    This piece is a little different in format than usual but I felt like it fitted the piece well, so I hope you'll enjoy it!
    I am focusing a little more on the darker aspect of my work in this one, and I want to play around with my aesthetic and video style and various focal points in the future, so if you like this, let me know!

      Thank you Blue, what a beautiful quote :) I think I am a little of both honestly, I am pretty bright as a person in real life, but I am definitely attracted to the darker things in life. I'm not sure life is quite a distinct a dichotomy as it is sometimes easy to think it is :)

    • @bluewren65
      @bluewren65 3 года назад

      @@myriamtillson I think those of us who contemplate the darker side are generally optimists (I know I am). Ironically we are also the ones who often deal with depression. Pessimists imagine only catastrophe and therefore are afraid to really confront the darkness. Optimists, on the other hand, explore the dark, study it, seek to understand it and then find ways to let in the light.

    your commentary on, i suppose, the nature of life really struck a chord and feels very in tune with how I myself view things and create; superficially at least, you know, can't glean a persons entire worldview in one go like that and all! Still, that terrible tragady of things so beautiful that cannot ever last and all that...
    anyway, I really enjoyed the piece itself, the lace like sections having those would-be bone structures and the deep, dark hollows leading in. Makes me think I could get my fingers in under there and prod around beneath the face and maybe get a feel for what's going on through tactile exploration

  • @evangelinepoe8952
    @evangelinepoe8952 3 года назад

    Amazing editing! 🥰 I like the painting very much. What came to mind was this person is at the beginning of a friendship or relationship and wants to be more open and vulnerable. Since the face has no expression they don’t want to tell, but show more of themself, the deeper truths. As Nietzsche said, there are no beautiful surfaces without a terrible depth.

    I absolutely ❤❤❤ this. I'm not sure what this is about but it reminds me of how intricate and intertwined our thought patterns are and that regardless of who we are it reminds us of our individuality. The connectedness and of our own thought pattern is kind of like our DNA.

    This piece reminds me of the fragility of life and the balance between death and life. The lace reminds me of my grandmother’s funeral, specifically, and I love how it bleeds into the face and how the healthy face becomes a skull

    This is gorgeous. The fact that the cranium is like lace reminds me of a feeling I had a while ago. I had a really bad reaction the most recent time I smoked pot, and one of the symptoms was that it felt like a heavy cowl covered my eyes, and the rest of my head was a puff of cold smoke that was dissipating into the atmosphere.

    It's funny how what you said about your art in the beginning of the video is very similar to how I see my own art. While many might see it as me trying to be shocking or edgy it is more about trying to reflect a feeling in a visceral way. Often using a body/figure as a "tool" to reflect that feeling. Because I think we relate to the world in many ways through our bodies with sensations, feelings and thoughts. It's all contained within. It seems easy for some people to see these images at face value as just body horror. So I can relate to how you might feel misunderstood in a way.
    Something else I feel similarly to what you said is finding beauty in darkness aswell as having them coexist.

    I love the delicate nature of this piece; when I first saw it, my initial thought was the delicate and fragile nature of "being okay." How we try to dress up our failings and mortality and anxiety and such in pretty lace, a very weak defense to protect the bones of who we are. Using a smile to cover up our true feelings. I feel like this piece could have many interpretations, but that one was the one that struck me the strongest. Either way, it was very thought provoking, which is one of the reasons that I admire your art so much. I do hope your struggle passes soon

    I'm always fascinated and impressed by your work...and this piece is no exception....
    this piece, invokes a feeling of "Delicate, fragility".... and of deep conflicting emotions. And somehow, there's a feeling of "tranquility"... maybe "acceptance" of what is, even though "what is" isn't necessarily "pleasant".

    love the work! I dont think dark art should automatically be interpreted as a way to make a "negative" reaction in the viewer like shock. Someone expressing themselves might be happy and bright and others in a darker way. My art is related to horror/gloominess, but I actually feel a lot happier in it than when I tried to have a "happy" art style, it just tickles my brain better so thats why I do it that way. The most important thing is being authentic and thats why we love your art so much!

My only critique would be the part towards the beginning where you flashed different shots in different areas of the screen kind of messed with my eyes/head a bit. I see what you were trying to do there, but maybe try and leave them up for just a few seconds longer? It was hard to follow what was going on in that part.
