I was kayak fishing of Moturekareka Island not too far from where these boys are fishing. I hooked a Kawahai which then got hit by huge Kingfish. That thing almost dragged me to the Coromandel! Bloody powerful fish.
i have been watching your vids for while and a love the videos i live in new zealand and i have been trying to hook up a kingfish can you tell me where you guys where fishing for the kingfish?
Mate I caught a 720mm one in the pukerua bay near Wellington. Depends where you live and how far your going out. I was only in like 40ish meters of water
Hey mate. Can I suggest going to the three kings for a epic kingfish trip. Dont bother with taking photos of any yellowtail kingfish under 30kg. Biggest I have seen out there in photos was close to 50kg. Bass over 80kg on some trips
Curious how you top this series? Field Trip, Panama, now Aus/NZ. Part of me is already wishing my summer away so I can go back to Manzanillo Mx and get back on the water. Great vid
Loved the episode bro, 2 things though, any particular reason none of the yellowtails were kept and cooked? and secondly, did you ever find out what was in the batter? inquiring minds want to know lol :-D

The Kingfish kept getting bigger. Nice to enjoy the different fish under the boat. Tasty looking supper.
SO tasty!
I noticed 1 thumbs down on this video. Must be someone jealous that they aren't on the water. Great series of videos, really enjoying them. Nice work.

Hi Brenda 👋
That big yellowtail looked like an awesome fight. You have to find out what is in that batter for us.👍
I named my kayak "shark bait" seems a good name lol, I feel like that when I'm fishing off it.

Hahaha on to the next adventure brother. Alaska is next
What kayak do you use?
This was a Viking Profish Reload but it wasn't mine
What is your jig fishing gear ?
my biggest kingfish is my first kingfish and it was 147cm
5 k paddle? Mothership has engine trouble?
So these are Yellow Amberjacks?
No, but they’re in the same family as amberjacks.
Loved the episode bro, 2 things though, any particular reason none of the yellowtails were kept and cooked? and secondly, did you ever find out what was in the batter? inquiring minds want to know lol :-D
We been eatin yellowtail sashimi the whole time bro. They’re best raw IMO. Catch and cook episode comin up next with 4 diff fish
The secret batter recipe is flour, salt, pepper, and malt vinegar. That’s it lol
Are u drifting the whole time?
No, current was slow, pddlingnaround looking at fish finder
Hey Superman, You might have shared the shark fight with the others. Saved some wear and tear on your body.
You didn't keep any? Yellowtail sashimi is one of the best you will have!
Huh? Yes, we did. We’ve eaten sashimi in every video in this series so far i think?
Robert, thought youd have new vid out by now, Thursday has come and gone, where is your lady assistant?
Jamie no longer works for me. Episodes come out every Tuesday and some Thursdays (not every Thursday)
I think it's the beer brand he uses and not so much the spice in that batter.
Kingies can grow to 150lbs... my biggest is 92lbs
Insane! Can’t even imagine
I would love to go Kayak fishing with you
Maybe we can make it happen one day!
Uni better than Roy's lobster "paste "?
i live in new zealand in Auckland i live in papakura
Me too, I live near Leigh where there skipper is from.
Bro i know that batter
Pot Batter

Killer vid bro. But it's not Panama. Dude is it really safe to put raw stuff in your mouth. Bless up and be safe out there.
Your videos are too good Robert. Please make them worse. Thanks
Haha my bad
