This is the Study Kyoto official video for international students who are interested in studying at universities&colleges, Japanese language schools or other educational institutions in Kyoto, Japan.
1 out of 10 people in the Kyoto city area is actually a university student (approximately 150,000 students), by far the highest in Japan in terms of the proportion of students in its population. There are also about 12,000 students from all over the world who are studying in Kyoto. The city is extremely convenient for students, with many restaurants and stores for students throughout the entire area. In Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd.’s 2019 “QS World University Rankings” the Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe area was ranked at 18th place.
Kyoto is the ancient imperial capital of Japan, and is recognized worldwide as the country’s historical, cultural and spiritual heart. Over 2,000 temples and shrines and numerous other architectural masterpieces are located here, including fourteen UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites.

I applied for a semester abroad at Meiji University in Tokyo and Doshisha University in Kyoto, and ended up getting into Doshisha only. I was initially disappointed, since I thought I preferred Tokyo, but I’m slowly falling in love with Kyoto more and more. Can’t wait to go there in March!!
Edit: I’m back from my semester abroad and I miss Kyoto so, so much. I had the best time of my life there! Can’t wait to go back. This city is always going to have a special place in my heart

This was an amazing video ! I really want to apply for Kyoto University , as I am in high school currently , But in future I would like to study Humanity and Arts in Kyoto . I really like the scenario of Kyoto , The tradition , The culture it just influenced me and I would be graduated from high school in 2024 and most likely I would be really helpful if I got admission in Kyoto .

Very informative video! Congratulations for a job well done! I really want to pursue a masters degree in computer science. I was thinking of MIT at first, but I wanted to achieve two life goals at the same time. I love Japan, especially the culture, the people so I'm thinking of attending Kyoto University, if I can pass the entrance exam. I heard getting in Kyoto University is quite difficult. Kyoto Uni seems very open to foreign students, but It's kind of hard to find a list with the Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate programs. It is my guess that is quite different in Japan for choosing what to study.

Lovely video! Im currently a highschool student, but I've recently really been considering wanting to study abroad in Japan one day. To be honest, it even inspired me to start learning Japanese, so I would really love to go there! What draws me to Kyoto is the beauty and nature surrounding such an old, yet modern city. I want to go into Zoology or wildlife conservation, though I'm a bit unsure if Kyoto has many opportunities for that. Either way, I hope to one day at least visit! Thank you!

Kyoto do have some universities where you can study Zoology.
For example, Kyoto University. In the Faculty of Science, they have the Department of Zoology. We are not sure the program they offer matches your wish, but you can take a look. ;)

映像も良いが留学生の方々のコメント良い。ただ正直言って、京都は学生(留学生を含む)など一時的な人には良いんだけど、暮らし続けるのは面倒も多い。京都の人に京都の人と認めてもらうには、それこそ百年単位（つまり今住み始めた人の孫世代が大人になる頃に、ようやく認めてもらえるような感覚。もちろん住み始めた本人は、既に亡くなっている…）私自身、京都の大学で学んだし、地方から来た同窓、京都で１０代以上続く家の友人も居るけど、そんな感じです。これは決して悪口などではなく『伝統』というのは、そんな長い歴史の中で積み重ねられ、紡ぎ出されたものでしょう。東京あたりでは、戦後からの老舗？などと噴飯ものの台詞が聞かれますが、京都では大正以来程度では、老舗なんて恥ずかしくて言えません。５代くらい続いて『まだまだ、ヒヨッコですわ』と仰います。私も含め大阪の商売人は、そんな京都を嫌う人もいます（実際は嫌うんじゃなくて『苦手』なだけなんですけど…）だから留学生の皆さんには、美しい花々の咲くお庭ような京都だけではなく、お庭の下の土に複雑に根を張った京都の土壌？も感じてほしいと思います。
面白いですね。ちょっとわかります。私は京都生まれですが両親が他県出身者です。同級生の友人が実は平家の繋がりがあるだとか、知り合いが老舗祇園のお茶屋さんや漬物屋であるだとか、もう何世代にも渡って京都らしさを作ってきた方も普通にいらっしゃる土地です。ずっと京都に住んでいる方が多いので、大抵の方は、知り合いの知り合い、その又知り合いだったりします。だから揉めては大変です。とても狭い世間で繋がっているのです。外部を受け入れないというよりも、その知り合いに自分が入ればみんな繋がっていくといった感じですね。昔から旅行者も多いので、内と外を分けることを上手に行える、そんな町です。東京が何かをしたとしても、いやいや京都は京都でやっていきますよって余裕で言える人々が住んでいます。

I was born not long after WW11, Australian, every family lost loved ones who went to war to save our country from Japan invading us, it all over now but I wonder if the young know about this, or has it been wiped from history..

But that was in past, I will not reproach the Arabs for invaded Spain centuries ago. Same with this reproach the actual Japanese people for what their ancestors did it's a kind of stupid.
