Just in case you didn't know- around 10:10 there's a bunch of random green flashes/frames on the screen. Dunno what's up there, but figured I'd mention. Awesome stuff! Any member of the porgy family tends to be some of my favorite fish to cook/eat
Thanks for the post, I dig those high vis orange jacket/hat, sun covers. Nothing like being sure you can be seen--or I should say doing all you can do to be seen. That is using your head on the water.
I hope you have safe & healthy travels Rob. I Always appreciate the content you provide and the style fishing, respect and love for the craft. Much love from here in Las Vegas!
Better video with the explanation of the baits used and how you are using them. That is what I look for and this may be the best one you have done if you have done as much as this one. Good job again on explaining the fishing to help us viewers out wanting to come back and watch more of your filming expertise! Fishing is different there than here only by location and water depths. It helps to fish here as well with all that great info! Tight lines and keep the videos coming!
Thanks for the feedback Charlie. You aren’t the first to tell me they like the educational stuff. I’ll do more of that. I worry that it bores other people, but I enjoy sharing what I’ve learned. And ABSOLUTELY these techniques, like many I’ve learned around the world, can work in very different fisheries. Fish are fish and many of them behave similarly, even if separated by thousands of miles. Thanks again!
2:39 / 7:19.. amazing views..6:00 Stephen caught a monster snapper good for Boodle Fight if u broil it w/ a lot of onions/tomatoes in it's slice tummy...13:34 the fish is cuter than Brooks..lol.. Love to see again Marty's lobster shorts.. .enjoy ur snapper..calamari..etc..

Hey Robert! Great job on the latest videos! They mean more than you know especially in these trying times. I know you’re busy AF but when you can could you talk about how you rig out your PFD. What’s in the pockets ect...
You came back to NZ? I did a 3 day mother ship trip on the Bounty Hunter a couple of months back. We went to the Mokes and Great Barrier. My freezer is still stocked with Snaps and Kingys!
Dude! Awesome series! So I’m digging the spinning rod. I found one if your videos where you said it was a major craft rod but I can’t find the thread and I can’t remember the model. When you get a chance can you post the model you guys are using, thanks!
Nah mate snapper absolutely love lures and especially soft plastics! When they aren't mooching on the mussels and urchins they are hunting live prey, you'd be surprised how hard snapper will crack a lure when in hunting mode!
Love it bro! Haha the rich folk heli onto that rock bro 😂, mean slay up brother, defenitly need to get on the those kayaks before dawn tho man! Dunno if it's the same back home but it goes off down under. P.s today was not your day my bro!
What was the bait casting combo the guy in the yellow kayak was using? It looked like it was really easy cast all day on the yak. I believe Brooks Beatty?
Another great video. That radio overboard reminded me to ask a question. Every time I see you with a radio it's in and out of a pocket, under your leg, under your seat and never tired to you PFD. Why not?
Because I don’t always want it attached to my PFD. Usually it’s in the pocket of my NRS Chinook OS life jacket. But I use it on the boat and elsewhere and I like to minimize the number of cords/leashes/lines attached to my body. More to get tangled up in if I flip.
@@YakFishField each to his own. Mine is always tied to the shoulder of my PFD on a short leash so that if I end up in the water or separate from the kayak I will always have it and my PLB is also on a leash but in a zipped pocket. On the tangle side I don't leash rods and tools. Let them sink.
It be like that bro. I remember being outfished by my buddy and it was his first time. I told him to do exactly what I was doing. I got skunked badly that day, left with nada!
@@YakFishField damn! I've been fishing NZ for at least 20 years and have never managed a snapper that size, to get one on his first trip is amazing. Although Great barrier and the gulf in general is one of the best snapper fisheries in the country
We kept plenty of fish mate... did you not see us eating them at the end? We just kept the ones we needed. And besides, it's called sport fishing, and it's a multi, multi billion dollar industry. Millions around the world enjoy it. If you don't, no worries brother. If you don't like the content, leave the content creator in peace and move along. The Play was free my man.
Cant wait. These vids are like a mini vaca during the current situation. Please keep them coming!!!!
Working to crank 'em out as fast as I can! We'll be chatting live at 4pm Central, hope to see you at the premiere!
to be there is a blessing itself!! the bites comes second! :D

Great vid Bud. Again, the bloopers add an extra layer of what fishing is all about. Tight lines Brother and keep after it! 👍🏽
I’ll try to include them more often!

So glad to hear it Noah. Thanks for coming along on the adventure 🙏🏼
Marty changes his shorts and Rob gets skunked. Forget about lure color and jig head weight, those lobster shorts are the key bro.
Holy sh... you might be on to something 🤔
What a cool adventure!

I can do that. It’s the NRS Chinook OS (offshore) and it’s my favorite one. I’ll include that in a future vid

i missed that crispy tanned ginger skin, looking like a snack as always rob.
Why thank you, Emma. Making me blush over here. Also, adding “crispy tanned ginger skin” to my Tinder profile
@@YakFishField hit me on messenger and ill gladly give u something to really blush over ♥.
I would like to see you catch a lot of fish on the umbrella rig
I have a video where I did that on a Texas river from a few months back
Great stuff

Hey Rob, next time you go snapper fishing in NZ or Aus try using your Catch Beta Bug.....absolute snapper candy. ;)
Snapper mostly bite on bait and it’s pretty weird but the small ones 1-3 kg just taste better
Smaller fish usually taste better and we didn’t use bait at all. Did great. Much more fun on plastics in my opinion

I honestly am not sure. I think maybe 13 Fishing

Hi sir robert im from philippines im watching your vedio i want to go new zealand for worker can u help me
Tuler
What is the purpose of this crazy fishing you catch and let go.
We kept many fish, but we caught more than we can legally keep. It is called “catch and release” and also called “not breaking the law.”
That was the only time I have ever seen Marty serious
Same.
To khủng
10:12 issues?
Yeah dunno what happened
塩焼きにして食べたい🤤
How come it isn't called a New Zealand Snapper?
