  • This is part three of a short video I made during a summer afternoon at the Ferrymead Railway, based in the Ferrymead Heritage Park in the outskirts of Christchurch, New Zealand. The railway is a beautifully restored heritage line in a faithfully restored Edwardian setting with buildings and artifacts from past years, and bygone technologies. As well as steam locomotives, the Railway also runs diesel and electric trains, and on site is a fully running tram network. I saw a Vulcan , English Electric loco in the sheds and hope in the future to get a wider range of shots for you.
Part of the video features the signal box incorporating a McKenzie lever frame and the Tablet safety system. Fully functional and expertly handled.
The people running the Railway are all volunteers and were really friendly and enthusiastic.
I have a lot of videos which I hope you will enjoy of the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway based in Eryri which is Welsh for Snowdonia, a beautiful National Park in the UK.
I'm now the proud member of Railway Societies at both ends of the Earth.
If you like my videos, please subscribe, and if you get the chance pop along to the Ferrymead Heritage Park where you'll get a warm welcome.
    Thank you,
    White Dragon Pictures.
