    Is it two years back from when you file for Medicare?
    Example: You retire from your six-figure job and live off your savings/investments for 3 years prior to your 65th birthday then the computation would be based on your reduced income...correct?

    How much does Medicare pay the insurance companies that run part c plans?

    • @MedicareonVideo
      @MedicareonVideo  11 месяцев назад

      Medicare pays insurance companies that run Part C plans a fixed amount per enrollee each month. This payment is known as a "capitation rate" and is determined based on factors such as the health status of the enrollee and the geographic location. The insurance companies are responsible for providing all the benefits covered under Medicare Part A and Part B, and they may also offer additional benefits and services. The specific amount Medicare pays to insurance companies can vary depending on various factors, so it's best to consult with a Medicare expert or visit the official Medicare website for the most up-to-date and accurate information.

      Sorry - that was a response generated by AI. Medicare pays Advantage plans $1,000-$1,200 a month per person to take them off original Medicare. The amount is more than what it costs Medicare to keep them... go figure.

      Hi there! It's great to hear that you're interested in learning more about your Medicare options. As a healthy individual, it is definitely possible to stick with Medicare Parts A and B for now and then enroll in a Medicare Supplement Plan like G or N later when you feel it's necessary. Just keep in mind that the best plan for you will depend on your specific healthcare needs and financial situation. Considering your future plans, it's important to weigh the benefits of continuing to work until retirement against the benefits of transitioning to Medicare. It may be helpful to speak with a Medicare advisor to weigh all your options and make the best decision for your unique circumstances. Hope that helps!

    How does all this work with the state of Minnesota. I know it's different but how.

    • @MedicareonVideo
      @MedicareonVideo  11 месяцев назад

      In Minnesota, Medicare works slightly differently compared to other states. They have a unique program called Minnesota Senior Health Options (MSHO), which integrates Medicare and Medicaid benefits into one plan. MSHO provides comprehensive healthcare coverage, including medical, prescription drug, and long-term care services.
      To understand the specifics of how Medicare works in Minnesota and the options available to you, it would be best to consult with a knowledgeable Medicare advisor or reach out to the Minnesota Department of Human Services. They can provide you with accurate and up-to-date information tailored to your specific situation.

    I've had a Medigap plan F to supplement my regular Part A and B coverage for a couple of years now. Can I change carriers during this enrollment period? If I find a carrier whose plan F premium is less than what I am paying now can I switch to it without hassle or can I get declined because of pre-existing conditions?

    • @MedicareonVideo
      @MedicareonVideo  11 месяцев назад +1

      Reply to the comment:
      Hi there! Thank you for your question. During the Medicare enrollment period, you have the opportunity to switch carriers for your Medigap plan F. You can indeed switch to a carrier with a lower premium if you find one. However, it's important to note that pre-existing conditions should not result in denial of coverage when switching carriers for Medigap plans. Medigap plans are guaranteed issue for those who enroll during their initial enrollment period or qualify for a special enrollment period. Feel free to reach out if you have any more questions. Hope this helps!

    Supplements are a good answer but what happens if a person can't afford the premiums along with purchasing a stand alone drug plan.Most common folks can't afford the extra monthly costs

    • @MedicareonVideo
      @MedicareonVideo  11 месяцев назад

      Reply:
      Hi there! Thanks for your comment. You bring up a valid concern. Affordability is a major factor when it comes to choosing Medicare plans. If someone is unable to afford the premiums for both Medicare supplements and a stand-alone drug plan, there are a few options to consider.
      First, it's important to explore all available resources to help lower costs. This can include looking into programs like Extra Help, which provides assistance with prescription drug costs. Additionally, some states offer their own programs to help reduce Medicare expenses.
      Another option is to carefully review and compare different Medicare plans to find ones that are more budget-friendly. Medicare Advantage plans, for example, can provide comprehensive coverage at a potentially lower cost than original Medicare and a supplement. These plans often include prescription drug coverage as well.
      It may also be worth reaching out to a Medicare counselor or agent who can provide personalized guidance based on individual circumstances. They can assess your specific financial situation and help explore options that align with your budget.
      Remember, understanding Medicare and its options can be complex, but there are resources available to help navigate these decisions. Don't hesitate to seek assistance to ensure you can make the best Medicare choices for your specific needs.

      Hi there! To get your monthly premiums adjusted to a lower tier due to a decrease in income, you can contact your local Social Security office or visit the official Medicare website for assistance. They will guide you through the process and provide you with all the necessary information and forms to submit for a potential adjustment. Make sure to have your income documentation ready when reaching out to them. Hope this helps!

      Hi [User],
      Thanks for your comment! It's great to see that you're considering your options and exploring different plans. Medicare Advantage is a popular choice, but it's important to fully understand the benefits and potential drawbacks before making a decision.
      GH High Deductible is definitely worth considering, especially if you prefer a plan with a higher deductible and lower monthly premium. However, it's crucial to evaluate your specific healthcare needs and compare the coverage and costs of the different plans available to ensure it aligns with what you require.
      If you have any specific questions or concerns about GH High Deductible or any other Medicare plans, we recommend reaching out to a licensed Medicare professional or contacting Medicare directly. They will be able to provide personalized advice based on your individual circumstances.
      Feel free to continue exploring our channel for more information on different Medicare plans and other useful resources. Don't forget to subscribe, share, and enable notifications to stay up to date with our latest videos. Let us know if there's anything else we can assist you with!

      They cite the Medicare Secondary Payer rules that prohibit employers from providing any incentive to encourage an employee to enroll in Medicare. In this case, it would be the employee choosing to enroll in Medicare and asking the employer to pay the premiums for the Medigap and PDP while she is still employed. Is that permitted?
