You can save gold by picking up the armour pieces and extra weapons during the tutorial. Also, many of the urns have materials in them you can sell once in town.
LOL. The in game economy is another aspect where developers failed spectacularly. You are doing 15 minutes quest and get 240 golds or so. You pick one wood node and drop a heartwood and it earns you 1500 golds in seconds without any effort. Quest rewards and prices in NPC stores are 100-1000 lower then they should be. But ZOS never fixed it, instead he gives for free 100.000 golds to any player in daily rewards from time to time. This reward includes millions of bot accounts so the ingame economy inflation spirals out of control.
@@nhvanonerz8244 You aren't picking them up to sell them, you are picking them up to unlock the skill tree for each weapon type and armor type like he is talking about around the 36:00 mark. Instead of buying the staff and the armor to unlock those skill trees, you could get the weapons and armor for free from the tutorial area.
Anyone looking to start, I can't stress this enough, don't worry about the race you play. Unless you are going to be a top tier end gamer or PVP god (which despite best initial intentions, 99.9%+ won't be, ever), it's not going to matter. Truly, pick what looks good, pick what you want to stare at for hundreds of hours. That's going to be so much more important for most people's enjoyment. Another piece of advice, when it comes to picking your class, completely ignore what is currently the meta. Classes will continue to be updated every few months, the best class today might be the worst class in 2 months time. If you spend all of your time chasing after the highest DPS class or chasing after numbers, you're going to really miss the forest for the trees. Pick something that you enjoy playing, something that speaks to you in terms of its style, abilities, gameplay style, etc. You will be a lot happier long-term, and you are more likely to stick with the game if you just play what you find fun.
I think i HEAVILY needed this reminder as it’s been 2 years since I’ve played eso and can’t afford the update, but still want to play something until I can. Thanks.
Have you thought about potentially making a returning player guide? I've been out of the game since Greymoor and am totally unaware of what has changed really since then.
I’ve only been playing for almost two weeks, I’m 50 cp 163 or so, a high elf necromancer, and I’ve been having fun, but you taught me a few things, I just can’t wait to get good enough gear and a setup to do stuff like that boss. I know I can do it, and you showed me enough to give me more inspiration to keep going and just take it easier and not stress, because right now I feel so awful not being able to be high up in battlegrounds and dungeons, but I’ll get there, thank you!
Thanks delta. You were mt first go to I found for eso years back. I played on and off but finally took a long hiatus after elswyr . So I'm not new but wayyyy behind current. I'm happy to see you're doing eso still. Very thorough guides, much appreciated.
Great job as always Deltia🙂. Just few little adjustements for real beginners: - If you do your tutorial you can grab all of weapon and armour types for free - so you can save some money. It is peanuts but when you are starting it is usually all you have 🙂 - Even as lone wolf I can´t stress this enough - join player guild! Some of them are ment for loners as well. And don´t be shy to ask for help and maybe even starter gear. You can use level 10 armour to level 50 with ease. Just use weapons earned by questing and doing overleand stuff. Stay polite and you will be surprised how nice is the comunity.
Beginning BEFORE you go outside, you can get armor sets to start that skill line. Additional you can run around the tutorial area practicing and earning skills why you learn to level 10. Doing so allows you to go to Cyrodiil to start the only quest there for Alliance War skill line, a few skill points but allows you to get passive Continuous Attack which gives you 30% mount speed which is awesome early on!
Thanks for the guide Deltia! I just came back to the game and I’m really mostly excited about the new class but I’m leveling a HA Mag Sorc and familiarizing myself with the game again. Last time I had a max level character was at launch before they had Champion Points.
This was ages ago LOL but I just want to say once you have a basic idea of healing it is so much easier to level up a DPS character as a DPS healer hybrid as long as you understand you have a responsibility to keep people alive while doing damage. People usually don't need that much survival in the early leveling dungeons and you only have to wait a few seconds for a dungeon to pop as a Healer.
