Enjoyed the Golden hoour with you. When you mentioned the pup I came out in hives and a twitch developed. It was a long time ago now and I didn't want it but guess who spent it's first two weeks sleeing with it to keep it from whining. They grow up, you fall in love with them and you wonder what you did without a dog. They seem to make so many memories for you, I am sure yours will be the same, enjoy the time with your new family member.
Hi Richy. Only just discovered your channel. Have watched your winter series, cracking! It's refreshing to see a genuine, down to earth, and (regular) kinda guy. Most channels these days seem to be very negative when testing bikes. In fact, most criticised the new DE and R. Saying it was basic still, underpowered to its rivals. It's not trying to compete with them. I'm 27, passed in June(had 6 bikes since then😂), when it came to buying a work horse, i settled on a 1200GSA 2019, whilst it's comfortable, good fuel range, and it's highly praised, you don't get told the service costs, they aren't as reliable as people claim either. I test rode the DE on Friday, coming straight of my 1220GSA. It was a little taller, and the gearbox/quickshifter was miles ahead of the GSA. For some reason, I found the 1050 to be easier to control at low speed. Clutch has more of a bite, slightly heavier clutch feel over the GSA. Coming to a stop, I was comfortable just putting my left leg down. Whereas as the GSA, I find I'm using both legs more often than my left. There's the feel I'm going to drop it sometimes. Maybe that's black of experience? Or the that it's around 15kg lighter? I found the turn in on the 1050xt wasn't as quick as the 1200GSA? I was stumped as to why it felt like that after everyone complimenting it's quick turn in, then realised as to why it felt slower, the 21" front😅. So after watching your review of the 1050DE and R in Greece. I just wanted to know if there was a significant difference in road feel between the R and bigger DE? Would you still take the DE over the R, just for the road? I only ride road at the moment. I'm just wondering whether it's best to have the DE for when I do eventually to some light trials? Sorry for the long message😂. Ride safe and keep up the great content ❤
If you do plan to take it off piste at some point, I would get the DE. The R is a fantastic road bike, but that’s all you’d be able to do with it. Least you’d have the choice with the DE. Thank you for being here, mate 👍
Crazy to listen to you talking about fasting. I have been doing it since August last year and it’s been amazing for me. Far more effective than calorie counting, using apps to watch what I eat etc. The weight has just melted off but I feel much better in myself as well. No bloating in the evenings when in bed or groggy in the morning. Would recommend to anybody and I do. Nice bike, looking forward to seeing how it stacks up as you put the miles on it.
Totally agree with you Rich. I only eat between 1200 and 2000 hours then nothing but coffee coffee coffee lol. Once you're used to it you definitely realise you don't need loads of food, you're body can easily go a day without loads of food
I only eat between 6am and midnight except Mondays 'cause that's the beginning of the week and Wednesdays being the midweek break and Thursdays as it's nearly the weekend and obviously Fridays as the end of the week celebration. Saturdays and Sundays I eat whenever I want. Tuesdays a tough day.
You could take him in a top box on the bike. Cut a hole big enough for his head and an old front screen and put it at the back of the box to keep the wind off him..He could be your plus1 on your trips..
Take the time to set the suspension up, it will handle like a sports bike when done properly. Apparently the 800 now has some off road chops, so will be interested in how the 1050 does.
I own and ride an AT, and a VFR, but my Wee ‘Strom is my everyday bike. I’ve bought three of them new and, cumulatively, ridden them over 200 000 trouble free kilometers from the tundra of Canada to the jungles of Central America. Not a huge fan of the Big ‘Strom though, but it is a dependable ol’mule!
It'll be good to see your view after the long-term loan. Totally understand the dilemma about editing software. I moved to Davinci Resolve recently. It is familiar, yet different, but I am getting used to it. You'll enjoy it.
I've probably been eating once a day for years, I do have to admit, I suffer with acid so that sorta puts me off, but I'm 52, 12stone 4lbs, I'm not into losing weight, I just wanna manage what I eat, there is no way we need to eat 3 times a day, as you said, one big meal a day is enough (as i eat a ham and chip butty when i write this 😅). Lovely bike btw and I hope the puppy is behaving. Thanks for sharing and see you on your next adventure ✌️ 🤙 🤟
Nice bike Richy, re the pup lots of patience and TLC when it comes to the training (it will pay off) and have Georgie play her part in looking after Cocoa or it will left to you and Laura Stay Safe

VStrom are a great bike, no nonsense bike, great for a bimble. Word of caution with Davinci resolve, if you’re processing 4K files (which I guess you will be) the free version struggles and you’ll get loads of lag. Not a problem if you e bought the full licensed version though, the codecs required for 4K processing are included. Great piece of kit for editing and you can really find time your colour grading. See you at ABR and I’ll def see you at WW23, very much looking forward to it, new venue looks awesome 🤘🏻 see thee soon pal.
Enjoyed the therapy session.😂 Doing a 18-6 fast myself so know how you feeling. Hard for first few days but ok now. Keep up the great content. By far my favourite channel.
Good luck with the pooch. My dad, who's 90, lost his little mate of 15yrs a month ago. He rang me up to tell me and the end of the conversation was not getting another dog. I took a trip down to see him and sure enough he's got another dog. Barking at everything, up all hours of the night, attacks your feet. Luckily I get to come home where there's no dog.
That's a bit irresponsible getting a dog at 90, even more so if its a puppy. From your comments I guess you don't like dogs too much so that begs the question what will happen to the dog if your dad goes into hospital or passes away. 😢
VStrom might be my next bike if I don’t get my stolen Bonneville back. I started fasting for 21 hours, eat at teatime every day lost 2 stones 😀 improving my arthritic wrists as well.

