    I owned a Palisade Ultimate for four years and enjoyed the vehicle but recently checked out and purchased the Telluride X line recently because in test driving the Telluride, it felt like I had more control of the vehicle. The Palisade has soft suspension but the Telluride is firm and almost like driving a sportswear.

    Great comparison review. I’ve had my 2023 Palisade Calligraphy for almost 3 months now and love it. My kids love the heated seats in the 2nd & 3rd rows (we live in MI and use heated seats at least half of the year). The parking assist (backing up & pulling forward) is really convenient when someone parks too close. I definitely got way more options on this vehicle than others I was considering for a similar price (e.g, Buick Enclave).

Bundled with a 10 year power train warranty and 3 year no cost maintenance for the palisade. It's a winner. This is coming from an auto tech with a love for German cars that break all the time with overly complex engines.

    You brothers are on fire! Best to do the comparisons on RUclips. My only wish would've been to either get the "offroad" version of the Hyundai or non-XPro SX-P Telluride for more direct comparison.
    In 2020, I thought the Hyundai was styled too-overwrought and and wouldn't age well(although its interior embarrassed many supposed luxury brands(coughs...all of Japan), while the Telluride was the darling of the class. Boy, what a difference a refresh can make! The Hyundai's rhinoplasty simply elevated it to new heights for me(although the Calligraphy is too blingy for me, I'd go with a version with the darkened treatment)while the Telluride, losing its iconic amber DRL rings and simplified styling just seems so anonymous now, although still identifiable as a Kia.
    Interior wise, I would still give the Hyundai the edge, but Kia has seriously closed the gap. I still don't understand how the Hyundai, the luxury flagship of these two, doesn't have power-folding mirrors yet the Kia does. And I remain offended that H/K/Genesis doesn't yet allow for wireless AA/AC in 2022 on their screens larger than 8". A tremendous miss, especially against the competition. It was also strange to hear more engine noise in the Palisade over the Telluride.
    They're still a tough set of twins to beat for the $$ now, since I'm hearing that buyers are more easily able to get them.at MSRP and used models are starting to sell at a more reasonable price.

    • @ishaansaral502
      @ishaansaral502 2 года назад +1

      It looks like Hyundai prioritzed auto-dimming mirrors over power-folding ones. I think that's a good trade-off in today's market of overly bright LED headlights. Auto-folding is available on cheaper cars, but auto-dimming side mirrors are typically luxury car exclusive. Hyundai was smarter this time in where to add value. It's also cheaper which makes the Telluride the worse car from now on.
      Similarly the new Sportage, by releasing a year later, improved massively where the Tucson lacked. Both companies are so different in their design and strategy that they learn and try to compete with each other. This is great for the consumer.

    • @hellkitty1014
      @hellkitty1014 2 года назад +2

      @@ishaansaral502 I think the mirror miss just bugs me because something like a JGC has power-folding, both driver/passenger auto-dimming, and tilt-down in reverse. They've had it since 2013. The wireless Apple Carplay is even maddening though.
      But I do agree on the Telluride pricing. Although I do appreciate the interior upgrades, Kia moving away from the DRLs just seems like a mistake since it was such an eye-catching and upscale design.

    Kia looks rugged and off road. And Hyundai looks upscale and luxury. Either way, both look very beautiful. I love the way the Hyundai Palisade looks exterior and interior. But that Kia Telluride is gorgeous too. If I had to pick I'd actually have a hard time trying to pick of the two. The palisade is more unique of a styling on the outside and is very nice but it's too much Chrome. The telluride looks a lot like the range Rover. So it's trying to copycat which I don't really like but it is more of my type of look. Both are very nice. I would actually have a hard time picking just because they're both beautiful crossovers.

    Why compare the X-Pro (Prestige) to the Calligraphy? IMO apples to apples would be SX Prestige without X-Pro. What are your thoughts on the new (silver) front bumper on the new Telluride? From the wrong angle it looks like an underbite lol. Have a 23 on order and still an upgrade due to interior and tech bits so I am going to stick with it, but... Back to the comparison no comment on the dual screens of the Palisade. Even while the same real estate, the Telluride is so much better executed. Massaging seat is nice add for the Palisade though and I do think the rotary shifter is a win for the added room and storage (thank god that added paddle though, very helpful for grade shifting vs +- on my Expedition) + the gear shifter on the Telluride is not quite right. I started with a 2019 Palisade and recently upgraded to the 23. Its not just that I like the styling of the Hyundai, I love the fact it has its own personality, and not that of a range rover. More than ANYTHING, both are made up from Hyundai. Mostly everything about a Kia comes from Hyundai, the steel frame, the engine, the transmission, the designer that Hyundai paid big money stealing away from Audi, the performance tuner who Hyundai stole away from BMW. So why would I want to buy a Hyundai that doesn't have Hyundai's name?

