I don't own a plum fragrance, although I've been considering Piguet's V. Intense for a while, so I would love to try this one. Because I've loved Lauder Youth Dew for so many decades (worn by a beloved piano teacher I had as a small child and a very strong emotional trigger but featuring peaches with the spices and balsam rather than plums), I think that the intense balsamic and spicy nature of this would suit me well once our weather cools down a bit. I'm in the U.S. I'm in Texas. Yesterday's high temperature was 104 degrees F, so a certain light-handedness with scent is required. Thanks for your inspiring work, Sebastian!
I just got a sample of this today and OMG am so in love! This one is a gem. You described it perfectly, for me the balsam with the dates at the dry down got me immediately and then you said the same about the balsamic dry down. The dates and the plums also together are wonderful. I think this would smell amazing if someone gets whiffs from it in the fresh air. I’ll just go and order me a full bottle ❤️
My favorite plum cplogne is Plum Japanoise. I find this Atelier so appealing because it features tons of notes that i've never gotten my nose on before. It it a bottle i must try. Commenting from FL, USA.

Favorite plum fragrance - I only tried Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy with dominant plan note. I liked it. I have never tried anything from Atelier Des Ors, but I always wanted to. Those bottles are amazing. Rouge Saray sounds fabulous to me. Thank you for the chance. I live in Europe, Serbia.

I'm definitely a fan of warm gourmand fragrances. I can't wait for winter to douse myself in sweet cinnamon and warm spicy scents. The only fragrance that I have that has got plum in it is Paco Rabanne 1 Million Lucky, but my nose isn't sophisticated enough to detect the plum note. Well, I'm in heaven listening to your review. I can't believe how much is already gone from your bottle! My favorite perfume that features plum is Kate Walsh's Boyfriend. This one sounds great because you said "PLUM" , vanillas and gourmands are my dream, and because you like this more than Lune Feline (Lune Feline is my fave from this line along with Aube Rubis)! Unfortunately, I did not like L'armes de Desert.....but maybe it's good that you said they are on different color spectrums. I am dying to try this new one. USA

Basic Instinct, the only VS perfume I’ve ever cared to hold onto, is my reference plum, it’s like a richer, more refined Beyoncé Midnight Heat...This perfume being reviewed reminds me of my old bottles of 20 Carats and Platine by Dana, with the flakes floating throughout. My favorite plum fragrance would be a tie between Rouge Sarây and Plum Japonais. They're quite similar although RS is sweeter, fruitier and less spicy. A plummy, datey oriental sounds wonderful. I love Olfactive's Studio's Ombre Indigo, which has a prominent plum note, and Heeley's Phoenicia, which is date-heavy, is one of my all-time favorites. Bois Sikar is another of my all-time favorites, so I trust that Rouge Saray is excellent too. I live in Nashville, TN, USA.

After a long hiatus, I've begun to sample and buy perfumes again. My first (and only, so far) plum-dominant frag is Isvaraya by Indult. Plum smells so luscious and sexy in a non-Siren-like way--don't know if that makes sense!--but it's incredibly appealing. I usually feel like I'm wearing a costume that doesn't suit me when I wear the usual sexy frags like Portrait of a Lady, for example. This sounds like a beauty! Hello, I’m a subscriber from Germany! My favourite Plum fragrance must be plum japonaise from Tom Ford, so cozy, fruity and juicy! I would love to get my hands on this one because the brand is really hard to find in Germany and so many of them sound so awesome. In this one especially the gourmand part with the cinnamon combined with the juicy ness sounds very intriguing.
I’m taking you at your word. I will get my hands on it, one way or another. I love plums. With plums, I prefer fresh and juicy, like the William Carlos Williams poem, although this sounds jammier, with the cinnamon and dates. I still need to know this one. I honestly don’t have many perfumes with plum notes. Of those I know, the ones where I smell plum most distinctly are in the opening of Cabotine de Gres, a fragrance which I really like, but can’t wear-and of course, the plum is gone in 15 minutes tops-and Rihanna’s Reb’l Fleur, which smells like a very juicy plum on first spray, and completely disappears in 15 minutes (or thereabout). But there it is. I need a good plum fragrance in my life. Great review, as always! I am salivating to try this one. I’m in the USA.