I’m a regular watcher of your biking videos which are great. You need a good nights sleep to keep safe on the bikes so I empathise with you regarding your puppy…. Beckmans dog training on RUclips - ABSOLUTELY THE BEST and, unlike others it’s free. I re-homed an 8 month Golden Retriever (Dave) that was unsocialised and had never been walked on a lead; using Joel Beckmans methods for around a year now and, although not perfect he’s 90% trained now……takes a lot of time and patience but worth it. Obviously your pup will probably need help from a local trainer too. Hope you and other dog owners on your channel find Beckmans helpful…..🦮🇬🇧
Wonder would you be ok with breakfast in the morning and then a small meal in the eve.I bloody love my porridge in the mornings. Isnt coco so cute.😊i still love the strom
Richy, best thing I ever did was draw up a contract with my daughter for the dog. She read and agreed and signed it. My goodness the number of times we pull it out to remind her what she said she would do and then decides she's too busy/tired/otherwise occupied. It's the single most important thing I'd recommend you do. And we love Dora the Cockapoo who is a core member of the family. Enjoy. Stuart
Depends what job you do I’m an active person and I’m also a tree surgeon and I’m running 3 days and weight training 3 days a week I could never get through on 1 meal a day impossible

Hi richy I've just bought a arai tour x4 awaiting delivery to NI is there any odd distortion looking out of the visor I wear glasses and some people said there was and I value ur honest opinion thanks great wee vid on the new v-strom
Not at all. I had read this before I got mine so was worried. The only time you’ll notice anything like that is if you have your visor cracked to the point that the bottom of it is in your eye-line - which you’ll never ride like this. Great lid, great quality.
Lovely video, enjoy the VStrom Richy! This resonates with me, I have been on low carb, no booze, one meal a day 18-6 fasting/eating window for the past 1.5 years. Lost 35kg (5.5st) and counting! Feels great!
Has the Dog dug any holes yet? The pictures I sent you on instagram of the holes my Cockapoo Pippa has dug have been filled in and new ones made to replace them 😭 lol
@@RichyVida Pippa is the most angelic looking affectionate pup , for about 5 minutes at a time then she’s full on mayhem the rest 🤣. 18 months old and still doing it 🤦🏻♂️ lol

@@RichyVida I don’t remember the exact spot but was in and around that area all afternoon, seen you and the guy carrying fishing gear which I thought was awesome, what a guy 😂
I thought maybe you being in my feed had something to do with location and phone use, but there’s nothing in the video title to suggest that. I only clicked because it was a pretty thumbnail, wasn’t until I watched and saw where you were, the date and guy carrying fishing gear, don’t see that every day.
Hopefully you read this Ritchy, could you tell me the name of the meal replacement, this sounds right up my street. Looked on all you vlog/video list and can't find anything. Thanks Ray

Hhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaa you have just become a full time dog walker same happened to me with my daughter all the best mate
My daughter did a power point presentation about having a dog. She was 12
No payment required but you can send me a Wildbad weekend ticket instead 😊
Like the idea of the diet, i'd add some fruit and maybe yogurt in the morning just to put something into the stomach..
No that’s the whole point! Nothing at all until evening meal.
Lovely video, enjoy the VStrom Richy! This resonates with me, I have been on low carb, no booze, one meal a day 18-6 fasting/eating window for the past 1.5 years. Lost 35kg (5.5st) and counting! Feels great!
Wow very well done, Sir! That’s incredible 🙌🙌
But is it “PROTECTED !“ 😂😂😂
Not even been washed, yet 👍
Has the Dog dug any holes yet? The pictures I sent you on instagram of the holes my Cockapoo Pippa has dug have been filled in and new ones made to replace them 😭 lol
Haha yes he keep’s trying! 🫣😂
@@RichyVida Pippa is the most angelic looking affectionate pup , for about 5 minutes at a time then she’s full on mayhem the rest 🤣. 18 months old and still doing it 🤦🏻♂️ lol
My dream ❤
What are those riding gloves please richy
Not Richy but can help, if not mistaken those are Endura Hummvee gloves, and are actually for mountain bike riding.
Correct. Listed in description
I've squeezed thnrough onto there before. They did close it because of the weirdos
Cockapoo 😅 what do u expect a nightmare 😢 good luck for 18months
Pretty sure I saw you out and about yesterday, today your video was in my daily feed, what is this sorcery? Never seen your videos before and didn't know who you were.....
No way! But cool all the same! Where were you/I?
@@RichyVida I don’t remember the exact spot but was in and around that area all afternoon, seen you and the guy carrying fishing gear which I thought was awesome, what a guy 😂
I thought maybe you being in my feed had something to do with location and phone use, but there’s nothing in the video title to suggest that. I only clicked because it was a pretty thumbnail, wasn’t until I watched and saw where you were, the date and guy carrying fishing gear, don’t see that every day.
🤩
going dogging richy dont tell the wife lol
Give me two tickets for free two wildbad weekend and I'll give you all the therapy you need thanks ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤rick
Haha nice one Ricky! 😂
Welcome to the crazy cockapoo club, full of love, sleep and zoomies lol
Nice colours but that's about it is a Suzuki I would rather ride a bmx we all no Honda is the way
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. You’ll see 👍
sorry but I came for the bike review not a diet plan and family negotiations about a dog then a computer "days of our lives"
Who said it was a bike review?
Looks crap 80 s style
Hopefully you read this Ritchy, could you tell me the name of the meal replacement, this sounds right up my street. Looked on all you vlog/video list and can't find anything. Thanks Ray
