I realise your comment was 4 years ago, but I've just seen Young Father's play Toy live at the Green Man festival in Wales (UK) 2 weeks ago. I'm obsessed with them since! Their show went off!! I loved the way too that they delayed the drop at the end of the track by about 40 seconds... Goosebumps!
I've never seen anyone play the drums in such a sensuous way.

9:10 In the early 2000`s I lived in a small Ukrainian town, where we didn't have big (or good) record stores. We just had tiny shops with audio cassets showcased on the wall behind the shop assistant. And we didn't have any source of knowledge about new music, like magazines or websites. So to buy a good music one had to ask shop assistant for help or just try one by one, which was hardly possiible since it was only one record player to use and there was usually a line of other buyers behind. It forced me to develope an intuitive method of picking cassets to buy: I looked at the covers and tried to imagine what would music be like. I remember when I saw a cassette with some black contrasty insect on white backround and right away figured out the music is going to be awesome. I asked the shop assistant to play the cassete just for a few seconds of the first track. It was Massive Attack's "Angel", and it was love from the first note.

This was fucking phenomenal. One of the best performances I've seen on KEXP so far. Heard you guys for the first time on Voodoo in My Blood with Massive Attack and really digged it, but now I'm sold. Can't wait to jump into your discography, much love

@@vicgermain4179 Probably the only band I know of where their live stuff is superior to the studio! The energy when they play live just can't be replicated in the studio :)
As a person with next to no understanding of electronic music if anyone can explain how 4 men with a couple of drums and some kit can create such a glorious cacophony that would be actually really helpful for my career as a theatre director who works with musicians
I can't speak for them, but I found having limited equipment with a good imagination and ingenuity works. When your choices are limited, you make the best of what youv'e got. Of course each member of the group has differet talents and influences, so that is gonna all go into the whole. As far as getting the "cacophony"... I think its layering, harmonys, dis-cordanance and knowing how to build it up until it just GOES OFF!!!...

Incredible artists. Was lucky to see them in SF back in November. Great job on the sound KEXP. Give the sound engineer a raise. I also liked the kid’s questions and chat about the importance of the overall impact of an album.
These guys are fucking amazing. Only managed to see them once with massive attack back in 2016(?) in Dublin. Three is a crowd indeed. When these guys sing they sound like more than three!
Such wonderful noise. I feel like this is what decades of pop and rock music were leading up to.

I was so hoping you'd bring them back again and here it is, just not long after seeing them play at the the 02 Acadmey in Bristol (UK, for anyone overseas). There's a comraderie with YF fans I rarely see, and it's a sight to behold. Everyone lost it when they played "Toy" and "Get Up". The whole room was just a tidal wave of electrified, stimulated bodies. Barely a dry eye in the house when they finished playing "In My View" too. The moment of that opening line "...with my belly in the water..." being sung, it really hits in the feels. Every song I wanted to hear from them (bar "Nest" sadly), they played. Loved all of it. It's really unlike anything else. Even the way they perform and work the stage is so uniquely them.
One of the greatest live acts I've ever seen. So glad I got to book them for a show in Barcelona back in 2014.

It's so amazing to see the whole process of making these songs live! I mean it's even more interesting when you see who sings what and what instruments are used! it's chaotic but in a very good way!
