The world of 3D is really progressing forward - I like Element 3D and it has a ton of power and perks but this AE update allows me to not jump in Element for everything, which is nice. Speaking of Element 3D - Seems the next step for Andrew is to build Element into more of a C4D program!
Hey! Got you! I don't think AE is trying to replace a 3D software, but there are so many tasks now that you can do natively without switching back and forth all the time! I immediately think about 100s of small compositing tasks. Just adding one element and being able to change its perspective is so powerful!!
Hi,@@flo.motion thx for the reply. I've tried it with obj. Now I make the workaround via glb where it's working fine. But with obj I have always the problem with the textures...
Please help me, I just updated the beta version of After, but some functions are not appearing, such as the "Advanced 3D" option or the light invoronment function. What do I have to do to release these functions?
@@flo.motion Thanks! USD support is still in its infancy, but it looks like they are taking it seriously. There's a bunch of videos on RUclips that go over USD support in DaVinci Resolve 18.5 and 18.6.
I’ve been working with gtlb files exported from substance stager with materials applied. I’m finding the clear plastic/glass won’t render properly in after effects beta. Is anyone else having this issue? Also can’t seem to import obj files consistently.
All of these 3D updates are still stuck in the 90's and the fact that Element 3D has probably been out for almost 10 years now really makes all of this embarrassing for Adobe. The fact that a third party developer can create features in their own software better than Adobe themselves... and a decade earlier is just plain sad.
At 5.20, when you rotate the letters. Seems like the camera response time is pretty bad. If it really behaves like that it might be hard to work like that. But perhaps its something else.
@@lukafilm I am not exactly sure and I felt it too. But it could be due to Camera Lens Blur effect in that comp. But let's see if that's correct and wait for a response from @flo.motin.

This video is just perfect! Excellent work!
Thank you!!
This video is just what I needed
Perfecto!!
pretty sweet! Wonder if they'll start supporting USD
Tnx!! Think it is obj and glb at the moment as their stock library also has those formates for a long time!
Really cool to see Production create supporting Good talent 🙌🏻
Thank-you so much for this! Looking forward to your next 3d environment tutorial 😊!!
Will be out in about a week!!
Thank you! Cheers 🎉
Thanks for watching!!
nice! more 3D tutorials in the future pls!!!
Next one is already in the making!!

Haha indeed! Hope he is fine though...
Have you seen anything from ‘Andrew’ in the last 5 years? 😅
Not at all. lol. But I do hope he comes out from the shadows with something amazing. He does have the talent to make a splash though. @@mardoperero
I’ll stick to doing my 3D work in a program meant for it and comp in the work later.

Thank you!!
Hi , how can import glass material 3D model in AE
Just as you would wird any other Model... glass in AE is still tricky though...
Great thank you very much
thanks for watching!!
After Effects 24.1 (official release) now supports 3D models natively. It was released today.
yes yes yes
Awesome as always 🎉👌
Thanks a lot!!
Ah, cool diese 3D Funktionalitäten. Was ist das Problem wenn in AE die Texturen nicht angezeigt werden? Besten Dank noch...
hey! Depending on your format! What exactly are you importing into AE?

Well they learn from Element 3d
Indeed
really u r great

But you are able to import a 3D object??
Great stuff Flo !
Does the comp have to be in 32 bit for the HDRI to work correctly ?
Indeed!!
DaVinci Resolve 18.6 has a lot of new 3D features. Can you compare the two?
For sure! Didn't knew that...

Hey! That is a known issue unfortunately. Transparency is something that they are currently working on at Adobe!
Cool 😎
😘
Finally 🔥
Haha... yeah!!

Si it was hdri 🤔🤔 cool
Jeah HDRs it is!!

Better late then never?? 🤔🤔
@@flo.motion maybe some decade they'll get proper multithreading or GPU usage.
The amount of lagging when you added the HDRI was a bit worrying, no?
Lagging? What do you mean??

hmmm but none of them are compositing softwares??
@@flo.motion Fusion is included in Resolve.
Adding bunch of 3D features in a 2.5D software is just pure comedy.
Why is that??
