How did the hijackers manage to clear security check at Nepal airport. If Nepal had strict airport security then this wouldn’t have had happened. Hope the security at Kathmandu airport strict. Sadly Every now and then we still get to see so many airline tragedies in Nepal. So many crashes signal something terribly wrong in Nepal.l
Till today, for Nepal-India flights, in-cabin bags are rechecked just outside the aircraft by indian forces. Which is a little hassle for passengers, as its either to sunny or too cold. But I respect this procedure. Indian government doesn’t believe in Nepal Airport checking and does a re check by themselves.
If something like this happens now and if Pakistan Denies permission to land, Modi will directly say " You allow us to land or otherwise Lahore will be a History "

In hostage situations like this, the pilots really should have been smarter. When they started threatening to kill passengers if he didn’t take off without fuel, they were literally letting him know they couldn’t fly that plane without him, or they would have shot him and took off themselves. In that moment you need to drop your hero complex that has you convinced you can save everyone on the plane, and you need to accept that some people are gonna die, but not everyone has to die. The swat team is literally right there on the runway, maybe 30 seconds away. All the pilot had to do, was drop the ramp so they could enter the plane, simultaneously forcing the 100+ passengers to fight for their lives. The hijackers would have two options, try to execute 100+ unrestrained people in a small space (where realistically the most they could kill is 30 before the rest pile on top of them or the clips go empty. Or try to flee the plane and escape and get tracked down by the police/swat. Let’s say worst case scenario, they don’t even try to flee the plane and save themselves, but they decide to make a last stand and try to kill people on the plane out of spite. 5 guys with handguns are not killing 100+ people on a plane before the swat team enters 2 minutes later. They’ll be reloading their handguns and shot down before they even get the clip in, and maybe they take down 10-20 people before the swat reaches them, maybe less is the injuries aren’t all fatal. Either way saving 150 people is a hell of a lot better than getting 170 killed by trying to save everyone including yourself.
Raw agents aren’t anything close to what is shown in Bollywood movies. They are intelligence experts. There job is to gain information being undercover and not engage. They aren’t the Bollywood heros type well built guys but ordinary looking people like us.

Issues were raised in perliament and Atal Bihari was Prime Minister. With the agreement of all in the bench (also after consulting opposition leaders) it was decided to release terrorists. Masood Ajhar was one of them , yes he was killed in modi era . Anyways the conditions were really shitty during those times and public was very undermature that they don't even gave time to govt for taking any alternative better option.
@@zephyr_00 now answering what u said ,
Like the hijacked plane was in Kandhaar, Afganistan. And You must know that Afgan and Pakistan were hub for terrorism during that era ( Pakistan is still a hub , but yeah they have good people too 👍)
Al Kayeda , Lashkar , Taliban , all were in a single frame and yeah releasing the terrorists at any country was not really a better option. Cuz you know , so called human rights activists 🥸. That's why govt agreed and releases them as per the barter deal.
My father told me this story as a kid and I was in awe of the pilot, love seeing this getting visualised
The fact that dawood was first handedly inbolved in this hijacking and people in our country glorifying him by making movies on him
Recently I flew from Colombo to Chennai in Air India. The aeroplane staffs checked bags of passengers individually. Good to see our security is been taken great care of after 25 yrs of this incident as well.
My country used to be too soft, unable to handle a hijack, hopefully things are better now. Love my country and proud of being its citizen

Tears rolled out from my eyes. Sometimes we have no choice except giving up on few things to win a big thing. Your efforts and intent in putting this forward is very much appreciated, sir. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you so much 😀 I appreciate your encouragement! :)
I still wonder they left the runway open after the plane landed at Amritsar....
Conflicting orders from delhi.
Yes, the uneducated Talibans knew how to surround a plane but the Indian authorities didn't have this basic training. Shame on the corrupted politicians of India.
@@drbmaitrawell said! There is a lot of political activities behind this. Sad that politics and power was prioritised and the life of innocent Khatyal was taken away because of this. RIP

S. Jaishankar would have save everyone without releasing the militants. The negligence of the MEA then can be seen while the plane was in Amritsar. They could have killed the hijackers if quick action and tracking have been done. The pilot was brilliant therefore he choose to stay in the border but the Indian govt. failed him and the passengers.

Great video. What a difficult situation that pilots and people were caught in

Just watched this on Netflix and it is one of the best stories of this kind that I have seen amazing real life stories that makes you realise how looking we are to not have had this tragedy happen to us I hope that everyone that was involved with this has made some sort of recovery and they have been able to move on from it 😢
i am so shocked how not so seriously this was taken

This is better than netflix series about ic 814
Really nice content. I would say it’s on par with some of the more established aviation RUclips channels. Keep up the good work!
Thanks a ton!❤️
The storytelling here is gripping and emotional! The story of IC814 is not just a lesson in history but a sobering reminder of unforeseen crises. The tension and life-or-death decisions faced by the crew and passengers truly keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Really looking forward to your next video!
Thank you so much! :)
Epic video, good to know more people know about this incident! Would it be possible for you to do a video covering Japan Airlines Flight 351? One half of the story was covered by RUclipsr Kento Bento three years ago, but unfortunately, he had to abandon his channel due to illness and couldn't continue the series. It would be amazing if someone could carry on the project and complete the other half. Thanks for considering it!
Oh thanks for letting me know. I’ll watch Kentos video now.

This is one of the best things I’ve watched in ages. Your storytelling and editing is amazing. I travel a lot and I didn’t know what plan hijacking was until today when I remembered MH370 from 10 years ago and I was just sitting wondering and researching what happened. I eventually found myself on your channel because I really didn’t understand anything about plane hijackings. Wow. I’m definitely subscribing.

India should learn from Israel & how they rescued passengers during hijack in operation Entebbe!!
this story is from 1999. India has changed a lot bruh. Indian government literally rescued students from Russia-Ukraine war,

Big Mistake of that time indian government lead by Vajpayee /BJP, they head chance to take over the plane in Punjab.
They were just big-mouthed
In real and emergency situations like these, they folded

When did 26/11 taken place?? During congress rule
@@subhashishbagchi3191 What do you know about kargil war?
we won yaayyy ?
1. It was a grave intelligence failure. The first informants about Pakistani intrusions were local shepherds.
2. Due to the Vajpayee government's big mouthed-ness, they restricted the IAF fighters/helicopters from crossing LOC. Is there LOC drawn in the sky? 😂
Due to this, fighter and helicopter pilots were more concerned about crossing the LOC which made them prone to ManPads of insurgents and we lost many more lives and many assets due to this decision. Several of our helicopters crashed in Kargil without combat.
See now Modi govt doesn't care about LOC. Got the differences?

There was a RAW agent inside the plane . Why he didn't do anything?
Raw agents aren’t anything close to what is shown in Bollywood movies. They are intelligence experts. There job is to gain information being undercover and not engage. They aren’t the Bollywood heros type well built guys but ordinary looking people like us.
