I used a wall mounted kitchen roll holder for my film, works great

I like to use gray primer on my interiors or if it's a military aircraft drab olive, the black is going to look excellent though, it leaves something to the imagination, like what could be in there? Mark is pretty hardcore about this laminating film I'll have to give it a try Sometime. I usually use tissue paper or sometimes regular paper, I've even used glossy card paper, it makes for a super smooth wing surface, although there is a weight penalty there. Interestingly the card paper seems to work best on the smaller models, that makes me wonder about Reynolds number. I speculate it might have something to do with air penetration and wing loading. Thanks for the video Mark.

Great job as usual. Interesting to hear your iron temp for tacking, 115C?. I have been tacking and shrinking at 190C but happy to learn. I have the Prolux iron with temp readout. Just got an IR temp gun, iron is roughly 10C higher than set value.

I havent built a tissue covered model for decades. Why use film under the tissue? Doesnt it add lots of weight?

The film is very light, so makes very little difference to the weight, but it does add a huge amount of strength and resilience to the covering, while still retaining a lovely vintage look 😀

I'm currently building the dancing wings 580mm mini stick, I've covered the tail section with film but it's stuck to the film on the underside of the wing, would a hotter iron melt the glue enough to separate the two pieces without damaging the film or am I best starting again?

Honestly, I have no idea, sorry, you will have to try it out on a bit of scrap and see how it works 😜

Hi there, thanks for the comment, the film I used was 38/42micron 320mm x150m, hope that helps

What’s the name again of the laminating film? Thanks.

It is just that, Laminating Film, and its 38 micron thick. Its made for document laminating machines. Here is a ling to what I used - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183793543303?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=FDdqUo8qRCC&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=fsKLYgcjQ86&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
