You can't beat it! Anamorphics are just stunning. What a beautiful video. Such touching shots, little man's going to love looking back on these when he's older.
Gorgeous footage Flo, sooo cinematic. Such a great pairing and lovely grade. 50mm is a great length - wide enough to be able to give context, but also feels nice and tele for the close shots. Looks tack sharp too.
beautiful shots as always florent! i'm loving the footage i've been seeing from this camera and mostly from what you've shown. glad bm got this in your hands!
Thanks for sharing the beauty...from shot choices, to understanding the lighting, the time of day, framing, many little things you do well here. Yes, the camera has great color science, the lens has its own character, the variable ND matte box gives you flexibility on depth of field, but what I see is a series of intentional choices that are the result of understanding what you are doing, and how you want to convey what you are imagining. Post production looks great and no one feels the cuts, they just flow with the music. Gear is a tool, and these are great tools...but you have the other things going on here that most do not realize. Thank you for creating more...
That shot at 2:18 is Tree of Life level beauty! Stunning work. Would love to see you shoot on the Ursa 12K with the Greyjoy and see how the image looks on S35.
@@OfTwoLands pleasure! I should have clarified 'once it is in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio' so the sides cropped. How much characteristic (distortion, 3d pop) does it lose in your opinion?

Wow. I'm actually excited for the new BMCC6K. Having worked with the BMPCC4K, I've always loved the color science of BRAW. It looks so amazing straight out of camera. This is beautiful imagery. Thanks for sharing.
Yes the colors are beautiful, and allows you to really push them in post and still look natural. I came from micro four thirds, and now also use l mount. So the only BMC that made sense to me was the 4k until this new one 😊
Hopefully this beautiful footage will put to rest of just how good this cinema camera is. It’s not a run and gun autofocus tool but a true option for real storytelling imho.
Can you say more about your views on compression settings? When would you choose to use less than 8:1 (ie 5:1 or 3:1 etc) compression? I'm seeing a lot of georgious footage at this sort of compression, and wondering in use on a real project what proportion or type of shots would need the higher quality compression rates. THanks.
Hi Flo, just wondering what your Davinci resolve process looks like? What’s the resolution of the timeline and how do you de-squeeze the footage, and what is the export resolution? Just having a-little trouble with mine! Any help is greatly appreciated! 🙏
Hey. I'm not sure why he put info, that he filmed at 4838 x 4032 resolution. Cause there is 4832 x 4032 (Anamorphic 6:5) only. So anyway. You shoot with 4832 x 4032 (Anamorphic 6:5) resolution. Then Timeline setting set to 4832 x 2240. And then, in Edit tab click on Inspector -> Transform. Unlink X and Y Zoom. And put to X Axis only your squeeze factor (in this case 1.800), Delivery settings you can leave 4832 x 2240 also. And... That's it :) P.S. You can download his samples (in the description) and try. Me personally, tried with same camera and lenses (Great Joy) with flow above, same result. Good luck

Great shots. You do get vignetting shooting open gate on the Blazar 50mm 1.8 right? Did you shoot this with 2.0x monitor and interpret back to 1.8 in post? Cheers

Definitely full size sensor gives it a more organic look no doubt... I still think that having internal ND's is also important specially if shooting solo, that is why I think the previous model is still a better choice. I was hoping the new one would have 4K 120... No idea why they keep on avoiding that. probably not to cannibalized the other pro models. Great footage as always! cheers!

All the best
Thanks for watching!!
I haven't used this cam on the gimbal but I think it would similar to using the 6K Pro. I rarely film with gimbal but each times it looks good to me :)
I would love IBIS but not something I desperately need either.
I wonder if you ever try shooting CinemaDNG on smartphone? Its exist but workflow is Huge.
I’ve never tried and yeah I bet it’d be heavy!!
@@OfTwoLands Its is indeed heavy!! around 1.2GB per 10 sec for 4K.
Working on midrange device too.

Great footage as always! cheers!
Thank you!!
And I agree, internal NDs would be great and would have made this camera an absolute beast!
Amazing footage man wow question do you shoot in film log and in resolve did you decode it using blackmagic design film gen 5
Thank you!!
I filmed in LOG ,yes, and I actually decode using Gen 4 but it is filmed in Gen 5.
I just prefer the curve of 4 and find it easier to grade.
@@OfTwoLandsgreat as always. What about your color management settings?
very nice❤
Thanks!!
