How are you guys spending your time lately?! Me, mostly as usual, but I also started playing The Witcher again. I'm going to try and not fail quests this time, I expect to fail at that. XD

I am a pretty big introvert so not much has changed other than not going out as often as before. I have really been enjoying Witcher 3. It was the first witcher game I have gotten to play and I love it. It is such a massive game with so much to do. lol

I LOVE The Witcher! I wish I could replay, but my kiddo is too young to watch and he's obviously home from school. I still haven't finished the main campaign, but I've done almost every sidequest, lol. Good luck!
I bought Red Dead Redemption 2, Animal Crossing, and Hollow Knight. I have no time to play a thing, but they're there for when I get sick of making massive drawings/paintings and after the kid goes to bed.

I am also torn between wanting to go outside and sit in the sun, and the remembrance that it's March in England and therefore bloody cold.
    I enjoyed the video 😁

Hi Miriam, I always find your videos in the early hours of the morning here, my quiet time before my animals and my husband wake up for the day. It's certainly a time to look for the tiny pleasures - those first rays of spring sunshine, or in the southern hemisphere, those last still autumn days.
I find that last sketch really interesting and find myself holding two interpretations. The first is that the woman is ill and the man is giving support and love, albeit while wearing a gas mask. The second is that the man is ill and the woman is giving him her very breath through the connection between his mask and her lungs. The second was actually my first thought, but I've listed this second because after some thought I realised that the first was perhaps the way most people would see it? I don't know. How would I know, or presume to assume, how any one else sees anything? Best to not know or try to understand what goes on in my brain XD!

Thanks Blue! Early morning is a special time in the day, I love it when the world feels still and barely awake yet.
Your second interpretation is my own also, although any interpretation that feels personal to the viewer is good. ;)

The second u showed your sketch of the two figures it touched me so much, I think it’s a beautiful beautiful allegory for our time. I want a print of it please ❤️

Something important for all of us to know, we are NOT stuck in our homes, we are SAFE in our homes. Once everyone realize this, our own personal attitudes will change. I also felt stuck, but once I heard this from another RUclipsr, then my attitude changed and I feel better about my situation

Thank you for the idea about sketching with brushpen. I have recently been almost paralyzed with pressure about finishing pieces in my sketchbook, so much so that I use references to finishing a lot of the drawings, and it's not healthy, it puts like you said a lot of pressure on oneself. I will try to be more loose with a brushpen, using graphite and the ability to remove and refine doesn't seem to be working for me.
I loved the gasmask drawing. I'm looking forward to the hand drawing video, I think you draw hands beautifully.💜

    • @myriamtillson

Thank you sweetheart for the lovely video. The last sketch I was thinking if you released it as a postcard? Raw as you said may be able to help me and others to put our feelings into artists words. Pleeeeeeeease!?! I understand if it’s too personal though xxx but I nearly cried when you were drawing it out first at the start, I saw what you meant the tenderness of the figures. It’s beautiful and shows how people huddle together in times of need. I live in a newly ish built town and always felt that the atmosphere around here to be quite separate. Now in these times some are really making it bearable for us too. Those people are so kind it makes me cry. Xxx lots of love 💕

Thank you! Postcards are a Patreon thing, so I won't impede on that territory, but maybe I'll offer the sketch for a limited time as a print, we'll see. A lot of people are asking :) I'm glad you like the drawing, it made me feel quite emotional while drawing it too. I hope you are well and staying safe!

the course on hands would be quite helpful yes :) so far i can only draw good-looking, and actually-looking-like-hands hands using my own hands as a live reference, which works sometimes but not always. and photo references of poses i actually want to draw, for some reason don't help with my drawing of hands pretty much at all, and the hands end up being weird blobs of matter on the page lol

    • @myriamtillson
      @myriamtillson  4 года назад

That's interesting! I usually hear the other way round, people finding references easier to work from than live hands :) I'm actually planning on having a section in the tutorial explaining how to make hands look a specific way, such as young, old, gnarly, monstrous, cartoonish..that kind of thing. Maybe that can be helpful :)

    • @myriamtillson

Thank you Donna! Sorry about the shipping fee, it can definitely rack up sometimes. I d my best to keep the prices as low as I can, but for booklets especially, I can't replace them if they get lost, so tracking is essential, which makes tracking more expensive. I'll have more sales in the future, so hopefully that can help at some point :) Take care!

@@myriamtillson absolutely appreciate the extra precautions. The fee is definitely justified. The fault is on my side for not being prepared haha. Take care always!

Hey Myriam! You are such an inspiration to me! How did you start your RUclips channel and grow your audience?

    • @myriamtillson

Hi Sarah, thanks for the kind words! I started my channel on a whim, with an old camera, and slowly upgraded my hardware as I went. My audience has grown organically, I haven't done anything specific other than upload on a fairly regular basis, and try and cultivate a friendly atmosphere by doing vlogs and replying to comments :)
