my reconstructive surgery maybe a little difficult
I'll be there myself, at what will probably be an absolutely packed location once the first photos have appeared. last time i was there in 2019, it was hard to even get to the waters edge for people :(
So much beauty in nature. Humankind should wake up and preserve all that fragility. Thank you for sharing this magical moment. Can't wait to see more about it. I discovered their existence through some pictures I saw some years ago. Now, it's on my bucketlist, and really hope one day Ill witness that magnificience with my own eyes!
There is something quite special about bioluminescence. I will never forget crossing the channel in a 10m yatch. The sky was clear and brilliant with no moon. Showers of bioluminescent sparks made our bow wave mimic the sky. Thanks for making this video and conveying some of the magic.
The MOST AWESOME video, You are truly relaxed and having fun under the stars and in the water!!! Looks like the Milky Way above also. Thank You for the share!!
This is one of the best videos on RUclips. As a kid, I used to spend Summer Holidays in South Wales. It was nice to revisit this area and especially to see the Plankton glowing in the dark! Great job Alyn!
I've just purchased my very own 12x8" print off Alyn (South stack lighthouse) STUNNING Thanks and all the best , keep up the amazing stuff you do... Kieran -
Great video Alyn. I have seen this on a few occasions, some better than others and even managed to capture a video from around 100ft underwater whilst night diving in the Canary Islands. We turned our dive torches off and sat on the bottom playing like kids. With every wave of your hand it made your hand and the water glow like some kind of comic book super hero. The beauty of it and absolute wonder each time never wears off. Some events are better than others and if you are lucky to catch it without the moon in a dark sight it is truly breath taking. This looked like perfect conditions especially for the UK. THU.
First time I encountered this phenomenon was on a night passage on a dhau in Northern Mozambique to Ilha do Ibo. No drugs were consumed but this was one trippy voyage...
That's just amazing Alyn, I had no idea that this happened on GB shores, I thought it was only exotic places around the world! Great capture and with the stars above, great spectacle!
I’ve experienced this off the wake of my cruising sailing vessel Blue Dream. It’s a truly amazing thing to see. It actually illuminated the cockpit in the middle of the night!
Just incredible Alyn. I have been chasing this stuff since the beginning of 2020 here in NZ. Pretty hard to find and capture but when you do, it is just incredible.
Hey Alyn, Just an FYI. I got one of those V Platform products and it fixed the problem I was having with shooting the milky way. Just attaching the ball head to the front of the tracker is really awful. Now I can attach the ball head to the V Platform, align it horizontally and attach the camera with much better movement.
Magnificent! You not only capture the star from the Sky, you also gotcha the bio-star from the sea! Thank you for your video 😍 The sound of the waves is so healing, if there is one more edition playing with the pure natural sound. That would be perfect!
Stunning video graphics Alyn. You have an exceptional ability to capture the mind of anyone who views your content. The things you find fascinating are things most people never knew were fascinating until you opened their eyes to them.
im in awe. I had no clue hat this happens in the UK - def need to go to Wales for sure. This was so beautiful so I can imagine how bretahtaking it is to witness in person. Thank you for sharing
I'm certain that I saw something similar when I lived in North Wales many years ago, I have a feeling it was more green than blue though. It was a long time ago so I may be wrong. The incredible beauty of nature never ceases to give me joy.
Awesome show.. i live on an island in the indian ocean. These marine organisms are often seen at some of the shores here too, although not in so much high concentration. 👍
I'm speechless! It's really beautiful!!!! I never thought plankton do this too ( I though only squids do this! 😂 ) The beach resembles an otherworldly place! The best moment was 1:59! Thank you Alyn for this awesome clip! Was hoping for this video after I saw the Instagram post! 😀
Wow just wow! You've given me a hell of an idea though. Here in Bermuda we have glow worm season, which are tiny little creatures that mate 3 days after a full moon in the summer time. They emit bioluminescents when they do.....Would be cool to do a bit of a time lapse or long exposure with the ISO turned up.
I’ve seen bioluminescence from Big Sur, just south of Carmel/Pacific Grove/Monterey. I’d gone out hoping to take pics of the Milky Way but coastal inversion layer killed that. Seeing the bioluminescence erased the disappointment. Hope to see it again someday and maybe even walk out into the water a bit, splash around and make it glow…
I grew up in San Diego, Southern California. As a teenager, I surfed, And I can remember nights with the so-called “red tide” where the bio luminescence outlined our arms and legs as we paddled...
Absolutely beautiful! ❤️ I remember when this was happening where I live (off the coast of Southern California) last year! It had been the first time I'd see this happen live and in person. Truly amazing. Hope you're doing well! ❤️🪐🔭📷
Beautiful, made me a bit emotional ngl, it gave me the same vibes as the ones I had when visiting bortle 3 for the first time. Thank you for enriching my life so much with this wonderful passion
I was lucky enough to see some of this at Aberavon last night. Not as sustained as in this video, but still amazing to see. Great videos, keep up the good work.
Ive been wishing to see this in real life for many years and this video has fueled my hunger now even more... Assume you've no way of predicting it Alyn ? Fantastic video
I’ve heard of this phenomenon. But to see it like this is the next best thing to bing there. Wow!!! It’s so much brighter than I expected!! Makes you think that Earth is one of the most beautiful planets in the universe!
It's surreal. After seeing it for myself and swimming in a bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico nearly 15 years ago this video makes me want to recapture those moments. Thanks for sharing Alyn. I think you are starting to deviate from JUST astronomy and I have to say I think it shows you are more than just a 1 dimensional RUclips personality. Thanks for being yourself, and showing us how you just have an interest and wonder about all that this universe has to provide. I hope to bring that to my channel eventually as well. Cheers! ~ Dave "Cosmos Safari" Farina
I love your posts, and was inspired by your Stonehenge vlog recently, however many of your techniques are beyond my reach. I would love a short series around people like myself taking single images and still grasping the basics with very limited budget. What the camera image should look like before processing, basic techniques before and during processing would be great. How to get the best out of a single image. Loving your work though 👍
What a beautiful effect these little ones have on the sea. What a treat to see this!

It’s natures ability to continue to put on these stunning displays that make getting up everyday worthwhile.
Looked blissful Alyn, what great way to spend a night at the beach under the stars
I'm left speechless in front of such beauty, it reminds me of the first time I saw Aurora Borealis, this is a must see show

This Is Absolutely beautiful!! I love how you showed the Stars With the Glow of The Planktons. Amazing!🌌
Nature's light shows are just amazing. Thanks for sharing!

Beyond beautiful. Blue and more blue! Stunning night captures, Alyn.