Indigo sent me a sample of this. After 4 months I’m just now testing it and wow it truly is very well done. Only one spray to my hand and it completely outshined my 3 sprays of Bleu De Chanel. My co-workers were also intrigued by the scent for I received several compliments.

I have not tried anything of this house yet; I am waiting for some samples of Lune Feline, Nuda Veritas and Choeur des Anges. My favorite fragrances are oriental - gourmand as well. Like you, I love balsamic fragrances but I have never smelled any with Peru balsam, so I would really love to be able to smell it and have this in my possession. Plum Japonais is my favourite plum based fragrance. I need to try this! Have you smelled LesHeures Voyageuses Oud and Santal by Cartier? So much of what you are describing is similar. Delicious, warm, plum, sandalwood, oud, agarwood & gaiacwood… slight spice maybe some warm vanilla & syrupy musk without being to sweet it def has a creaminess to it. And it takes you on a scent journey with the dry down. I’m so curious to know what you think! When I wear it I feel like I’ve been napping under a plum tree in the evening on a bed made of carved sandalwood warmed by the sun. It’s so decadent 🧡

I think Rouge Saray is very interesting because I guess that it's probably going to be very cozy and rich because with all those gourmand notes like vanilla, cinnamon and the fruits. Because it's so cozy it's going to be a joy to wear in the cold , when it's winter and you've just got this beautiful sweet and comforting scent cloud around you. I think it's quite sexy too. From the USA. I would say my favorite plum fragrance would be Plum Japonais by Tom Ford. It's a bit more towards the unisex side for me, but man does that smell amazing! As I've gotten more into fragrances. I've come to appreciate the entire experience of a fragrance, from the initial spray, through the mid notes, to the dry down. Black Orchid is another fragrance from TF that has those qualities to me. Rouge Saray also sounds like a fun ride as well! I love Oriental fragrances, and your description of a fruit compote makes it a definite want to try for me! Love your reviews! 😊

My favorite fragrance that is Plum base is Naughty Fruity by Mugler Les Exceptions. When i heard the name Rouge Saray, the first fragrance that reminds me is Rouge Trafalgar from Dior. For me Rouge Saray souds like a romantic, night fragrance. It was a very big surprise for me when i heard it's a frutty fragrance, especially whith the Plum note. Europe Romania
Thank you Sebastian for the great review. To be honest, the only Plum fragrance that I tried was Plum Japonaise by Tom Ford. I kinda appreciated it but they say it’s “Japanese Plum “. I am very interested in Rouge Saray, mainly of the dates note. I grow up in the Middle East and in Ramadan I used to have dates with dried plums and milk or vanilla water !! It was my favorite familial times. It’s quite difficult to replicate those memories without the scent here in New York, LOL

I think the only perfume I have with a plum note is Dark Purple, Montale. Right now I’m collecting delicious perfumes that are more for the day. There’s really no way to go out at night for a while, in California. Since I’m on a strict keto diet, smelling like a dessert is my preferred option. 😁

Plums and cinnamon immediately reminded me of Guerlain's new L'homme Ideal Extreme even before you mentioned the house, but this sounds miles better. Especially with that creamy balsamic texture. But Lune Feline IS my favourite from the brand! If this has overtaken it for you, I can only imagine....🤤🤤🤤 High praise indeed. My favorite fragrance that is Plum base is Naughty Fruity by Mugler Les Exceptions. When i heard the name Rouge Saray, the first fragrance that reminds me is Rouge Trafalgar from Dior. For me Rouge Saray souds like a romantic, night fragrance. It was a very big surprise for me when i heard it's a frutty fragrance, especially whith the Plum note. USA

I don't own a plum fragrance, although I've been considering Piguet's V. Intense for a while, so I would love to try this one. Because I've loved Lauder Youth Dew for so many decades (worn by a beloved piano teacher I had as a small child and a very strong emotional trigger but featuring peaches with the spices and balsam rather than plums), I think that the intense balsamic and spicy nature of this would suit me well once our weather cools down a bit. I'm in the U.S. I'm in Texas. Yesterday's high temperature was 104 degrees F, so a certain light-handedness with scent is required.

