Amen to that! There will likely be some who will disagree with me on this, but these are my thoughts. Other people aren't under any obligation to agree with me. But I do hope that they at least respect my right to have them. Sadly, just because education is readily available in the West, that doesn't necessarily guarantee a "quality" education. It seems like our schools these days, are discouraging family unity and teaching the younger generation to be focused solely on themselves. This is a relatively new phenomenon, at least for me. I grew up in the South (US) and there was a certain level of respect for our elders that was instilled in us from early childhood. You don't see that nearly as much these days, where anyone over 50 is considered to be a "silly old boomer". The morals and values that we learned as kids, are now thought of as old fashioned and outdated. It's disheartening to say the least and I pray every day for a return to the values and ideals that I was taught. I fear that a society without unity cannot succeed and that's all the more true for families. Best of luck to you with your girls. It sounds like you are doing your best to guide them down the right paths. I pray that they listen to and appreciate your efforts and follow the advice and guidance you're giving them. 🙏🕊️
@@bobbiejojackson9448That's not new. Every generation says that. I remember my Grandfather saying that we had no respect for our elders, now I see it in my grandkids. Nothing has changed, you've just switched sides.
And it's not school, it's parents. It used ti be that a school could discipline children, now if they try to the parents scream at the teachers. Little to do with school, everything to do with parents.

@@bremCZ I realize that there's a generational component to this, but the younger generation in the West right now are a whole different beast. I'm not sure how much you delve into social media or cultural issues, but I'm guessing that it's not something that you focus on. And that's absolutely fine. But if you took a bit of a deep dive into what these kids are doing to themselves and the level of indoctrination they're experiencing from every possible direction, it's pretty frightening stuff. I sure never thought I'd ever see some of the things I'm seeing today. Certainly not in my lifetime. I'm in my early 40s and my children are still young. I've been an elementary school teacher for 15 years, but my husband and I were becoming so concerned about what's being taught in our public schools, that we decided that I'd stay home and we'd home school. And we're not alone. All of our friends with school aged children are either home schooling or taking their kids out of public schools and putting them in private schools. It's definitely not at all the same as it was when I was in school. 😕

The communal lifestyle of eastern culture is something that we should aspire to in the west instead of shunning. The level of love and support that a family has for one another in those cultures is how we were meant to live and work. Thank you for sharing with us!
I think our youth turn to drugs due to the family life is being shattered so much here in the states. Many have no idea what a normal family is like, father, mother & children. Too many in the USA are accustomed to hand outs or worst to replace the lack of family love & all that does is fall short of what they are seeking. I have been fortunate to be raised in a normal family and blessed for my faith in Jesus Christ. The choices of faith, family & friends are more precious than any amount of $. May God Almighty bless these gentle & amazing people 3-fold. They are a true treasure of mankind.
While I don't dismiss the benefits of family, I- personally- would like to suggest that not everyone feels the same way about family and community. Not everyone feels the same desire to live closely with those peoples, and in fact flourish as singular entities who uncommonly associate with said peoples. That's not to say that there is no benefit, or that one is right and one is wrong, only that different people have different desires and needs when it comes to interacting socially with any given relation or extension of people. Some people love their families and friends, and still desire solitude 90% of the time- which is generally at odds with the aforementioned eastern familial lifestyle.
This is the most insightful video to date that you guys have done. I love it!!! Getting to know the guys on this channel personally has been awesome. I'm loving a lot of the newer content because it gives us more of an insight into their lives And who they are. This is my favorite video thus far. Hearing about the electricity outage lasting for half a day to a day reminded me of when I was growing up. I was a child when I moved into a new neighborhood and there were times when the power was out for so long that my parents will ask me and my younger sister to get the candles out so they can light it. It was only when the power came back on we could blow the candles out. Some times having a candle or two never hurts.

That’s how it was many years ago in my Italian family.
Every one got together having good times;
Cooking, eating, laughing lots of fun.
When the elders passed on to heaven things changed the kids grew up had their own lives moved away etc.
It was a time when families were close knit and all were in everyone’s business giving advice.
I miss those days.
But I still try to have my gathering with mine.
Of course not as loud as the houseful of noisy Italians from days gone by. 😂😂

Because we (Americans) are a country of immigrants, we don't have those same ties, and that's clearly our biggest issue - very little family/community structure. It's difficult to assimilate. My husband is an engineer but took a retail job at first. He was appalled when couples showed up and men made their wives or girlfriends pay for their own orders or quibbled over a few dollars, he was really shocked to see insecure guys tracking the location of their spouse and jumping to jealous conclusions, it bothers him a lot when family is disrespectful to each other.
For all the advancements that we have here in the West, we sadly lack many of these vital things that these guys have....you guys collectively, are the definition of good hearted humanity. You are blessed to have your family so close...I envy you. Bless you all....your life philosophy is outstanding.

The strength of your culture seems to be respect for each other. This is something we have lost in the west. Everyone going in their own direction.
Its very strong communities and faith. Without those two I don't know how people can get by in the west.
There is a lot can be learned from their values.

Even in my family...we are all spread out all over. Hundreds of miles between us all. I moved closer to my elderly parents (now in their 90s) but they want to be completely independent from all their kids. Everyone has their own house in different cities in 2 different states. We live 600 miles away from my brother. Their son lives at his college 1000 miles away. My son is in the military and has been all over the world...now lives "close" at 300 miles from me. When my parents pass i will be completely alone 300+ miles away from any immediate family.
I love the Tribal People and their close families sharing everything, helping each other and supporting each member.
They are truly blessed.
I love hearing them describe how they live in large families. Many desi families here in the U.S. are more wealthy than others because they share a household and family income.
These are some of the things the U.S.A. used to have-but threw away. I hope these men can keep them better than we did.

