2:25 General Tip for ALL players, not just Sombra: Attention is a Resource. Your job as a Flanker is to exhaust and strain the enemy's attention so your team can create openings. It is not ALWAYS your job to get picks. It's a similar principle to Widowmaker or Hanzo taking space by threatening with a one shot. Your mere presence should be forcing the enemy team to play in a sub-optimal way in order to account for the threat you present to the backline. If you engage on the enemy supports as your team is pushing in, and you force them to peel for each other, that's time that they aren't spending supporting their team, which effectively makes it a 3v4 for the enemy team during that window of time.
Indeed, very good you pointed that out. The simple threat of possibly being there is sombras greatest strength. Be always unpredictable to maintain their paranoia.
@@mohammedtv210 I started playing sombra for the first time after the rework and I’ve already climbed to diamond 2 after being hardstuck plat for 5 months. Sounds like a huge skill issue👍
This was a huge guide. Just got back into OW and ran Sombra and a lot of what you said clicked a lot of things in my head based off my experience and pointed a lot of my errors I’ve made. Good stuff
I never got into sombra until her re-work, she is so much fun now. And understanding how I need to play her and how much of a big role she can play changes a lot for me for the better
There are times when you have to Sombra 76 and times when you can flank and pick off low-health enemies or squishy. The game forces you to play a Sombra 76 with certain grouped up enemy hero’s playing very defensive.
Sombra reminds me somewhat of playing reaper. Getting behind their lines and threatening them at an off angle gets a ton of value, whether u secure a pick or not.
its a shame they don't get more attention, because I really do think they are the best Sombra main content creator in terms of success with Sombra. I try and follow their tips because their skill is pretty apparent.
i’ve been asking myself, “why am i bad at sombra, even with 130 hours on her?” and your videos are a great reference point, you have a really in-depth understanding of the game and you show me things that my poor microscopic brain would never have thought. i hope i continue to get better at her!
I'm so confused. Samito dropped a sombra tips video and there he advocates that you should initiate with hack to get max dmg out. Here, I hear that I should engage with virus. I climbed to master5 with Sombra in a day from dia4 and 9 times out of 10 I started the encounter with a virus because I feel like hack is so useless just as EMP. So the tax worked until now but I started to struggle and lost games, that's why I'm looking for tips. Thanks for the share bro
I'm listening to the engage scenarios about opening with virus and take the duel - but is this when cloaked or uncloaked? there is a bit of a delay of the ability going off from a virus since you have to decloak first instead of the hack that can be done in invis and the shooting goes off slightly faster with the smoother uncloack from hack
True, but you have to consider the value of the hack such as, “are you interrupting something inmportant?” If not, it’s better to open with virus and supplement damage with your smg.
EMP flat damage doesn't even make sense lore wise, it's a half baked idea and execution. Just make EMP a mass virus for like 125 or just make the hack from EMP 3 seconds or something with 20% max damage. Love the rework but EMP is worse than high noon now lol
@@bellsgg For certain supports, it's best to virus first and then Hack. Like on Ana. Virus her while she's unaware of you and then hack her before she can throw the grenade/sleep dart. It actually gives you more time to gun her down after.
Vod reviewing in majority third person feels awful to me idk about anyone else but I’m just saying. Not a lot of clarity and hard to tell what Sombra is even doing.
@@Questron01 I'm just talking about how the DoT is 100 over 4 seconds (thus 25 dmg/s), and you've been calling as if it does 22.5 for some reason (I imagine it used to do 90 DoT on the test you guys did? .-.)

Bold of you to assume my team is able to win a 4v2.
Honestly, my EMPs don't feel as good as they used to. That 40% to 30% dmg change made a big difference.

Can we have a guide on when to use the EMP or what can be 100% hacked and disabled? Like hacking a Bob or Junkrat's ultimate? PLEASE!
That video has been done a thousand times already. But, a video on who SHOULD be hacked is pretty useful.

Wait.
Are you saying if I hit them with virus and THEN hack it still speeds up virus??
Yes it’s based off whether the target is hacked or not, not if you hack first. I still like hacking first cause burst damage is valuable

Virus does 25 dmg/s, not 22.5
It doesn't do 100 total damage, it does 10 impact AND 100 dot.
Only the 100 damage gets sped up, the impact damage has no damage over time

not the my little pony profile pic telling me how to do what i want to do how i want to do it
