I'm behind! I saw the KYD video as well, and it's so wonderful that although it was the same location, the two videos showed different things. I find the Audubon Field Guide to Florida really useful for identification. It covers the most common animals, birds, foliage, water stuff etc. I know you're not in FL any more, but since you seem to circle back often might be worth getting! And I"m sure they make it for all the states. Safe travels! Hi to the pups.
Tara, thanks as always for watching and glad you're catching up to current! Excellent suggestion about the Audubon guide! Have you heard of the Merlin Bird ID app? Our ranger at Big Bend told us about it. You can snap a picture OR record their sounds and the app will ID the bird! Will look up to see if there's a digital version of the bird books since space is always a premium on the road. 👍 -Howard
Love Nasa! My niece and I went to see Atlantis take off. It was an incredible experience! Love Disney too! Took my nieces every year for spring break when they were young. You have to drive through the Savannah Wildlife Refuge when you're in this part of the country. It's only a few minutes off of I-95. There's millions of monster alligators there. You won't be walking in this wildlife refuge. I live on Hilton Head Island, SC so the alligators that get too big for here are relocated to the SWR. I saw the first episode of RV unplugged last night. It was great! Can tell this is going to be fun to watch! Wish you two the best of luck!
Sandra, thanks so much for the recommendation on the Refuge near Savannah! Yep, we're so excited that RV Unplugged episodes have started, too. Lots of fun and laughs to come with that series. 👍 -Howard
Juan that's 100% true! I managed to snag ONE night of camping online and kept checking the site and calling in. Eventually I got it extended to three nights, which was perfect! 👍 -Howard
So glad you got to go to Disney. One of my favorite places in the world. Troy and I met while we were both working at the Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom 20 years ago. 😳 Looking forward to the way western NP vids as we have never been there. You've got such a full year, hope you are taking time to enjoy it all. 🤞💞 -Troy & Aimee
Kevin, tough call as they are more different than similar! Houston's included bus tours with a stop at mission control is a incredible glimpse into today's NASA and yesterday's Apollo project. There's more to SEE from a rocket/shuttle aspect at Florida. They sort of tie with their interactive displays and museum galleries.
Cape Canaveral was pretty cool. We went last year, kinda a one and done for me. I almost died with the price of admission 😂 but I love history and it’s full of it. I do believe I saw a double breasted Colonel Sanders woribly nugget bird 🤣😆. Great video 👍🏼
Love the mythical bird names Howard! We do that too - ha ha!! Very cool to go to Disney World - being from SoCal, we always enjoyed Disneyland. Oh Death Valley - my ancestors were the Bennetts - the ones stuck in Death Valley in 1849, so that is an interesting place for me!
Abraham Lincoln National Historic Park in small town Hodgenville, Ky is a fun small park full of, you guessed it, Abe Lincoln’s birthplace history. There’s also a great museum in town and a replica of the statue at the Lincoln Memorial. Don’t miss the Sweet Shoppe and a Laha’s burger down on the square!
I'm on Whidbey Island in WA and Olympic National Parke is huge, but there are no road going through the park, only arround the park, so if you are staying in the park and you are changing campgrounds, plan alot of time! Then you can come over to Whidbey Island, using the Port Townsend ferry, right to the town I live in! Coupeville, WA. We have a couple private campgrounds and some state campgrounds to stay in. I really like Fort Casey State Park.
