Here is our 3-player playthrough of Pandemic: Rising Tide! Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy! "Music from Epidemic Sound (www.epidemicsou...)"
Looking at the IJssel river from my window right now. Thank goodness you saved me from flooding! (well, in the real world the river has been too low for the season for months now, but you know) I've played it now, and it helps for me knowing where each region is, and how to pronounce it (I don't have to say "that region"). Plus the actual waterworks that this game is based on. Like, they call all of them hydraulic structures, but in reality those are very big projects that often do involve hydraulic structures, but are way more than just that. :) The ruimte voor de rivier (room for the river) involved making another valley, essentially creating an island in the river Waal to allow the water to flow around it on both sides instead of being forced to flow through a bottle neck spot, as well as moving dikes all over the country so that the river has more room to spread out in times of high water, and digging lakes for overspill etc etc. :)
One of the best gameplay video of a board game I have ever seen. Really nicely explained, fantastic editing and sound effects! I have just ordered a copy (I am a huge Pandemic fan).
I just bought the game. I still have to get some of my buddies around to save our land. I already asked my brother to bring his rubberboots and lots of buckets.
Your characters choices defo helped you with this win for sure they were such a strong group. Loved the play through might have to go watch the other pandemic games.
Great playthrough. Thanks. I think the boarders between regions would have been more easy to see if they didn't have the rivers (at least I think it is rivers) so distinct drawn on the map. I love playthroughs that point out misstakes, but I think I also notice a misstanke: 34:50 Looks like you forget to put a water-token on ”RIJN EN IJ-something”, the yellow down to the right. Because of the two water cubes from IJSSELDELTA. I have never played this, so I might be wrong.
My copy of this game should be on the way to me shortly. Really looking forward to giving it a try! I loved the Iberia iteration of Pandemic and hope this one measures up.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing! The flow mechanic definitely reminded me of Red November. I really like the strategy around using pumps in this game. However I do kind of wish they would drop Pandemic in the title in this spin off games due to a thematic break, but understand the marketing significance.
Thanks for watching Steve! Yeah I get what you are saying about the name, but to me it is just a spin-off on the Pandemic Mechanic. Five cards to cure, or create, infection deck, 4 player actions etc. etc. So to me it makes sense it has "Pandemic" in the name. Hope that makes sense!
It was risky to draw play the event card and get the 3rd and 4th green cards to hopefully draw the 5th. You could have waited until you drew the 3rd, then played the event card to get 4th and 5th ones. It worked either way, but could've been slightly less risky. Thanks for showing the water flow. Seeing the gameplay was much easier to understand than reading the rule book.
Yeah it was risky except Timothee had 7 cards in hand already, so getting the 2 green out of his hand allowed him to keep both yelow and purple which ended up helping in the long run. Yeah how the water works is the coolest part of the game, but it is also the most confusing. Thanks for watching!
24:40 Monica mentions about removing a water cube from zeeuws-vlaanderen but then it would just come back. Why couldn’t she remove the Zuid-beveland cube that’s in the same region as the pump? That wouldn’t cause the water to flow in my estimation. Edit Dutch spelling!
So a little clarification on the water pump phase. When it says you place water cubes until there are at least 1, or 2, or 3 (depending on where you are flowing from) you don't go more than that. Like if you are flowing from a region that has 2 into a region that has 1 already, why aren't you putting the 2nd one in. In the directions, it says flow until they have AT LEAST 1 water cube, and not flow until there is ONLY one water cube. My thought would be that since it says at least that you would put them in every time until there are 3 in there, at which point it cause a chain reaction flood. Is that not correct?
I am sorry I am not really sure what you are asking. In general if I remember correctly it is the water flows phase and you just need to make sure that adjacent locations have at least 1less water cube than the other location. So for example if a location has 2 water cubes and an adjacent location has 0, you would place 1 there. Hope that makes sense!
Yes, but it says that you put water cubes in it, until there is at least a certain number. So in your scenario if one location has 2 and one location has 1 you could put more in there because there is still at least 1. I guess I'm just confused if you ONLY put 1 in there or you are supposed to put MORE than 1 in there up until 3.
Yeah, understandable. Just a little confusing with the "at least" words in there if you are just supposed to put that number or if you are supposed to put more in there. Thanks for your interpretation of the game.

That is so awesome!!
One of the best playthroughs ever. It is actually watchable!
I'll take that as a compliment!
Great job of showing the game and explaining all the actions & consequences

Thank you, appreciate the feedback! Glad you ordered it, and enjoy!! Good luck!
Thanks for saving my land. I am still standing here in my rubberboots taking out the water that flooded in my home. But hey, you did it. Well done!
HAHAH We did what we could! Curious as you live in this area, do you like the game?
I just bought the game. I still have to get some of my buddies around to save our land. I already asked my brother to bring his rubberboots and lots of buckets.
Hope you and your bro enjoy your plays of the game!! :)
Thanks for this! I was having a hard time figuring out all the rules and this really helped.
Glad it helped Mellina and thanks for watching!
Your characters choices defo helped you with this win for sure they were such a strong group. Loved the play through might have to go watch the other pandemic games.
Thanks for watching! The group was solid and we only played with 6 storms so that helped.
Great playthrough. Thanks.

Ib think you are right thanks! Appreciate you watching!
Those waterdroplets on the board actually looks really good
Totally!
My copy of this game should be on the way to me shortly. Really looking forward to giving it a try! I loved the Iberia iteration of Pandemic and hope this one measures up.
I haveo nly played this one 4 times, but I will say right now I like this better than Iberia!! It is fresh!! Enjoy your copy!
Good to know! Thanks for the input.

Thank you so much Marcus!

As a Dutch person, this video was worth it for your guys pronunciation of the Dutch region-names alone 😂
Hahaha!! So sorry about that!!
28:15 explains why! Pumps need water in their region to work
Exactly!! Glad that makes sense!! Thanks for watching!
To use a pump...does there need to be water in the same region with the pump?
So a little clarification on the water pump phase. When it says you place water cubes until there are at least 1, or 2, or 3 (depending on where you are flowing from) you don't go more than that. Ahh at least means that if an adjacent location has more cubes you don't place another there as the water is higher in that location. Does that help?
I like this game so much i was born in zeeuws vlaanderen terneuzen.
What may make these names a little easier to parse is that Dutch '"ij" is just another way to write "y".
Have you tried the advanced variant?
Sorry not yet! Too many games not enough time!
Well done.
Thanks!