WOW! So much to learn. I just started playing this wonderful game. I see by your guide I have been doing most things wrong! Guess I will start over again, Thanks for the good easy to understand info.
I just started the game and a pretty important thing for me was the arsenal table: If you are a new player you have neither gold or any idea of the skills. Which can be crazy to a point you stop playing early (like I did years before). But getting your free housing and the arsenal table was a gamechanger. You just get your skill + attribute points reset once and save this profile in the arsenal. So you can always reset your character skills for free. So you can actually just try out every build and skills you want.
If you thing the start of the game is hard, what about players who spend thousand hours to build endgame char, collected mythics and other hard to get items in ESO+ DLC zones and dungeons to have BIS gear , upgraded all gear to golden which involves 10Millions of golds and when they finally did it, ZOS nerfed it all to the trash so their char/gear is totally unusable in endgame content and they have only 2 options. Restart from the scratch or quit. Many of them restarted not once, not twice, but 8 times as ZOS is doing it year after year.
I’m just now getting into this, it would be nice if as your describing the classes you put a little game play of how it looks and plays on the world that would be AWESOME and races passives on the side! :)
Thank you for the in depth video. I started playing a week ago and am currently at level 30. I wish i looked at this earlier, but better late than never! You earned yourself another subscriber.
I only play ESO 15 minutes a day , still the same way, clicking daily reward, doing writs, replenishing stock in guildhops, making daily endeavors and one random dungeon on normal difficulty - speedrun and then selling trash I dropped to NPC. It is boring, it is repeating and the only result is that I learn that list of bugs increased since the last time (yesterday for example I fought invisible bosses in dungeon, but it doesn't matter as I can kill them solo in two minutes even if they are invisible LOL). Then I say hello to friends and that's all. This game is dead and I have nothing interesting to do there except housing, but housing is limited with 700 slots which is unacceptable.

Huge piece of advice for new players that want to level quickly is don't waste your experience scrolls on grinding enemies. Use them on High Isle for the vents or in other areas for the large group activities (anchors, dragons, etc). The exp from those is so much higher, so that +50% or +100% pays off more.
I've been playing thise game since Day 1 and I have still not completed the Psijic Order skill line. It takes way too long so I stopped grinding it years ago
Truly, pick what looks good, pick what you want to stare at for hundreds of hours. That's going to be so much more important for most people's enjoyment.
I thought I just read (In game) that max carry weight was 110. Like it said I could use a bag merchant and buy bag space(10 at a time) with gold but max was 110. Obviously this is incorrect seeing your bag capacity.
October 2023, I just started ESO and when u do the Tutorial she brings u to an armor room after sword training. You can grab 3 pieces of armor from Light, Medium, And Heavy armor, Equip them each in a row and start each passive armor skill line right in the training. So no need to go buy that stuff, seems like there was a game change since the video?
What would be so valuable and widely viewed is a tutorial that explains the basics such as the relationships between things like dot's, crit, and how to effectively use your spells. I know nothing about those basic things but still enjoy gaming and ESO. But, would feel much more confident to try rnd's, trial's, or battlegrounds if I understood the REAL basic, basics.
Deltia, this is by far the best explanation video, I have seen on ESCO for new players. Thank you. As an older console gamer, do you have any suggestions for understanding how to use Discord and also to find people online to play with guild or otherwise?
@Deltiasgaming I went to the pub and tried to speak to Kailstag, but he isn't sitting at the table and I can't find him anywhere. Is there any other way to get the guild skill tree? I even started a new Aldmeri character and no Undaunted quest giver in the pub as well...
Sorry for the long comment but I think that making a starter guide for a modern rpg is surely a difficult thing to do. I would suggest the only true way to teach someone how to master ESO, Destiny or Warframe etc would be a painstakingly designed 2 month community college course with a lot of testing along the way. So I’m always fascinated to see someone have a go and I can understand why some default to 4, 5 and even 7 hour videos but for a relatively short video I haven’t seen anyone do a better job than you’ve done here. Thank you for making this video! I havent played in years and want to come back. Is a magicka based DK "Pyromancer" type of build viable? was planning on Dark Elf as I think they had increase damage for fire attacks?