I just got a sample of this today and OMG am so in love! This one is a gem. You described it perfectly, for me the balsam with the dates at the dry down got me immediately and then you said the same about the balsamic dry down. The dates and the plums also together are wonderful. I think this would smell amazing if someone gets whiffs from it in the fresh air. I’ll just go and order me a full bottle ❤️

I'm definitely a fan of warm gourmand fragrances. I can't wait for winter to douse myself in sweet cinnamon and warm spicy scents.
The only fragrance that I have that has got plum in it is Paco Rabanne 1 Million Lucky, but my nose isn't sophisticated enough to detect the plum note. I only smell a combination of sweet honey and hazelnut.

Well, I'm in heaven listening to your review. I can't believe how much is already gone from your bottle! My favorite perfume that features plum is Kate Walsh's Boyfriend. This one sounds great because you said "PLUM" , vanillas and gourmands are my dream, and because you like this more than Lune Feline (Lune Feline is my fave from this line along with Aube Rubis)! Unfortunately, I did not like L'armes de Desert.....but maybe it's good that you said they are on different color spectrums.

Basic Instinct, the only VS perfume I’ve ever cared to hold onto, is my reference plum, it’s like a richer, more refined Beyoncé Midnight Heat...This perfume being reviewed reminds me of my old bottles of 20 Carats and Platine by Dana, with the flakes floating throughout. My favorite plum fragrance would be a tie between Rouge Sarây and Plum Japonais. They're quite similar although RS is sweeter, fruitier and less spicy. A plummy, datey oriental sounds wonderful. I love Olfactive's Studio's Ombre Indigo, which has a prominent plum note, and Heeley's Phoenicia, which is date-heavy, is one of my all-time favorites. Bois Sikar is another of my all-time favorites, so I trust that Rouge Saray is excellent too.

After a long hiatus, I've begun to sample and buy perfumes again. My first (and only, so far) plum-dominant frag is Isvaraya by Indult. Plum smells so luscious and sexy in a non-Siren-like way--don't know if that makes sense!--but it's incredibly appealing. I usually feel like I'm wearing a costume that doesn't suit me when I wear the usual sexy frags like Portrait of a Lady, for example. This sounds like a beauty! Hello, I’m a subscriber from Germany! My favourite Plum fragrance must be plum japonaise from Tom Ford, so cozy, fruity and juicy! I would love to get my hands on this one because the brand is really hard to find in Germany and so many of them sound so awesome. In this one especially the gourmand part with the cinnamon combined with the juicy ness sounds very intriguing.

I’m taking you at your word. I will get my hands on it, one way or another. I love plums. With plums, I prefer fresh and juicy, like the William Carlos Williams poem, although this sounds jammier, with the cinnamon and dates. I still need to know this one. I honestly don’t have many perfumes with plum notes. Of those I know, the ones where I smell plum most distinctly are in the opening of Cabotine de Gres, a fragrance which I really like, but can’t wear-and of course, the plum is gone in 15 minutes tops-and Rihanna’s Reb’l Fleur, which smells like a very juicy plum on first spray, and completely disappears in 15 minutes (or thereabout). But there it is. I need a good plum fragrance in my life. Great review, as always! I am salivating to try this one. I’m in the USA.

Indigo sent me a sample of this. After 4 months I’m just now testing it and wow it truly is very well done. Only one spray to my hand and it completely outshined my 3 sprays of Bleu De Chanel. My co-workers were also intrigued by the scent for I received several compliments.

Like you, I love balsamic fragrances but I have never smelled any with Peru balsam, so I would really love to be able to smell it and have this in my possession. My favorite plum perfume is Delectation Splendide by Terry de Gunzburg. Like Rouge Saray, this fragrance also contains cinnamon and vanilla.

