Bought one 1 year ago, but unfortunnally got no piece to hold the gun in fighter mode (the one to put between the arms), so it is good to have the little hook to attach the gun to the crotch. There a missing information in the video, it is to show that super parts have movable panel to allow the arms to fit in the center of the arms and you have to cheat with gerwalk joint and leg joint to get a nice fighter mode with super parts. Like we can see on anymoon, the gerwalk joint is not in closed position.
Can you share your thoughts on the similarity between the SV-51 from Macross Zero and the VF-27 (and the VF-25). They are all essentially the same except for wing comfiguration. I'm more interested in the real life design rationale than the lore.
Hello, i bought a second hand one vf 27 but the articulated trubines of the super parts is loose. Does anyone got a tip to fix this? i tried to remove it so i can tighten it by adding glue on the joint to make a bigger contact surface but was unable to detached it.
Glad I passed on this guy. I don't think it's worth 200+ and I'm not a huge fan of the character in the show. Maybe if they do a true renewal down the road I'll give it a second look.
Hi scorched earth dude, i just got a used vf27 renewal off amazon and its alittle problematic, but still awesome. However, its joints are loose as hell. I've used clear nail polish on my vf29's joints to make them stiffer, but is there a better option? I buy these to own and keep not for their value, so im not worried about resale.
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of experience making fixes to the joints. I look for an obvious screw I can tighten first, then I look for the least invasive/permanent fix, often times that's just using a tiny piece of clear tape (works great for things like the YF-29 wing pivots). Maybe a modeler or customizer can point reading these comments can add some pointers.
my best trick is to use nail polish + a layer of matte clear coat. i used it on the internal joint shoulder in my pg exia (a loose joint that has to hold lots of weight + a giant sword in case you are not ito gunpla) and it works like a charm
I just (as in, yesterday) tightened the screws on my Renewal VF-25, and it worked well. For the transformation hinge in the shoulder (which was the most egregiously loose part), I used a dab of extra thin cement mixed with bits of citadel sprue (a cheap alternative to putty) to add some friction, and that seems to do the trick too. But floor polish is probably better!