Just bought the Necrom bundle last night and this guide just came out, so im basically already in the pipeline for sinking 10k hours into this game i know nothing about B)
If I bought the necro on my main account can I use it on my side xbox family account or will it need to be bought again? It lets me use the warden I bought.
You mentioned the term "end game." I've been playing three years (CP 1550) and have not yet heard that term defined. Maybe I get it from context, maybe not. Some have said it's what's after level level 50 CP160, with which I disagree. Can you (or anyone) opine? Thx.
endgame is in regards to the hardest pve content, it ranges from anywhere from vet trials all the way to Trifectas, score pushing etc and the definition changes based on who you ask. as for endgame pvp its entirely subjective, someone might say winning the pvp campaign is endgame pvp and others will say 1v2,3,4 etc is
Weird how people can say all those things about the races with a straight face. No, you definitely can pick the wrong race and might need a race change token that costs real money. The extra stuff he's telling you to buy are any race any alliance which is like $20 just to unlock the ability to pick any race and any alliance. The other thing is Imperial race which also costs money. Also funny how he doesn't mention the very first problem about this game that it just doesn't tell you what the race skills and traits even are.
@@rofo2107 man, if only there was a system in place that let's you deconstruct weapons and armor,, sell the junk items, and join a trading guild to sell things of higher value.
Hey bro I have a question, if I get mothers sorrow letd say at level 5 can I use it until cp 160? Or will I have to re farm it ? And does it drop in green ? Or blue or purple ? Confused about this.
@Deltia's Gaming one more question bro. Enchantments on weapons and armor are refilled by soul gems right? Are they unlimited or ate they like skysharfs you only get 512 or w.e the max is ?
@Deltia's Gaming oh and also if I get mothers sorrow at level 10 when I hit level 20 will it be useless or does it level with me ? This game is very confusing.
I have three Redguard characters that are just fine. You just have to pick the right champion points. So. Sick of these content creators saying they suck.
@@ShaikuraJarfaru Coz they do objectively suck in comparison to pretty much every other race. What you can get on redguard you can get better or with extra bonuses by playing something else. Sure you can do ok on it, but you'd do better picking something else even if it just comes with more HP. Redguard needs something and people ignoring how little it brings to players that want to play it don't help when it comes to making things fairer for everyone. Ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away. RG dont get played because they suck even in what they are supposed to be good at, an Altmer (a supposed magical focused race) is better at their job than they are. RG is great for Stam Sorc but I wouldn't call that great in a game with 7 classes with two resources each totalling 14 and thats only because it uses the most weapon skills, most classes barely use them over their class skills. Great you play them I do too (I have two) but I'm not gonna lie and say they wouldn't be better being anything else other than RG. But hey they are cool as hell.
Nord dragon knight here!!! Still learning I just got to level 70 champion level been playing about two three weeks. I've been really enjoying eso. Yeah my dragon knight that I'm building it as a hybrid tank, damage
I hate the tutorial "pick your start" as a new player. I almost quit right there. Don't give a new player a LIFE CHANGING decision off the bat. Also all the color changing options for settings, dont work, they are locked red for enemy at 0% brightness
Yeah but let's be honest mmos aren't good for long term pvp, I can't think of a single mmo where the pvp wasn't "ruined" at some point, it's a ton more work to balance than other game types

Thank you for making this video! I havent played in years and want to come back. Is a magicka based DK "Pyromancer" type of build viable? was planning on Dark Elf as I think they had increase damage for fire attacks?
Yes magdk fire damage in pvp and pve is still meta build.
Even as a Sorc i should equip all the types of armor?
Hi, just got the game and wanted to start the class arcanist. Whats the best way to unlock it? Thanks
I’m gonna start playing this again soon hopefully I can still make the battle mage build
Simply fantastic. The only thing missing was MODs.
