  • OJ Hall shares his experiences as an “Army Brat,” someone who grows up with a parent or parents in the military. This often means moving constantly, and OJ Hall was no exception. Before he was 18 he had lived in California, Saudi Arabia, Maryland, Colorado, Rhode Island, Virginia, Kansas, Massachusetts, and Alaska. In this inspiring talk, OJ Hall explains how his experience showed him the importance of pursuing deep relationships and investing in family.
Oscar (OJ) Hall is currently a senior at the United States Military Academy, majoring in Defense and Strategic Studies. He is from Eagle River, Alaska and comes from a military family. Other than playing football for most of his life, he enjoys hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He will be an Armor officer and will be serving with the 1st Infantry Division upon his graduation.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

One thing I hated the most was having to move around every 3-4 years or so and having to make new friends.
