Yes, this was 100% the key for me when I started implementing it 10 months ago. Down almost 70 lbs, kept my muscle, and can maintain this for life. Paleo worked for me in 2011 but I couldn't maintain it. My low point was washing the bbq sauce off some delicious ribs due to that diet's restrictions. I tried 'balanced' eating and 'moderation' without tracking but failed miserably. Tracking and eating whatever I wanted with a protein goal was 100% the solution. I don't have room in my caloric budget for things like olive oil, ranch, mayo, etc. but I can have a lean beef cheeseburger, bbq, chips & salsa, a ton of good things within limits.
Yeah washing off all the flavour to those delicious ribs definatly a low point and makes you stop and think wtf am i doing 😂 Yeah i track my calories via MyFitnessPal and basically eat whatever i want providing i'm hitting my calories/nutrition, i dont even need to look at my protein as i hit it anyway based off the foods i eat day in day out (i don't force myself to eat anything, my diet is 100% by design to so that i look forward to everything)
What's your current weight loss goal? (PS: if you enjoyed the video like & subscribe for more 🤪)