    Mark-up over MSRP on Kia is ridiculous. I am going with the Palisade. If you go for the upper end model of each then you will get a better deal with the Hyundai. You get more for your money at the lower end models by going with the Kia. But if you want all the cool options without the insane mark-up I'd take the Hyundai. Palisade has a more comfortable and beautiful interior. While I prefer the the way exterior on the Telluride I intend on spending more time driving the car then looking at it from the outside, so again Hyundai wins.

    Both are good looking vehicles with luxury interior packages; however, I have to give the nod to the Palisade b/c of the additional features like the power rear seat, auto trunk opener, smart park, exterior front grill, 20” tires, rear seat heating, electronic gear shift, and the apparent next level luxury feel which is going to rival Lexus (which I have now, but looking for new suv), BMW, Mercedes, and almost Range Rover status. Now, the Hyundai brand may never equal Mercedes, BMW, and Range Rover; but those vehicles are about a 1.5X-2X cost. Either way, a Telluride or Palisade is a nice car. Oh, when will their EV versions come out ? Just curious

    I have a couple of reasons I don't like the Kia telluride.
    1. There has been evidence that supports claims that they catch fire for the wiring harness connected to the tow hitch. Unless you want the possibility of your Kia telluride to go up in flames .
    2. A lot of Kia telluride owners complain about the headlights not bringing bright enough especially the factory LEDs. That's why my 2016 Nissan Sentra had the halogens replaced with aftermarket LED. Disclaimer.. make sure you check before doing this so it's not void your warranty.
    3. Yeah it has one of the best warranties out there. However pay attention to the word limited. What that means is that just because it's a bumper to bumper or powertrain warranty doesn't mean it covers everything only limited items. Unlike my Nissan brand which is unlimited.
    4. Lack of Anti-Theft technology. You can have the fanciest, flashiest, and high technology car you want. However it means nothing if it gets stolen. My 2016 Nissan Sentra came standard with intelligent key, immobilization system, locking steering wheel, and push button start. With the Kia telluride you only get push button on the higher trims.
    5. Kia is the child of Hyundai. Kia and Hyundai engines are known to have transmission problems within the first 50,000 miles.

I cant put weather sensitive items on my truck bed during summer, then if I am buying an SUV, at least be AWD, but the price is out of my budget, so I considering the kia carnival sx prestige as my summer get away vehicle. I haven't decided yet, now it is between carnival or FWD calligraphy which van is a tad bit lower on price, but I really like the palisade massage chair and features. or i'll just wait next year and buy a used 2023 calligraphy

    Also I love how you show all of the light patterns like the blinkers and reverse lights.

    can someone tell/share the real life Miles Per Gallon of Palisade and Telluride? When the manufacturer says 19, I suspect you have to take at least 15% off from the paper number. My 2022 Lexus RX350 says 20 MPG on paper, the real life MPG in city is about 15, I am not crazy driving at all. Searched on Internet, the number varies hugely, some people said they got about 44MPG (90% highway, 10% city), some said they got 12-17MPG in the city. I am more concerned on the in city MPG.

      I know I'm a little late to this conversation, but the Limited has most of the major stuff that's on the Calligraphy, but with the black grille. I was planning to get a Limited, but liked that big old chrome grille on the Calligraphy. I got the same color as the one in this video, Typhoon Silver. I guess I'm old school because those wheels, that grille and the full length brake light on the back got me. I didn't need a vehicle that could park in tight spaces by itself, though. I'll walk to the back of the parking lot for a big "non-door dinging" space first. I guess moving it back and forth with the remote will be entertainment for my friends. Every model except the Calligraphy has a black grille in 2023.

      There's alot of good from all 3 of those vehicles.
      The ascent has a really sharp look and the safety features of a Subaru make it a very good car for the family if you live somewhere that has bad weather or terrain. The eyesight is the biggest plus to it. Here is a quick look at one that spells out the benefits
      ruclips.net/video/RprGgGOOvXE/видео.html
      The Telluride versus the Pallisade is really where I think the battle for the best SUV is. Both have alot of great features, but nothing feels as great as the styling of the Telluride.
