Ha, I suspect RUclips will enjoy some popularity while everyone self-isolates. Never played Animal Crossing, but I do play games eevery so often. I have phases :) I am currently playing the Witcher again, and thinking of finishing Zelda BotW. My favourite game is Horizon Zero Dawn though :) All on my boyfriend’s playstation.
@@myriamtillson I love those titles! HZD was the first game I downloaded for my PS4 because I watched someone play it. I'm terrible at it but it's just so beautiful. And obviously, BotW and the Witcher series are also incredibly beautiful. Sometimes, I gotta take a moment and enjoy the scenery. lol Thank you for answering. And happy gaming! I love this picture. It's incredibly healing and loving. It's stupid but when i look at it i feel like i can smell the flower.

I absolutely love this painting. Not only is it visibly pleasing, but I appreciate the symbolism of life blooming from within the snake. A lot of times, especially in media, snakes are seen are evil creatures but actually symbolize life and rebirth, and to me, this painting is just such a lovely depiction that symbolism (and perhaps the fragility of life or even the fragility of the reputation of snakes??). Either way, I adore how you painted this; it feels very calming and inspiring.

This is brilliant!
My favourite part of the painting is the translucent snake. I, too, love painting translucent objects. It's all about painting what you see, rather than what you think you see. Painting the colours beneath the object, rather than the object itself and then adding the highlights. If you can capture the way the light bounces off and through the object then you're good. Not scary everyone, give it a go!
Living where I live I get a lot of up-close-and-personal time with snakes. The Copperheads are ok, they only grow to about 1.2 metres and are pretty shy and can only kill you about 10 times over. The Tiger Snakes are a bit angrier and grow to 2 metres long and can kill you 20 times over. I just happen to live in the middle of snake central. Some neighbours who previously lived about 50 km further up the mountain couldn't believe just how many we have here. I really don't mind them, except when they are around my dogs, who won't leave them alone. And then there's the ones who get caught up in the netting around my blueberries. Nothing you can do but put them out of their misery in that situation.
Thanks Blue! Indeed, painting is all about learning to paint what we see rather than what we expect to see, which is one of the tough parts of the learning process. It’s essentially letting go of preconceptions and expectations. I adore snakes, they are such strange creatures, so different from us, and so full of symbolism. I love the sound of where you live to be honest, as a countryside person living in one of the biggest cities in the world, I live vicariously through the accounts of people like you, haha :)

It’s so beautiful. It’s one of my favorite pieces from you still! I hope your shop sale goes well, lovely Myriam. I unfortunately can’t purchase anything right now as I have to save every last penny for paying for my next zine and the final payment of my enamel pins. 😭 As far as the current situation in the world, even though (as you know) I’m an extremely anxious person, my anxiety about it went away fairly quickly and I feel a lot of peace about it. I think it will pass sooner than we realize and life will normalize within a couple of months. I’m glad precautions are being taken to limit people’s interaction so that we can somewhat control the spread of the virus. I hope everyone is staying safe and remembering to be considerate of others by not purchasing more than they need and helping those who are more at risk than the rest of us. Much love ❤️

I think being in a city like London makes it all feel more claustrophobic, as well as the fact that my parents are older and live in a different country, and my boyfriend and brother both have asthma. It’s all a bit scary, but overall, I’m ok too for the time being, and I just hope that we can all come together as a society to help protect those more at risk. Sending you all the love

Ugh. I'm on your shop website right now and - I shouldn't even be spending money AT ALL- but it's so hard to pick something. Your art really speaks to me. Shadow, cherish, moondust, phosphenes... I'm in a really rather broken state right now as you may be able to tell by some of my choices. I haven't even gotten to your mental health series that you did... maybe I should pick something less descriptive and reminiscent of my current state as to not manifest it even more. Yet your art just speaks volumes to me.
I'll have to mull this over for a while to come to a final pick...
Also wanted to add, although it goes without saying, you are unbelievably talented. I love all your work. It's absolutely unique. And the pricing of your originals is very fair. Although I'm not in a position to afford one of your originals at this moment in time but to see the effort and your creativity is just worth more than money could pay for. One day. One day I'll get an original.

And for now I only have Inktobers on my shop as originals yes, I do have a bunch of paintings waiting to be listed, but I am indeed keeping a few for a solo show at the end of the year (if it goes ahead). I am also working on switching shop platforms, and am keeping a few originals for that new shop launch. I’m hoping to put a newsletter together before the shop launch, so that people can keep an eye on it, I’ll announce everything on here as it goes along. :)

one critic... maybe saying in the title that the snake is not made with watercolor. It's a beautiful painting I'm not complaining about the use of gouache in itself but by the title I was expecting watercolor for the snake, at least, and I'm a little bit disappointed. I'm not saying it's clickbait or misleading, not from you, but I would have liked to know that the transparent snake is in fact majorily done by gouache.. In the end it's useful and interesting, I like the piece, the snake, the technique is interesting and I might try it.
That’s fair, I can see why you’d feel that way! Sorry! It wasn’t intended as clickbait at all, I am just trying to not have titles that are too long and descriptive, so I kept the key elements of the piece, and as it is 80% watercolour, I stuck to watercolour in the title, but I can see how that might be misleading since I also mention the snake. I might add gouache to the title :)
