Monster In A (Box) Basement

- I just couldn't let the Halloween season go by without doing something with the Halloween theme. I've always enjoyed the monster in the box props but didn't want to build something that big, so I figured I'd build a trap door.
It was a fairly quick build as I did it in about 4 hours. Luckily I had most of what I needed laying around my shop. I did have to run out and pick up the motion sensor light and the Halloween decoration with the voice recording.
If you're interested, here are a couple links to the windshield wiper motor and the rotisserie motor.
These are Amazon links that will connect you to my Amazon affiliate account, which means I will get a small percentage of any purchase made.

Very cool, and not a big box.👍
Yeah, I tried to avoid the "big box" look everyone uses
The voice thing really makes this project!
I was so lucky to find it when I did...and it was on sale for half off which was a nice bonus
So cool
Boom!
Right! BOOM!
Ok. That is awesome Doug.
Thanks!!
Thanks for the video Doug. Fun little project. The offset gear is a cam.
Cam! That's the word I was looking for haha.
I love your brain. How cool was that quick little out side the box thinking. Awesome.
That’s great Doug.
Thanks John
Sir: Very well done. I hadn't seen this setup. Good going

Can't wait to see pictures of the guillotine! Are you going to cut pumpkins in half? :)
Like the voice, I’m not kidding!
Haha cool. That darn thing keeps going off in the shop all day long
😂😂😂😂 ingenioso!!
Thank you very much!
So much fun! Doug, you could recreate Clown College, single-handed. Sorry I missed your last live-streaming. I hear your windmill that you made on one of your episodes is up at the Kiesers' cabin. Awesome.
Thanks Barb! Yes I took it up to Rob and Terri's property which is so cool up there
Love it! 💀 🎃 👻 👍 😊
Thanks Tony! And thanks for tuning into the live streams!
It's good fun hanging out in your workshop and listening while you work 👍 👍
This is wicked good Doug🤘🧟♂️🧛🏻♂️
Thanks Tim!
Is that going to be for your home display? If so would like to see it in action
I might bringing home or I might just sell it. We don't get many trick or treaters in my neighborhood so it wouldn't see much action
scary :-)
haha thanks JG
What the heck is a rotiserrary motor? LOL
Hmm? Did I misspell or say something wrong or weird? 😊 I used a rotisserie motor. The same thing used in bar b q grills and what you see in grocery stores that sell the rotisserie chicken
