If I were technologically up to the task, I would splice the part you're talking about into one of those old Bud commercials where a bunch of guys say Waaassssssuuuup? or Wasaaaaaaabbbbiii? But, have their screaming faces instead... could be good!
OMFG...I forgot how funny this was...laughed my ass off by watching this scene... Liam Neeson didnt lie when he said that Darkman was much fun for him... I mean come on! He has the time of his life, screaming and shouting and we are enjoying it xD *still rolls on the floor*
This scene is cathartic for those of us who have been ripped off as kids/teens by those crooked carnival freaks. Always bending the 'rules' to ensure you don't get the best prize, despite clearly winning based off the vague rules written on their stall.
I don't know, personally I wouldn't really trust someone who is mentally unstable but I also wouldn't trust a worker who looks like they don't care about their job, just saying anything to get you to leave. Like in some fast food restaurants where workers just wanna get their day over with, saying anything to get you to leave. However, since the girlfriend didn't correct him on whether he did pass the line, I'd say liam's character was telling the truth.
2:05 To quote ERod, the Blockbuster Buster: "No?! Whaddya mean *NO* woman?? He just tossed that guy like he was a salad! *Take the f#*&ing elephant* doesn't sound that demanding, considering what he could potentially do to you!"
Sam Raimi's unique staging, cutting, panning and zooming was apparent in the EVIL DEAD and later in everything he directed. It was the perfect style for a comic book movie and it is what made the original SPIDERMAN such a great film.
I might be the only one that does not like the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies. I love Sam Raimi, The Evil Dead Trilogy, Darkman and a lot of his other stuff, but not any of his Spider-Man films.
@@atwunz Is it hard for you to comprehend that I have higher standards in movies? The Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy I thought was the worst superhero franchise of all time. Deal with it.
I love how the carnie is giving off a total under-reaction to everything. And it only makes Peyton overreact even MORE. "...no way." "Why don't you just uh.....get lost, pal" lmfao
Yeah. The carnie is one of the most interesting performances by a bit character ive seen. Every other movie would have had him acting more obviously obnoxious. Its more like hes anoyed than anything.
One of the things I love most about this movie is that nobody in the editing room thought that last repetition of "A freak!" was overkill. You wonder how long the announcer is gonna sit there calling out that phrase. I like to imagine him continuing until one of the other carnies walks over and smacks him in the head to get him unstuck.
'What is it about the dark? What secret does it hold?' Not many people could deliver a line like that without it sounding cheesy. Neeson nails it. Great movie!
This is the prequel to "Taken." What we don't know was that the guy running the game booth arranged for Liam Neeson's daughter to be kidnapped as revenge for his stolen elephant.
This scene gave me the biggest sense of dread of anything in this film. Once it starts with all the bright light and colours and their light-hearted banter you are immediately on edge about how it's all going to go wrong. And the way it does is amazing!
This was Raimi's first superhero film. He was testing his feet in the water to see if it was the right fit for him, and it was. Lots of the camerawork, editing and tropes in this film would later be seen in the Spiderman films he directed.
For the US cable TV version they remove "take the f*cking elephant" and replaced it with "take the fuzzy elephant". Our friends and I would look at each other and say "take the fuzzy elephant!" often. Heh.
"but i was behind the line, I was..haha..standing right here with my girlfriend.....*stern look*...NOW, the pink elephant....IF you please" jesus, I don't know what it is about Liam Neeson. But he just bleeds and sweats intimidation. Like it comes natural. Can't believe I(and so many people)had to see Taken to realize that....
Rami is a fu@3in' genius. The directing is top notch. The sound the ball makes when it's whizzing through the air is phenomenal. Seriously, this is some of the best editing, directing, sound design of all time. It's hilarious as well.
There's this really cute moment where, even before Peyton loses it and snaps, Julie is clearly concerned about Peyton's mental state despite him hitting all three bottles.
You do realize that its almost impossible to actually win this game right? The bottles are weighted or something where they don't fall over even if hit by the baseball. So Peyton is putting some real force into this - partly because his adrenal gland is all whacked up. Which is also a big part of his unstoppable rage moments. So yes, it is an indication that something is up with him.
Mikael Jansson I think he also said in an interview its his favorite role he has ever done..because how much freedom he had in his character and all the screaming he got to do
I love when the camera pans between them as they scream -- one in pain, one in rage, and one in shock.
If I were technologically up to the task, I would splice the part you're talking about into one of those old Bud commercials where a bunch of guys say Waaassssssuuuup? or Wasaaaaaaabbbbiii? But, have their screaming faces instead... could be good!

as a carnie i am so offended
What I love about this scene is that they leave the question whether or not Liam was behind the line or not unanswered
i think he steped forwerd on the last throw as his emoctions were raised when he said freak
He definitely crossed A line.
No, he said he was behind it, so there you go.
@@Embrachu The only line he crossed was the metaphorical line of excitement and anger.
