    good stuff buddy! this is my favorite base game of pandemic...I'm proud of them for making both this and pandemic cthulhu feel different from the original!

      This is my favorite too! I actually got Cuthulu even though I don't care much for that genre of hand just to see how different the Game is! Thanks for watching!

    I was wondering whether this is worth getting even though I have regular Pandemic and the expansions. Your videos definitely convinced me! There are some interesting new concepts and the art is gorgeous! Thanks!

    You kept forgetting to remove all patient tokens on the city where you built the hospital. That applied because you are playing the "Influx Patient Challenge" variant.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 лет назад

      Hmm Bruno I am not sure that is correct. I think the difficulty in adding this variant is that the patients keep "piling up" at the hospital right? And so you keep on going back to it to clear it out, lest it outbreaks. Do you have a page number in the rules where it says differently? Thank you!

    It is really different from the other pandemic. The hospital mechanic seems tough, it takes almost half of your action each turn to clear the cube.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 лет назад

      Yeah, only being allowed to treat one cube even after researching the disease does up the difficulty of the game, but for me that is the reason I enjoy it!

    Is it different enough for you to warrant a purchase for someone who owns Pandemic and Pandemic Legacy already?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 лет назад

      GREAT question. . . . For me, it was as I like the gameplay and the ancient times theme. The game plays out so much differently when you can't fly to locations, no Medic (although there is a doctor) and instead have to use purification tokens and railways. But you have to like Pandemic enough to warrant the purchase! Good luck making that decision :)

    I was looking at Pandemic (the original one, not the Iberia one) on Amazon and looking through the reviews. Most everybody liked it, but one of them piqued my interest: He said that the Forbidden Island/Desert games were much like Pandemic, (with obviously different themes) but that they had improved on certain mechanisms. Do you agree/disagree with this comparison? Would you recommend one over another if the themes are equally valid for me?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 лет назад

      Here would be my order of recommendation: Pandemic, Forbidden Desert, Forbidden Island. Think of Forbidden Island as the easy version of Pandemic. Great for kids, but not enough meat in it if you ask me. Forbidden Desert is actually quite good, but it still does not hold a candle to Pandemic. That is just my opinion of course!

    • @LucasGentry
      @LucasGentry 7 лет назад

      Well, after that advice, last night, I bought Forbidden Island. My wife and I are taking classes to learn how to be foster parents, so there may be children in our house soon (and whenever we visit my brother, I'll want to bring something to play with his boys). If my wife and I like that one enough, we'll go up the ladder and get one of those other two. Thanks again for the advice!

      Another "Pandemic". Tom Vasal described Defenders of the Realm as Fantasy Pandemic. Have you ever played that one? I'm a big fan of fantasy theming, but I didn't know if you had an opinion on the mechanics.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 лет назад

      yeah I did not like that one at all. paul darcy has a good playthrough of that one if you are interested!

      Well, my wife and I have been playing Forbidden Island at work at lunch time (we work at the same place) and at home earlier today. We've really been enjoying it a lot! Thanks again for your recommendations!

  • @LucasGentry

    So none of my friends own pandemic, so I've got basically no chance of borrowing, so... I know you said you really like this, but if you were going to recommend one version of Pandemic, which one would you choose?

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 лет назад +1

      I missed this comment sorry Lucas! Hmm hard choice, the thing about regular pandemic is there are expansions like In The Lab which I REALLY like. So I think overall I would still pick regular Pandemic because of this!

      Everything fits sleeved no problem in the box! I do just take out the insert which helps it all fit. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    Hmm, this version of the game looks really fun, I'm not a gamer, but I am a big fan of Pandemic and am looking to branch out. I get the sense that maybe this version is a little too easy? You were already playing with 2 disease cards, plus the moving patients variety. And you did make some obvious mistakes (not building hospitals earlier, not removing cubes when he built the hospital, forgetting the politician can transfer cards remotely). How would you guys rate the survival series? On the whole Rising Tide looks more difficult (once you add the varied objectives and more storm cards)

    Rough outbreaks back so soon after one another.
    Super close from great purification token usage. I won my first game 4p, then lost twice 2p because we prioritized researching over purifying.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 лет назад

      Yeah I had good purification usage until I ran out of them in Red and didn't get there in time to put more down. . . . I do feel like this one is easier with 4 people vs. 2 as you can cover more of the board that way. Just love this game! Thanks for watching!

    • @davidko9289
      @davidko9289 7 лет назад +1

      It definitely makes it easier to cover the board. 2p gives each player more turns before the player deck runs out, but the hospital movement each turn makes board coverage more important, I think.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  7 лет назад

      Agreed, without the move patient mechanic my guess is two player might actually be easier. but having to spend so many actions just to go back to the hospital with 2 player makes the game more difficult. I am torn on if I will continue to use the move patient mechanic or not. What do you think? Do you like that mechanic? What about the purification tokens? Just curious!

    great lets play but you can't play a event card at the draw phase it s important so you can't use a event card to not discard if you have to many cards.

      @@OneStopCoopShop you also can't play a event card during the infection step. you can however play it before the infection step but not if its in process so lets say the first infection drawn is miami(standard pandemic game) you can't use a event after it.
      there are 2 situations events are not be played:
      during draw phase and infection step.
      note infection step is the moment you start to draw from infection deck so you can use events after a epidemic is resolved
