He wasn't that high up yet, and since the helicopter decepticon didn't seem to care that he fell out, we can assume he wasn't watching that closely. Imagine he shows up with the car to Megatron, and Sam just isn't there because he didn't see him fall out. 🤣
personally, I disagree....These are decepticons we speak of, and a large part of me feels that if the other two showed up without Sam, Megatron would kill them for having no use to him and/or wasting his time. But then again, as that scenario didn't appear in the movie, I can't speak factually, only theoretical.
Knowing Megatron if Sam did drop out of the car Megs would probably use Mikaela and Leo as hostages forcing Sam to give himself up for there safety and Megs would probably severely injure one of them just to make a point about how serious he is but he would beat the shit out of Grindor and Starsceam for failing to get Sam

I just love this scene, you can see all megatron parts and pieces move, even when the Dr shoves that thing into Sam’s mouth when they do the wide screen you can see Megatron move one of his feet up more to have more weight against Sam. True it is a scary scene but it is well made by the film crew, and you can tell megatron how cruel he is to someone who killed him once.
Two things I find odd about this. 1) None of the Autobots even seem surprised that Megatron was back. 2) If the knowledge of the AllSpark was in Sam's mind, how is it we never use this again in later films? The Autobots could have used the knowledge to save Cybertron.
There was an explanation for this, but it didn't fit into the film itself, but was presented in the novelization. Essentially, the matrix absorbed Sam's allspark data and power when he used it to revive Optimus.

Honestly, as lackluster this movie is, those reactions and screams from the roof of the car getting stabbed with a hook, getting picked up from the sky, dropped into a building then being sawed in half is actually really accurate. Props to the actors for conveying realistic fear Also, the rescue scene is one of the best entrances Optimus ever made
This was a great scene. Decepticons acting all nice and having hard time not killing the humans out of anger. And then Optimus and Bumblebee come in for the save. Bumblebee can be seen being extra hostile.
I remember watching this in theatres after finishing 4th grade and how big Sam and the others looked compared to me at the time! Now I’ve graduated from college, they look younger from how I remember seeing them years ago! It’s crazy! I can’t believe how many years have gone by already! Time is flying! I don't know why, but the sounds for Starscream at 0:54-1:03 are just so pleasant to hear. The sound design for these films is underrated in my opinion.

Alternate version: Starscream cuts them out of the car, the three get out Megatron calls over Mikaela, she compiles, once she is close Megatron hits her off the staircase, she screams as she falls, she lands hard on a concrete slab, she groans in pain, Megatron stomps down beside her, Mikaela tries to get up but is pushed back down, Megatron's hand with twizzers on his finger tips grabs onto her wrists, she yells in pain, Mikaela tries to escape but can't, Megatron talks to her, she fells something on her stomach and sees a spider like Decepticon, the doctor tries to check her face but Mikaela keeps moving her head side to side, the doctor swipes at her face, she stops and the doctor checks her nose, he snaps his fingers, Mikaela watches as a worm like thing with green goo was dropped on her stomach, she is scared as the worm crawls towards her and reveals its tentacles, then the doctor grabs her lips and holds them open, she panics as she fells the worm slither into her mouth, she tries to spit it out but her mouth is closed shut because of the green goo, she feels the worm crawl through her mouth and go into her nose, she sees it's tentacles coming out of her nose, her eyes roll into the back of her head as the worm touches her brain, the worm comes shooting out of her mouth and into the doctors chest, she sees her memories being projected on the wall along with the symbols she has been seeing, the doctor throws the worm away and talks about cutting her brain out, Mikaela panics and pleads with Megatron to not kill her, the doctor activates his saw but before it could touch her forehead she is saved by Optimus.
