This is just great, brings back so many nice memories watching Dads Army with my late father. I never knew that the cast done any radio shows, these are just as good as the TV episodes, I actually laugh out loud with some of the gags. It's brilliant to have the whole cast the same as the TV ones, impeccable timing and all great actors. Wendy Richards and even Pat Coombs...are in some...top top entertainment
She was an invisible character in Dad's Army... perhaps they did know someone like her, a strong minded, mature woman who had certain phobias and anxieties?
@@Firepoet1 as a kid at school we looked forward to seeing Mrs Mainwarring but she never appeared only heard about, not even in the show in their house, we only heard her coming I think down the stairs expecting to at last see her but the air raid siren got her running off to the shelter, don't know why they never had someone play her.
@@Firepoet1 she wasn't meant to be a real character, I have the whole boxed set ( except the film-; not the remake) and she didn't appear in any of the TV episodes.
I can imagine they were probably not equipped to the "battlefield standard". They paint the real dads army as having to use "their ingenuity" in place of proper kit... (or: perhaps im getting truth mixed with the fiction of Dads Army!?). Glad to see people are getting in the Xmas spirit with some Dads Army 😊🎅 Merry Xmas ...JoE...

Why was Captain M so frightened of Mrs M - he sounded like a frightened mouse when she rang him - did the writers know someone like her?

She was an abuser... don't forget she hit Mr Mainwaring, punched him in the eye...
@@susansherlock6934 I thought Captain Mainwaring’s black eye was caused by him bumping into the door of the linen cupboard.
Why wasn’t Godfrey medical bag checked regularly as he has hardly any medication - was this state of affairs normal? Totally useless - no bandages etc