Plum Japonais is my favourite plum based fragrance. I need to try this! Have you smelled LesHeures Voyageuses Oud and Santal by Cartier? So much of what you are describing is similar. Delicious, warm, plum, sandalwood, oud, agarwood & gaiacwood… slight spice maybe some warm vanilla & syrupy musk without being to sweet it def has a creaminess to it. And it takes you on a scent journey with the dry down. I’m so curious to know what you think! When I wear it I feel like I’ve been napping under a plum tree in the evening on a bed made of carved sandalwood warmed by the sun. It’s so decadent 🧡

Hi Sebastian, thank you for another great fragrance review. My favourite plum fragrance is Tom Ford Extreme, it's quite a powerful oriental fragrance. I think Rouge Saray is very interesting because I guess that it's probably going to be very cozy and rich because with all those gourmand notes like vanilla, cinnamon and the fruits. Because it's so cozy it's going to be a joy to wear in the cold , when it's winter and you've just got this beautiful sweet and comforting scent cloud around you. I think it's quite sexy too. From the USA. I would say my favorite plum fragrance would be Plum Japonais by Tom Ford. It's a bit more towards the unisex side for me, but man does that smell amazing! As I've gotten more into fragrances. I've come to appreciate the entire experience of a fragrance, from the initial spray, through the mid notes, to the dry down. Black Orchid is another fragrance from TF that has those qualities to me. Rouge Saray also sounds like a fun ride as well! I love Oriental fragrances, and your description of a fruit compote makes it a definite want to try for me! Love your reviews! 😊

To be honest, the only Plum fragrance that I tried was Plum Japonaise by Tom Ford. I kinda appreciated it but they say it’s “Japanese Plum “.
I am very interested in Rouge Saray, mainly of the dates note. I grow up in the Middle East and in Ramadan I used to have dates with dried plums and milk or vanilla water !! It was my favorite familial times. It’s quite difficult to replicate those memories without the scent here in New York, LOL

I think the only perfume I have with a plum note is Dark Purple, Montale. Right now I’m collecting delicious perfumes that are more for the day. There’s really no way to go out at night for a while, in California. Since I’m on a strict keto diet, smelling like a dessert is my preferred option. 😁

I don't believe I 've ever owned or tried a plum fragrance. What got me excited about Rouge Saray is the way you described, and how much you enjoy, Peru balsam. Dr. Google says Peru balsam is "similar to benzoin - sweet, delicate, very pleasantly balsamic, warm, majestic, plush, ambery resinous, powdery, fruity vanilla with light touches of woods and cinnamon. Despite all these soft and warm notes, this balsam is still bright and clean smelling ." Mama mia, I better get my hands on Peru balsam reaaaal quick. USA

Anything gourmand is a must try for me, and cinnamon is one of my absolute favourite notes in fragrance, so I just KNOW that I’d love Rouge Saray!
My favourite plum fragrance is Widian Black II, it’s fantastic, but alas I don’t have a bottle of it yet. It is definitely on my wish list!

I don't believe I 've ever owned or tried a plum fragrance. What got me excited about Rouge Saray is the way you described, and how much you enjoy, Peru balsam. Dr. Google says Peru balsam is "similar to benzoin - sweet, delicate, very pleasantly balsamic, warm, majestic, plush, ambery resinous, powdery, fruity vanilla with light touches of woods and cinnamon. Despite all these soft and warm notes, this balsam is still bright and clean smelling ." Mama mia, I better get my hands on Peru balsam reaaaal quick. USA
I'm from the EU, Hungary and I love gourmand fragrances so much! My favourite plum perfume is Byredo - Eleventh Hour. I just finished law schooul yesterday so this Atelier perfume would be the best present. Thank you for this review Sebastian, I enjoyed it very much as always:)

Plums and cinnamon immediately reminded me of Guerlain's new L'homme Ideal Extreme even before you mentioned the house, but this sounds miles better. Especially with that creamy balsamic texture. But Lune Feline IS my favourite from the brand! If this has overtaken it for you, I can only imagine....🤤🤤🤤 High praise indeed. Fav plum is TF's Plum Japonais but I recently tried Molton Brown's Muddled Plum and it's actually pretty dang good! Methinks a layering is in order! USA
Hi Sebastian, my favorite scents with plum are Floriental from Comme des Garçons and Plum Japonais from Tom Ford ... but this new one from Atelier des Ors sounds extremely good, wow. Exactly my thing! Greetings from Germany
My favorite fragrance that is Plum base is Naughty Fruity by Mugler Les Exceptions.
When i heard the name Rouge Saray, the first fragrance that reminds me is Rouge Trafalgar from Dior.
For me Rouge Saray souds like a romantic, night fragrance. It was a very big surprise for me when i heard it's a frutty fragrance, especially whith the Plum note.