Just bought the Necrom bundle last night and this guide just came out, so im basically already in the pipeline for sinking 10k hours into this game i know nothing about B)
Subbed
If I bought the necro on my main account can I use it on my side xbox family account or will it need to be bought again? It lets me use the warden I bought.
You mentioned the term "end game." I've been playing three years (CP 1550) and have not yet heard that term defined. Maybe I get it from context, maybe not. Some have said it's what's after level level 50 CP160, with which I disagree. Can you (or anyone) opine? Thx.
endgame is in regards to the hardest pve content, it ranges from anywhere from vet trials all the way to Trifectas, score pushing etc and the definition changes based on who you ask.
as for endgame pvp its entirely subjective, someone might say winning the pvp campaign is endgame pvp and others will say 1v2,3,4 etc is
Wait necro resource sustain is low? Stamcro uses both magic and stam pools now and has unlimited sustain without using a sustain food.
Vet Player but still love this video really nice explanation for everything
I’m a high elf dragon knight tank , being that race should be fine ?
Thanks
What is that motif/costume his character is wearing?
If anyone sees this, I can’t find the guy to do the undaunted guild. He’s not with the group. What do I do
Weird how people can say all those things about the races with a straight face.
I personally don't think the warden is better than the templar...
Its an elderscrolls game. Loot every crate, sack, urn, cabinet, chest, cupboard, end table etc. If its not nailed down, pick it up.
until your inventory get full of crap
@@rofo2107 man, if only there was a system in place that let's you deconstruct weapons and armor,, sell the junk items, and join a trading guild to sell things of higher value.
Hey bro I have a question, if I get mothers sorrow letd say at level 5 can I use it until cp 160? Or will I have to re farm it ? And does it drop in green ? Or blue or purple ? Confused about this.
You can recraft it with transmute later at end game. I'd farm it at low level then re make it later on.
@@Deltiasgaming you the man tyvm
@Deltia's Gaming one more question bro. Enchantments on weapons and armor are refilled by soul gems right? Are they unlimited or ate they like skysharfs you only get 512 or w.e the max is ?
@Deltia's Gaming oh and also if I get mothers sorrow at level 10 when I hit level 20 will it be useless or does it level with me ? This game is very confusing.
I really hate how your in-game menues look way better than mine since PS5 can't get these little benefits.
On ps player guilds recruiting on here ?
I love eso great game ❤
i cant find the undaunted npc why?
Are you a Nebraska football fan, Deltia? If so, you have my condolences
Savage
I have not played since Jan 22. I can't find the new maps lol
Redguard makes me very sad, I love the race and it's one of my favorites in all of the Elder Scrolls but they have been done dirty in ESO.
Bo-sun is how you say boatswain
I cant for the life of me find the undaunted haha i have been to every tavern and cant find it
Just pick a race. It doesn't matter that much to the casual player
Nord dragon knight here!!! Still learning I just got to level 70 champion level been playing about two three weeks. I've been really enjoying eso. Yeah my dragon knight that I'm building it as a hybrid tank, damage
Yes you can pay real money or there's items in the game that are very uncommon you can get to change your character😅
❤
I hate the tutorial "pick your start" as a new player. I almost quit right there. Don't give a new player a LIFE CHANGING decision off the bat. Also all the color changing options for settings, dont work, they are locked red for enemy at 0% brightness
Its not free to play if you buy the game to play
I guess it's too hard for eso player to dodge without cheat addons
I remember Deltia from years back when the game was good, this game's pvp is absolutely atrocious now....
Yeah but let's be honest mmos aren't good for long term pvp, I can't think of a single mmo where the pvp wasn't "ruined" at some point, it's a ton more work to balance than other game types
bro random question but are you a cop? i think you pulled me over last week...
So basically argonians has no value but the looks cool. gg zos XDD
Also racial passives just need to be removed from this game.
I have never played an MMO before. This was extremely confusing to watch
