Vladimir, thanks for this tutorial. I am just learning Alias so this is quite an advanced stage for me to comprehend. Would it be possible to put down the steps in text on another page?

What is the purpose of snapping the CVs of the middle row of the arch surface to the curve's CVs.
And why the upper edge of the arch surface is only G0 with the body surface but still looks like the are G2? Does the middle row CVs' snapping operation help to creat a better continuity even you only align for G0?

      @@VladimirPanchenkoVV Thanks for your reply.
The snapping obviously helped to build a better layout of the CVs and thus better continuity.
But I am not quite clear of the reason behind it. Each time you increase the degree of the arch surface, you do the snapping again.
It seems to be a very cool trick I've never used. Could you please explain for us with more words. Really appreciate it!

Try it by your self, using curves with curvature comb turned on, you will see how exactly continuity is changing

@@VladimirPanchenkoVV I got it. The 1 degree projection surface is used to define the tangent direction of the arch surface from the wheel edge and also create an intersection with the body surface. the final arch surface could be seen as a blending surface of the 1 degree surface and the body surface. And the snapping operation of the middle row of CVs are actually the 2nd or 3rd row of CVs (tangent or cirvutual CVs) of the two edges. By snapping to the intersection, the blending surface's two edges can both follow the directions of the two surfaces which are supposed to be blended. So a better continuity is achieved. I hope who are also watching this tutorial can get a better understanding from this.

Как-то странно эта арка шейдит, разве так и должно быть?

Чем эти пируэты лучше обычного оффсета на боковину с последующим блендом? На выходе топология ближних к корме патчей имхо очень спорна

    • @VladimirPanchenkoVV