Regarding the cuisine and food that is usually eaten in your areas -- one thing I always like about your food reaction videos is that you often compare some element of the Western dishes that you try with something commonly eaten in your area. Mr. Gul Sher Khan is especially good at this. He often will tell us about something similar that people in his family and village eat right as he is tasting a Western dish. The other gentleman do this as well of course. I am sorry that the unemployment and wages situation there is difficult but on the other hand I am glad that you gentleman can make some money by making these videos and sharing your opinions with us. I think you really deserve it. All four of you are so wonderful to watch, and hearing your explanations and opinions is wonderful for us. We really enjoy hearing from Pakistani people this way. You have so many wonderful things to share and we appreciate it.

When i was a child, we lived near the Texas Gulf Coast. Often had hurricanes blow through. We lost electricity and sometimes we had no power for a week. We had well wayer so the pump for the well didn't work, no refrigeration. It was difficult, but my parents were very smart and knew how to plan for no power. We had water stored in old milk bottles, bathtub, water heater. We always had candles on hand. We weren't too upset to not have tv.
Kids (and a lot of adults) today wouldnt know what to do without all their electronics and 500 channels and phones/internet.
I know for sure id be fine. I dont have tv in my house anyway and have survived before without gadgets.

We honor and respect your cultures/practices and appreciate knowing more about it now, than we did prior to this video. Knowledge enlightens! After seeing this we could not love these four men even more!
Food note: We absolutely love all types but especially Mid-Eastern cuisine- we love to eat lentils, veggies, curries, and meats such as lamb/chicken etc., to enhance some of our dishes but the specific use of spices are SO rewarding and especially eaten with flat bread! I think it is much like "everyday" Asian cuisine (I am Asian, my husband is American). In my family, types of protein are added into a meal basically for flavor/nutrition/texture interest and not as a specific stand alone dish. However I/my parents/my grandparents etc have done so- that is; cooked a meal of a whole chicken/lamb roast/roast beef/roast pork supported by veggies and grain, BUT only if it is a special occasion or receiving guests.
I am always curious about why these people wear THAT headgear. Not "why wear headgear at all", but why THAT headgear. How often and why do they change? What is the difference between some headgear from other versions?
The turban (locally known as Pagri or Pagg)? It is a cultural headgear wore by men in Punjab & Balochistan. It's a single piece of cloth wrapped around head into different types of turban
Has been covered in past videos, is religious & cultural traditions.
It also provides protection from direct sun heat.
It is also a reminder for them that death in inevitable. Life is temproray and they have to stand in judgement before God. So that when they die, they atleast have a kafan (shroud) to get their body wrapped in for a respectable burial. Gulsher gave this explaination in a previous
video as he comes from a warrior clan.

Please, please, give girls as much education as boys. We are not inferior, and are half the human race. There's no reason to deprive a human being of education. That's just oppression for no reason.
If they had better education system they would send their daughters school but it seems it costs alot to send a child to school while no proper education being taught like many nations around the world with corrupted politicians bleeding the people...also safety could be another reason many chose to keep daughters home.. in many countries like mine ,in the rural nomad areas and villages are same, people hold onto their daughters tightly ,,,alot of rape and human trafficking on the rise as the world gets more corrupt and unpleasant 😥
Most parents do it out of necessity as higher education is very expensive and some parents cannot afford it for all of their children so naturally they invest more in their son's education as men are expected to provide for the family.
This is one of the reasons why global literacy rate is higher in males than females.
Why can't the wo.en in their families teach the girls to read, write and mathematics?
Send one or 2 of the women to school to learn then they can teach the others?

Peace be upon you, thank you for sharing and giving insight into your lives in Pakistan, I live in a very tiny country called Belize, and we are a poor country with corruption keeping it behind developing. We also suffer the same education problems with school fees being high, and poor curriculum problems, many of the old ways are lost, including good food.

But unfortunately, the western culture has lost so much of that. They say it's in the name of progress, but it makes me sad to see good values tossed in the garbage. May God bless you all.
I think we all need to figure out better ways to protect ourselves and our children from harm, and nurture the ability to tell what's wrong from right in our society. But at the same time it is also true that we lack new ways in the new world that help us connect with each other and form strong communities. Some family members may truly not care about us and not be the best for us, but it doesn't mean there aren't other good people out there and that our society can't find other ways to band together and help each other out. We all need to be proactive and learn how to respect each other's needs and safety as human beings.

I live alone in California, my Aunt by marriage (Uncle deceased) lives with my cousins in Arizona, My father and mother near Chicago, a cousin farther out from Chicago, my Uncle and his wife live in middle of that state, a cousin lives in Indiana, I have an Uncle and his wife and members of her family in Florida, We are all spread out, living or own lives, We keep in touch by phone, email, messaging, some are visiting each other. I am 57; I was married but now I am divorced. I have become disabled but I and my government take care of me. Sometimes I miss my parents. I think there is some wisdom in each system, yours and ours. Thank you for sharing.
1:30 - Truly is sad that the government is not helping the poor with education by providing schools and teachers for their children, I hope with this channel that can change. If you're unable to build schools, there are some videos online that can help with language and math in Urdu if this helps.

Respecting elders is important, but also important is to grow and advance. If we leave everything to the elders, we never advance beyond what they knew and experienced. They have knowledge and wisdom that should be respected and considered, but they are also limited by their lack of experience in the new era. It is important to learn from our elders, but also as important to learn from other cultures and to absorb knowledge from all other cultures and all new things. This channel illustrates this idea.
