Shout out to my fellow Brats! We are the forgotten warriors who have served our Country since the day we were born. It's only now, in my 40's, that I truly understand the impact of my upbringing on my character. We also know the utter confusion when someone asks us....."Where are you from?"

I miss my childhood friends. I moved sixteen times in fourteen years while my dad served in the Air Force. Everybody was always moving. It's nice to have a home.

Read somewhere a long time ago that a military family is its own culture/subculture - from a fellow brat, this is definitely true even if not every family’s experience is the same

Bravo military brats! Military kids! Children of soldiers world over...the stories from the different barracks if told well can have a great positive impact to our societies and the world.
We could organise for a world conference or sumit to share experiences of military brats world over and work out possible solutions to some of our psychosocial challenges as military brats

What a great group of kids, and so positive!!! I still cry as an adult when I have to leave friends!!!! I may never see them again! With Multi media, I can still talk to them! That is great!

I was born there in 1977. we did 3 tours in Germany and that's the only one still open. Nuremburg 88-91 then Wurzburg 94-96. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

The military has the right to tell the man drafted where to go. Not anyone else where to go.

Other military families have the wife and children staying in one town their whole lives all by themselves or with some other friends or family members taking care of them while the man does the moving all by himself until he's out of the military and that works as well. Sometimes the wife and kids don't want to move and that's fine too.

@TRUTH HURTS! our second baby was very high risk and we had to make the crazy decision to have me and the first kiddo to leave the base while my husband was overseas and stay with family. It was crazy to me how sad it was to know he'd come home and we wouldn't be there.
