The high school stuff is a bit off. I went to the same high school and had the same guidance counselor my junior year. The problem was that her family bought him a car, which crossed a line, because obviously she couldn’t do that for every other student. Also Derrius wasn’t bullied for football. Dude was untouchable on campus. He was the best football player we had since Warrick Dunn. If anything, he was problematic because the school always catered to him. He did things that would have gotten other students suspended/expelled, but the administration would look the other way

Is it not possible he was bullied at some point before becoming king of your school? It's hard to know what a classmate or teammates is going through in highschool since everyone is dramatic as hell

Being blessed to be in a position to make it out the hood, go to college on a scholarship and receive a career opportunity that pays you millions of dollars, doesn't wipe away a traumatic child hood lived without a father who was murdered when you were 6 and you were old enough to remember the last conversation you ever had with him.
